Dance Moms - anyone still watching?

My 2 cents:

- The relationship between Kelly and Abby was dead several seasons ago. I feel it is the contract and money that kept Kelly in there hoping things would get better as long as Christie was by her side.

- Abby treats those kids like crap.

- Good for Brooke for not responding to Abby, Brooke is tired of Abby's crap.

- Chloe is the only one on the team whose dancing has improved. She has musicality and can hold her own with Maddie.

- My heart breaks for Kendall. Her mom is trying to live through her and Kendall is so young and lacks the "eye of the tiger". She needs more time and experience to improve. She has no musicality and she always looks as if she's doing choreography instead of dancing. I have high hopes for her.

- Paige and Brooke: two talented kids whose love of dance has been killed because they lacked a nurturing and compassionate teacher.

- MacKenzie - too young to be dealing with this nonsense (Abby and her mother's worship of Maddie). Edited to add: I actually do like Melissa. Maddie is a child prodigy and the haters can't handle it. Melissa is just advocating for her two girls in the best way she can.

Where are all the people who constantly reported another mother on a reality show? I don't get why Abby is allowed to abuse these children when the proof is the tapes. Why are the parents not charged for allowing it? How can Holly who was a school principal continue to bring her child? How can the tv station continue to encourage this abuse? I guess they (the moms and Abby) got caught up in the money and fame and potential for opportunities and Abby couldn't have them all leave right when she was getting popular and famous so she threw it at them that they were contractually bound to her/the studio. In one episode it was said that they have to pay her $100,000 for breach of contract, Asia's mom said it wasn't a problem to pay if she needed to leave the ALDC. Abby has caught some crap because of the way she treats these particular kids and wants them out but now there are series contracts that the network has with each of the Moms so what is she to do other than force them out one by one. It's not right at all. I am most surprised by Holly as well.

Sorry but I think Maddie is far from a child prodigy. Yes she is treated like one , but Chloe dances just as well and IMOP I feel Kalanhi is even more talented than Maddie and Abby I think knows it too thats why she wont put Maddie and Kalanhi head to head.

Holly was not just a school principal she was assistant headmaster of a hoity toity $20,000 a year private school here in Pittsburgh.
Private schools arent as popular here as they are in other parts of the US.
I heard she was asked to leave her job because the school didnt want the publicity.
She surprises me most as well. A PHD and she is now a member of a reality show.

Ive always wondered what the deal is with the dads, they are never seen or even talked about.

The parents bring these kids to Abby because they want futures for them. The competition team is all about getting exposure for paid jobs. Abby has certain rules (no crying, certain wardrobe) because when these girls go for auditions for paid roles this is what employers will be looing for.

Also, this is tv. Everything is scripted and edited.

Abby won't put Kilani(sp?) up against Maddie because she knows Maddie won't win. She put all of her eggs in Maddie's basket.

IMO the whole thing is a giant manipulation. I think what we're seeing right now is producers making a move to get rid of some people in an attempt to freshen up the show to milk another round or two out of it before they cash out.

Isn't it odd that there's a claim by tabloids that there was an arrest, with no mug shot put out? Stop and think, does that really seem likely? Mug shots are public record, which is why Justin Bieber & any random former MTV reality show of the 90's has theirs plastered everywhere immediately after arrest, yet a current reality performer who rates tabloid stories gets arrested & there's no mug shot? I call shenanigans.

I'm watching it now. I kind of like it. This teacher seems tough, but with a kind heart for her girls.

I was looking at some results from the past month for actual, real competitions and it looks like McKaylee from AUDC is dancing for her now. I know her mom owns a pretty respectable studio in NE, so I guess she is doing it for the experience? I don't think Abby is some one of a kind, special teacher that dancers should be flocking to but everyone wants their moment in the spotlight. I think Kalani is going to leave because Abby won't put her up against Maddie. Yeah, Maddie is a good dancer but her face just kills every dance for me.

This show was always a train wreck but it just gets worse and worse.

I love Chloe and definetly think she is right up there with Maddie if not better. She did win Nationals a couple years ago.
I read that Abbys behavior is all a put on . That may have been true in the beginning but she is just nasty nasty nasty. I know she turns out great dancers but at what price?

I am so tired of Maddie . I secretly hopes she messes up everytime she dances. Cruel and juvenile I know.
I also heard about Abbys bankruptcy but I thought it was the contract with Dance Moms that bailed her out.

Where are all the ALDC alumni? I mean, she's been in business for awhile, where are all her protégés?

Maddie is truly talented and even Mackenzie is really coming along. I cannot differentiate between the girls sometimes when in costume, meaning Mackenzie blends in now instead of sticking out like a baby. Is it because these 2 are the only ones Abby really cares about? Is it because they take extra lessons because of the homeschooling? IDK.

Brooke should not still be dancing with these girls. She is too old. She looks uninterested. It is very probable that Brooke and Paige were only still there because of contracts.

Nia(sp?) is actually a really bad dancer. She knows the moves but is clunky and has no grace in her execution. I would be shocked if she was ever a professional dancer.

Maddie is already having breakdowns when she doesn't win. Poor kid... It's going to be a rough life when she's out from under Abby's wing.

Brooke was awful, that auto tune that they have now can make anyone sound good, but if you need that, then you can't really sing.
Also, Brooke has danced for years and years, yet she stood there stiff as a board while she sang. It was painful to watch.

MacKenzie can't carry a tune either.

I agree with everyone who has said Abby won't let Maddie go against Kalani because she dances circles around Maddie.

I'm starting to like Kalani. When Abby said "Now there's a dancer that was born with beautiful feet" or something to that effect, that makes me think Abby really does like her. But agreeing with ops, why won't she put her against Maddie?

I think they are killing their futures by being on this show. I personally think the parents bring them to Abby because they get paid to. I think these children are being abused verbally.. Shame on their parents. Where are all those people from the other reality show who thought those kids were being abused? I thought PA had all these laws to protect kids/child actors. Good for Kelly for leaving. BTW I think there was no mug shot because Kelly wasn't arrested. She went to the police station willingly and was charged, not arrested.
Abby was bankrupt.. That leaves me to believe she wasn't doing very well before the show. Plus a lit if the comps are set iOS fir the show. How will that get these kids anywhere?
Asia's mom was smart, she moved on once her child was verbally abused by Abby.

I agree with this completely. I can't believe she won't put Maddie up against Kilani. She's always trying to teach the other girls a lesson. Teach Maddie a lesson. She won't always win. She needs to learn how to cope with not being the best because the girl has meltdowns when she makes the slightest mistake. Her mother does not help!

And OMG. I feel terrible saying it because she's just a kid but Mackenzie cannot sing. I wish Abby would stop encouraging her to do it because she's just setting her up to fail.
