D23 memberships

Sorry wasn't sure where to post this - for D23 members - is there any benefit to a Gold Family membership if it's just my wife and I? Or is Gold even worth it?

I love the magazine. It’s worth $100 a year to me. I don’t go to any of the events but I love having the magazine delivered 4 times a year. That’s the only reason I’m a gold member.

Good to know. My wife asked me recently why we don't go to D23? (We live in Cali, albeit Far Northern Cali) I didn't have a good answer for her so.....

I was a Gold member for a couple of years, and I enjoyed getting the magazine. The member gift was also nice. I didn't feel like the price was worth it once it increased to $100, especially since we don't live anywhere near where the events usually take place.

The main difference is with the regular Gold membership, you can bring 1 guest to events. With the family Gold, you can bring up to 3 guests.

Do you plan on attending any D23 events? That's where Gold membership makes a difference. Most of the events listed on the website are available for Gold members only. Occasionally there will be an event that is open to General members, too. If you do plan to attend events, and since it would be just the two of you, it sounds like regular Gold membership would be fine. Where Gold membership really makes a difference is at the biennial D23 Expo. The 2 largest event halls have Gold member lines which do not require advance reservations and are the first lines to be led in. This past Expo was our fifth, and our Gold membership really paid off just for the Gold member lines. (Plus, we also love the magazine and member gifts!)
If you won't be attending any events or Expo, then Gold membership might not be worth it for you right now.
