Dance mat and game?

The only thing my son wants for his birthday is one of those dance mats and the game that goes along with it. However I have no idea what to buy or what to pay for it. We have a PS2, gamecube, Xbox and Xbox360, so any system is fine. I would prefer the game to have some recognizable songs. Any suggestions would be appreciate. TIA!

I know there is Dance Dance Recolution (DDR) and DDR Max, DDR Max 2, for PS2 which if I'm remembering right were around $40 and the mat to go with was $20-$30.

I have the DDR Max2 - it has a work out mode but there are no commerically known songs or music on it.

for Gamecube there is a mArio dance dance game, not sure if the songs are recognizable though. I have DDR Max2 I believe, lol which I love but like someone else said not too many familiar songs and they aren't dung by the original artist anyway.

There is a game coming out I believe it is called Dance Factory, which allows you to use your won cd's and it creates dance steps for you...I'll try and get more info about this, my husband found it for me.
