Dairy Farmers Wife IS going to Disney in March/April!

Oh my goodness! A recall on hip replacements?!?!?! :scared1: It would be nice to know what was going on with Skip, but whoa - that is NOT cool at all. :sad2: Keep us posted!

Glad you found a good stroller! We love our Maclaren, they are such great strollers.

Sorry to hear about all the family drama. :headache: But, new clothes - and girly shoes are good! :goodvibes

New clothes are great! Gotta love MOM! I hate the winter, but then I will at least have some clothes to try out and wear! :thumbsup2 So far I like the Maclaren.

I'm not sure how the droid works but for my I-phone anytime I want to leave the App I just push the only button on the front of the phone at the bottom center and that closes it out .

Glad to hear that your Mom's appointment went well the other day and how sweet of her to buy u some new clothes and shoes  Us Mommies def don't treat ourselves enough even when we really need it !

Sorry to hear about the Mother In Law issues , def sounds like you need to take over the books ! Mother In Law's can be such a pain it got to the point with mine that we don't even talk to her anymore . We would always call her and be the ones extending our hand out to her to do things and she would never do either in return , so we stopped one day and so did she ! Haven't talked to her in 3 years and I have to say it's pretty nice to not have to put up with the drama . lol

I see Skip's hip mystery may be solved by your Dis friends :goodvibes Hope you are able to find out today if his is one of the hips that has indeed been recalled !

I'll try that with my phone and see. I do have a button that I really don't know the use for. LOL!
I haven't seen MIL for 2 days now. (and she lives right next to me) so I think she is spending most of her days away at SIL house. :rolleyes1

I am so fuming mad...well not really...but...
Remember when I told you all about that poster on the stroller thread who was nasty to me and called Claire a snowflake. Wel luntil now, I didn;t know it had a meaning.
I was on the community board today and someone asked what a snowflake child was.
This is what someone answered...
A Snowflake is when a child grows up-because they have never had to do anything for themselves they are so fragile and can't make decisions and if you look at them wrong they will crack.

So basically a parent who thinks there child does no wrong, and does everything for them so they never learn to do anything for them selves. And these children then think they are perfect and will always have the way paved for them

UGH! This makes me even more mad at the nasty poster. Now Claire is spoiled, I will admit that. I think she is a little sweetheart, but she has her moments. Some of them bad, but for the most part she is well behaved. The best behaved of my 3 children. We do alot for her, but she also does alot for herself...as much as a 5 year old can. She "works" with daddy alot too.
So I can't even imagine why this person used such a derogitory remark about my child, without knowing a thing about her.
Spoiled yes...and she does think she is a princess, yes...but she also has chores, and gets in trouble for things. And I have never been one of those parents who go off to the school and complain because they did my child wrong. In fact, Michael used to ask me to do that, and I told him to work it out on his own. (he was always a big baby about stuff)

Ok, theres my rant of the day! LOL!
And I am surprised that people are allowed to use that term on Dis, if that is what it means. (Most of the people on the thread said they only ever heard the term here on Dis, and wanted to know if thats the only place it is ever used.) :sad2:
So if anyone calls your child a snowflake...know now, they are not a nice person!

I know it's hard, but try not to let you bother you. There are an awful lot of folks out there with nothing better to do than scour chat boards like this and sit in judgment of others. THEY are the ones with the pathetic lives.

They don't know you, they don't know your daughter. And for that I think you can be glad. I got skewered pretty bad and was the topic of much ridicule for a while once, and it did take the magic away for a while. But can you tell...... I'm all OVER it!:banana::banana:

I had a friend start a trip report that she had to withdraw from the board here because she was being ripped to shreds elsewhere (which didn't bother her too much, but the discussion about her kids sealed the deal.........).

So hang in there. WHAT IS WRONG WITH PEOPLE????????

I agree...try not to let it bother you too much. I know it is so hard when they are talking about your child. Just know that the people who do know you think you are making the right decision based on what your DD needs...the rest aren't worth the time to even think about.

How can people be, not only rude, but ignorant. Be proud of your beautiful daughter and thankful that you are able to do what you do for her. I hate people like that period, but it's even worse when they don't know the first thing about you!!!

Jen I know how you feel. Someone on another board made rude comments on my parenting over something I posted that I thought would help other parents it made me so MAD:mad: I would never make anyone feel like that. Try not to think about it (believe me I know its hard) some people don't have anything else to do with their lives.

You asked what kind of stroller I have I think its called Instep 2? Its a jogging stroller. He's growing so fast I hope he can still fit in it in Oct.

 People that say things like that about a child are ridiculous, they need to grow up. Perhaps they were "snowflakes" as children and therefore they think they know it all!

Thanks everyone! Yeah, I won't let it get to me. I actually don't even remember that posters name anymore. LOL! I am just amazed though how rude and nasty some people can be about something so trivial.....of course I have read those refillable mug threads...and lugh at how stupid the arguments are...on both sides. :rotfl2: Some people must live to butt into others lives...or preaching there wonderful knowledge.

Back to some Disney Talk!

I think my last Disney talk post was about my sweatshirt obsession.
I also have become obsessed with something else over the years.....Taking pictures. I've always taken alot of pictures, but now in the age of digital cameras, I have become crazy about it. I also took a few classes at the art museum a few years back and have gotten better and bought a better camera as well. So each trip my picture amount seems to increase drastically. :rolleyes1
I never did the traditional picture in the same spot like many others do. I actually never thought about it till I read of others doing it on some TR's.
So now I am going to try and start doing it each trip.
I do have a few I have taken that are now the start of my traditional trip picture. (all by coincidence ;))
In 2007 we were in the Seas with Nemo, and we got in line to take a picture with Bruce. Sadly the line was long, and Skip wasn't agressive enough to push Claire up into him, so we decided to come back and do it later...which never happened. But in 2008 and 2009 we did get her picture there. So here are 2 of our traditional picture for starters.

We also always seem to rest in this area every trip, once or twice. So I took pictures of this little stage. Last trip however, I saw the stage set up was empty, so I took a picture of the empty stage....never thinking to put Claire in it again, like she was in previous years. What was I thinking! :headache:

So my goal for future trips are to get pictures of Claire in these areas! :woohoo:

WOW !! You learn something new everyday who would have thought that was the definition of a snowflake child . In the words of Stephanie Tanner How Rude !! Some people just really have nothing better to do than to talk badly about others who are truly great people ! Sorry you had to go through all this Jenn , just over a simple stroller question :(

 the idea of getting a picture in the same spot every year , I might just have to go through all my pic's and see if we have any like that . lol

I have heard of helicopter children, but never snowflakes, and I think having a 5 year old riding in a stroller is neither. We went to Disney with another family one year and rented a double stroller for the 7 and 8 year old because they kept complaining their feet hurt, and that mom is the most hands off, throw your kid into the fire and watch em run mom there is (although she did freak out when her 2 y/o grandson was in the deep end of the pool and her husband had to remind her that the WHOLE pool was over his head, she calmed down after that lol). People can be so judgemental and rude it makes me sick.

I have never heard of that term before and when I read what it meant... it made me mad as well! I cannot believe how rude some people can be!

I will let you know that my daughter never used a stoller at home once she learned to walk...she just wouldn't sit still in it. We went to Disney for the first time over her 4th birthday and took the stoller. (my husband thought I was crazy since she never used it at home) Well, let me tell you...with all the walking in Disney, she used her stoller a lot and even took naps in it. We also used it for our other Disney trips when my daughter was 5 and 6 years old. And when she was 7 1/2 and didn't feel well...I rented a double stroller for her. Disney was the only place my daughter used a stroller and I had no problems with that.

You know, I just really fell sorry for those peoples children, (if they have any, and if they don't what the heck do they know anyway!:confused3
Our children will know that their comfort was thought of. Our children will be having a great time on vacation, are well rested to last until late night fireworks which they can be amazed at, and come home with the best memories, :love:and sadly those are the people who push though and yell their way around and then complain that the kids were cranky.

I love the same place picture for every visit. Being that we were only there once;) I will be doing that in Jan!

First off, I have to say that the "snowflake" thread...where someone asked if it was a Dis term or a real word, is starting to turn ugly...as I kind of figured it would. Now people are sayin that if you don't like the word, then you must be the parent of one. :sad2:

I wish I would've been taking pictures like that on purpose each year! :lmao:

I'm still reading over there now, and I am amazed how many people don't think the term is offesive, and those who do must be parents of snowflakes. Not sure how tat becomes the conclusion...but it must be right, since a couple think it is...right? :rotfl2:

That is ridiculous! I cannot believe that people would come to a place like the DIS to bash on other people! That is totally anti-Disney! I almost want to go to this thread and tell people off, but I don't want to be as bad as they are, so I suppose I will stay out of it! It still makes me angry though!

These posters really think they are high and mighty. I posted one last thought there, nothing too bad, and then reported the thread, just saying I think it's on a fast track to turning really ugly. Instead of talking about the OP's question, which has been answered, it's now a debate on whether you are a snowflake parent or not.

Oh jeeze. I guess some people are only happy when they are putting others down.

Yes, I think that is the case. And it's funny, I think some of these people just search for threads like this to start up a heated argument.
