I'm happy. I'm a swim mom and I like Ryan Lochte. He needs to re-establish his brand and what better way than to be charming on DWTS?
As someone who follows swimming (even when it's NOT the Olympics) I think that whole Lochte episode has completely been blown out of proportion. Yes, he was drunk. Yes, he peed behind the gas station. Yes, he knocked down an advertizing poster. Yes, he lied about having a gun pointed to his head. HOWEVER ... the swimmers never destroyed a bathroom -(the Rio police LIED about that). They WERE held at gunpoint by security (perhaps illegally). They were shaken down by security to "pay" for the poster (how much different is that from being robbed?). Frankly, I think that Lochte has been railroaded here and that the companies withdrew their support for him did so before all the evidence was out. It's a real shame because what he really did was not that bad in the grand scheme of things. Was he immature? You bet.

As a fellow swim-mom, I absolutely agree w/ everything you said!
We were discussing this as a family the other night, & I said what Michael Phelps did (driving drunk) was actually much more dangerous than what Ryan Lochte did - not that I want my kids drunk & peeing behind gas stations & ripping down posters. But, at least, Ryan was in a cab. And we all seem to have forgiven Phelps.
Like you said, Ryan was railroaded, &, during his interview w/ Matt Lauer, I felt sorry for him.
So, I'm excited for Ryan to be on DWTS, & I hope the voters give him a fair chance.
And I'm THRILLED that Maks is back!
.

It's like football plays right now, with so many stars & dancers in & out.

(I could just wait an hour till some blog posts the list. But, that's not as fun as finding out early or as they announce it that we got it right.
