damp room

Hi all, we just spent a week in the new building 6416 and noticed the room was damp. It was ground floor but even so the floors were damp to the bare foot and there was some crinkling of the paper in one of my writing pads. Anybody else experience this? Wes

Was it damp the whole time? I have had damp floors when we first arrive from housekeeping shampooing the rugs....

Hi,
It was damp the entire time we were there. I even had the air conditioner running. It was very humid in the room but the weather outside was wonderful! We take bath robes with us and they did not dry out nor did towels. It was strange.

I think I would have asked maintenance to take a look at it. Possibly the a/c wasn't drying the air properly. Like KLR the only damp floor we had was from a freshly shampooed carpet. Was the humidity really high outside, or just in your room?

No it wasn't that humid outside. In hindsight, we probably should have had maintence come. It wasn't just the carpets, everything felt damp. Even our dd complained about it. The carpets were dry as far as having been shampooed.

I think something was off with the a/c. Possibly the people before you did not have the a/c on. You have to be very careful with the humidity in Florida. Just like a Northerner has to worry about coming home to frozen pipes in the winter, a Southerner has to worry about coming home to a mold covered home if the a/c (dehumidifier) breaks down.

I'm not sure what was up with the moisture in the room. There had been a fairly heavy dose of rain prior to the moisture becoming so obvious. Secondly, the room sits by the lake on hole number seven and I wondered if there was an underground stream of seepage of the lake under the building. I'm no civil engineer but these were my thoughts...sink holes are a big problen in central FLA. wes
