why can't this results show be a half hour?? honestly...do we need all of this other extra crap? i just want to know who's leaving!

I wasn't home tonight and had to record it. I actually ended up being glad because I could just fast forward through all the other stuff and get to the results! I may just do that from now on even if I am home!

Marie called into a local show yesterday with some cute tidbits such as - - she's lost 3" in her waist since starting her diet for the show, her least favorite part of the whole thing is costume fittings, she's going to put a funny video on You Tube, and her next dance is going to be the Mambo. She said she's been dieting to stop "things" from shaking and when they told her she was dancing the mambo she was like "you want me to shake WHAT???"

I think Marie is really funny. I saw a clip of her saying that 25 million people are voting for DWTS and 22 million of them are Osmonds!

I hope she sticks around for awhile because I think she has a great personality and isn't taking it TOO seriously.

I thought Josie looked a little shell-shocked last night. She had no clue what to say when they asked her if there was anything she wanted to say to the fans. She said something like "Thank you for being honest...I guess..." I thought she could have been a little more gracious.

Wayne Newton must be trying a comeback. He was on Design Star just recently too. He's creepy!!!

Wayne Newton by no means needs a comeback.....he practically owns Las Vegas and is a consumate showman.......He just loves to work. I first saw him when I was 12 and am now 51. He deserves everything he has worked for and is a STAR!

I finally was able to watch all the episodes today. My favorites are the race car driver & the male model(sorry can't remember names yet). I also thought Jane Seymore danced well.

You know, I have stayed FAR away from this show in the past, but tuned in Tuesday night to watch Helio Castroneves. Since he's an IRL driver and I'm a Champ Car fan, I had hoped to watch him make a fool of himself. But, I had to admit that he was REALLY good! I even tuned in to the end of last night's show to see who got eliminated. I'll be so ashamed of myself if I get hooked on this show, but I fear I might keep watching to see how Helio does. I mean, he was REALLY good!

YEAH! I found the DWTS thread!

I didn't vote either night because I don't have a clear favorite yet but I was impressed by the girls. Great start of the season! Then the guys came on and did much better than I expected! This looks like it will be a fun season! Wooo!

I am sad that Josie the model got booted the first week. Only because I wanted Alex, her partner, to stick around a little longer. I thought it was really funny to hear his comments about her, especially that 'deceptively unfit' one. He and Edyta got married before the season starts; hence the comment about giving their votes to Edyta.

for bringing Drew in as the co-host!! I hope Samatha takes a loooooooooong maternity leave! Can we hope for an entire season??

The male model guy was cracking me up with his Elvis dance. I didn't realize he is so young but he can certainly swing those hips. I am with LilIrishChick - keep him around until the shirt comes off!

Mark Cuban and his scar - did we really need to see that and half of his cheek?? UGH. I guess he is buying his votes with the 5.7 BILLION DOLLARS he got when he sold his company. We can start a drinking game if he keeps mentioning that! I was really hoping he would go home last night.

Did I mention that I am happy that Drew is on the show??

I'm pretty much in agreement with everyone - just about everyone did amazingly well for the first week, even Josie, who was definitely the worst of the women but really not bad (she's no Master P or Kenny Maine! ). Helio was the best of the men. I think Jane and the Cheeta girl were the best women, but it should be really interesting to see her dance to the classic dances (waltz??) to see if she can pull it off.

Wayne was the worst dancer of the men, and that really surprised me - I expected he'd be able to move better even for his age just because of all the years he's been performing (although, I suppose he doesn't do much dancing in his shows). But he (and yes, his face) looked so stiff. Sadly, I think he'll be in it longer than he should just because of who he is.

Mark Cuban - yeah, the scar was DEFINITELY TMI, although I have to say, I thought he was joking until he showed it, so maybe that's why he did. But I thought a) it was pretty lame of him to set up an excuse right off the bat, and b) he's nuts for still trying to do this so soon after surgery. But then, I guess he has the money to repair it when he screws his hip up.

Even though he's a bit on the creepy side, I did actually like Mark's answer as to why he was doing this - that he wanted to experience as many different things in life as he can. I give him a bit of credit for that - that, and I liked that he was singing along with the song because he was having fun. I still want him to leave early though.

The judges were way too tough on Floyd. The model guy - liked the shirt, but they need to stop overdoing his makeup on his face!

Helio gave me goosebumps!! He was doing all the little things - his head was up and looking out, not down at his feet. His arm went out in time to the music with hand flicking at just the right moment - just little details that were amazing to see in a first dance! And soooooo smooth!

As for Mark Cuban - I love him! He acts the way I think I would if I became a billionaire overnight! And then he tells that story about his daughter and how excited she is about his dancing - so sweet.

Floyd's feet just were all sorts of wrong during the dance. And Wayne is older than dirt - besides the botox, I think the rest of him just doesn't have the flexibility of youth. Course, that fexibility sure didn't help that female model! OMG was she bad!

I'm looking forward to next week.

In the course of looking for something else last night, I came across half a dozen photos I took of Helio back when he was in Champ Car (CART at the time) back in 2000 at California Speedway. I have to admit, that I've always thought he was awfully handsome. I just wish he hadn't gone IRL. Still, he's good looking, has a great personality and is, apparently, a marvelous dancer. He could end up winning this thing if the votes go on real talent more than on existing fan base.

So... I guess I'm gonna have to keep watching. I'm so ashamed...

True, but watching her with Helio, you can tell that she's just one of those people that makes quick connections with others and is very friendly and likable. Also, seeing her creative routine also makes you realize just how good she is at dancing and teaching, since she's able to pull off just as good a routine as she was able to with Apolo.

meh, i still like her with Apolo. i like her choreography(did i even spell that right?) but her partner this year?? not so much. like i said, i don't even know if i have a favorite yet. i'm kinda partial to male model tho.....

I agree with previous posters about Julianne. She definitely has a fresh way of showcasing her partner and creating some wonderful dances. It looks like she might be one of those poeple who has the gift of making their partner look great.
