Wow, thank you, Pam, for starting this thread, as well as letting me know about it (I would have missed it, I am sure). Reading through this has been like reading that old-timers thread I started years ago, that is linked in my signature. I recognize every name and person in this thread. :cloud9: And miss seeing some whom I know cannot add their thoughts. :(And I thank each and every one of you for your kind thoughts and prayers along with the words of encouragement and advice.

And yes, I had knee replacement. Surgery was Tuesday morning. Had 3 nights, 4 days in the hospital, and I am now at the acute care nursing home for at least 2 weeks, or maybe more. And then out-patient therapy for about 2 months. Had my first real physical therapy this morning. A good workout. :cool1:

Hoping to be able to do things I have not been able to for a good number of years now. I've really gone downhill the past few years and looking forward to getting back and better in the months ahead.

Once again, thanks everyone for your good wishes and thoughts. If anyone wants to send me a note, please use my email (linked below). It is more difficult using the pm's here.

Thanks,

Dan

Dan! So glad you checked in! Glad to hear you're coming along with your recovery. My mother-in-law had knee replacement last year when she was 88 and it made a world of difference for her. Hoping the same for you! We're heading down to Orlando in a few days. I'll be thinking about you...always a reminder to look up! ;) :)

Dan, as a physical therapist, I can reinforce how important the exercises and walking are. And nearly all of my patients have excellent results.

Good wishes for an uneventful recovery for you.

I'm so happy to hear you are recovering well Dan. I hope you are soon up and around and planning a Disney trip to celebrate!

....looiking for an update....how's the knee going, Dan? :confused3

Good morning.

Just a brief requested update. Home now, since late Friday. Was in rehab nursing home for 15 days, lots of physical and occupational therapy, very tiring, but necessary. Now I have about 2 months of outpatient PT, starting today.

I am able to walk fairly well with cane. The most difficult part of the deal so far has been sleeping, very uncomfortable, waking up often. But it will get there, improving daily.

Again, thanks you all for your good wishes, prayers, emails, much appreciated.

Just take it easy, Dan, won't be long until you're up and running again. :goodvibes
