Dairy Farmers Wife IS going to Disney in March/April!

Um... then how did you update???

Yeah, it sounds like you need to "help" her out with the books for the business. Now that Claire is in school, you have more time to assist her... come up with something, but get her hands out of the cookie jar- NOW!

Good question! LOL! I actually brought my laptop with me because they had free wifi, so I played on the computer while I waited. Which made the time go by really fast!
People kept trying my phone all day to get updates on mom, but of course it was dead. But I did end up using her phone to call everyone later on.

I am so happy to hear that your mother received wonderful test results! That is so good!

Wow! What a shopping trip your mother took you on. That was very sweet of her to do that for you. We, as mother, seems to always want to buy out kids something but then neglect getting anything for ourselves.

On to the mother-in-law....Skip and his brother are going to have to just break down and do something about her. I know that it is a sensitive subject and it's got to be hard to deal with and keep everybody happy. Well, you know what, it doesn't sound like your mother-in-law's going to be happy no matter if she keeps working for Skip or if she were to be fired.

Awesome update. Yeah your MIL needs to learn how to spend her own money wisely and stop stealing from her own children. GRRRR on her. Yay for your mom!!!! So glad she is doing well and she took you shopping!!!!:cool1:

Skip and his brother now have a theory about why she is going batty these past few days. (also a full moon out :rolleyes1) But she watches her grandson every day, all day, Like somtimes 6 AM to 1 AM. He is Autistic and really becoming a pain in the butt at times. Mostly because they let him do what he wants rahter than fight him aboiut stuff. He is 14. He is just too much for her anymore, but Skip's sister refuses to find some one to watch him. And then she also goes out every weekend as well.
So Skip and his bro think she is mad because she thinks I should be working or watching this kid, now that Claire is in school. Mind you, he refuses to even come in my house, so not sure how that will happen. I also have no desire to watch him, and if I did, I would demand to be paid for it. And he would have rules at my house. So I'm sur he would hate it. Everyday when he goes in her house he hides pictures and the phone. In my house, he would NOT be allowed to touch any of that stuff. He also only will eat certain foods, like just a cut up hamburger. At my house, you are lucky when you get a meal...OK I really do cook, but you will eat what I cook. It wouldn;t be a hamburg patty every day at 4 oclack, just because he want one. Also he can't talk, so it's hard to know what he wants. And easy to know what he doesn't want because he screams. screaming at my house earns time out! I know I'm the meanest!
But I also know I wouldn't have the patience for him, and since I'm not immediate family, I think I would get critisized alot more than they already do to the immediate family! LOL!

I was hoping to get a Disney update on today, but I've been a mad woman cleaning this morning, and now off to pick up Claire from School.

Hey Jen
so happy to hear the wonderful news about your mom; and how fun that you were able to go out and splurge on yourself for a change.

about your MIL don't know what advise to give you there...but, Gwendolyn sits with a 16 yr boy who has Aspergers' (sp wrong I'm sure) he is highly functional...that is not fair to your nephew or your MIL that your SIL does not have him enrolled in a program for him. At least school so he can be in a different envirnoment and give the family a break. Hope things get a chance to settle soon, at least for a little bit...

Have a great day!'

He does go to school. He used to go to an autism school that went year round with 2 week breaks here and there. But now he goes to his local public school witch has a program for special needs kids. Not all the kids are autistic. In fact he might be the only one. Some have downs, etc. So now he is on summer break. He does't go back til lSept sometme, but then MIl has to get up early and go to there house (about 20 minutes away) and get him on the bus and then has to be there after school to get him off. Then she brings him home till SIL gets off work. And usually he's in a tizzy after school. So she has to put up with about an hour of crying, or stopping, etc. It is really too much for her anymore. She will be 70 next year. I understand SIL is busy (and her ex is a jerk and does nothing. The boy hates him and cries when he sees him), but she really needs to look into something different for him.

Poor sweetheart! as I said Gwendolyn sits with this boy after school. THE STATE pays her salary; I'm sure this is not just a LA benefit. sounds like your SIL needs to do some research and get with the program and leave grandma to babysit for special occasions...and SIL needs to get with the program and get him on the bus in the morning on her own. I don't think your MIL, at 70, needs to be doing the extra morning chore.
My heart goes out to your nephew; it's not his fault. SIL needs to be closer to MIL if she relies on her so much.
Oh! I don't see your situation improving with MIL any time soon if Skip and his brother don't try to come up with a new situation for it all.
Again, Good Luck!

After so much of this crap over the years, I just now try to smile and paly stupid. It's better for me in the long run, so I don't step on toes and stir the fire, though it is hard sometimes.
I sent Claire over today to give her some pickles I made. She loves these things. And asks for them everytime I make them. So hipefully that will warm her heart.

Hi Jen! I just heard something on ABC World News that you might be interested in. There is a recall on hip replacements! :scared1: Yeah, I was like what? But supposibly there was a certain type of hip replacement that was defective and people who had that type now have to get a new hip replacement. The defective one causes pain and makes it hard to walk. Thought that sounded like your DH's problems. Maybe that's what's wrong?

I did not see that tonight on the news, but Tinker_Tam PM'd earlier today and told me about it.....Thanks :worship:
Skip is going to call and find out what kind he has. But of course tomorrow is Friday and they are off till Monday! :rolleyes1

If anyone has any links, PM them to me. Tinker_tam gave me one, and it's interesting. But Skip wants to know more.

I hope they spent more time than the 30 second clip I found online. Johnson and Johnson is the company, but you probably already got that info. Here are the names of the products.

ASR Hip Resurfacing System
ASR XL Acetabular System

I sent you a few more links. Hope you find something helpful.

thanks, I'll take a look at those.

I love the new haircut!! Super Cute!!!:thumbsup2

Thanks! :)

Yes I did get that info, but most of the articles I looked for last night were pretty much the exact same thing written. I really hope this is NOT the case for Skip, but then at least we would know what was wrong. But then he would need surgery again, which throws Disney back up in the air for a while completely.
I told Skip to try the office today, even theough they are closed...with this being released just yesterday, they may have alot of calls about it, and perhaps someone in to filter the calls.

you can call the hospital medical records department (you may have to go pick it up) or did your surgeron send his notes to his primary physican...just a thought so you guys do not have to wait until monday to hear

Thanks for those ideas. I'll tell him to call the primary Dr and see if he knows.

So how do you trun off an ap then? I don't seem to get any answers about that when I have asked. I use the Task killer..I think ..but I hear mixed things about that too.

I'm trying to get Claire to go for a walk/stoller ride right now, but she wants to eat! :confused3 I on the otherhand need to work off all that I have eaten today!

I'm not sure how the droid works but for my I-phone anytime I want to leave the App I just push the only button on the front of the phone at the bottom center and that closes it out .

Glad to hear that your Mom's appointment went well the other day and how sweet of her to buy u some new clothes and shoes  Us Mommies def don't treat ourselves enough even when we really need it !

Sorry to hear about the Mother In Law issues , def sounds like you need to take over the books ! Mother In Law's can be such a pain it got to the point with mine that we don't even talk to her anymore . We would always call her and be the ones extending our hand out to her to do things and she would never do either in return , so we stopped one day and so did she ! Haven't talked to her in 3 years and I have to say it's pretty nice to not have to put up with the drama . lol

I see Skip's hip mystery may be solved by your Dis friends :goodvibes Hope you are able to find out today if his is one of the hips that has indeed been recalled !

Oh my goodness! A recall on hip replacements?!?!?! :scared1: It would be nice to know what was going on with Skip, but whoa - that is NOT cool at all. :sad2: Keep us posted!

Glad you found a good stroller! We love our Maclaren, they are such great strollers.

Sorry to hear about all the family drama. :headache: But, new clothes - and girly shoes are good! :goodvibes

The surgeon probably did send records to the Primary care doctor, so that should be an option for you! I really hope its not your issue those!

Interesting note though! I got moved to a new department last week- Physical Medicine, aka pain management! I deal with getting precerts and collecting deposits/payments on injections and such. I thought of you and all that you have gone through lately. I'm going to use you guys as a reminder when my patients are rude to me (not that I think you have been!) that they have probably been pushed from doctor to doctor and its not me that they are frustrated with!

Yes, it is a long road to get to the pain management. LOL! And I do think
Skip can be rude at times. I don't think he means it, but I think he is so frustrated that he comes across that way at times. Especially to the hip Dr.

I really hope this is not the problem we have (the recall) but if it is, then at least we have answers.
