D23 Expo September 9-11, 2022 Superthread **Updates in Posts 2 & 3**

For those of you with on-property hotel stays booked through the convention reservation system--did anyone figure out how to get the ADR benefit for staying onsite? I think that since our reservation don't get transferred to the Disney hotels until August 29, we're out of luck, but just curious if anyone figured out a work around.

Does the onsite reservation benefit exist yet? I know they announced something was coming, but wasn't sure if they released additional details about what the benefit is and how to take advantage of it yet.

First D23 Expo ever for me and my bf!!
I’m an avid cosplayer so that’s my biggest draw to the convention, because there are some AMAZING cosplays and cosplayers I have seen from past D23s.

Also will be hitting up the OBB on the D23 night Saturday, it’s my 2nd OBB having gone for the first time in 2019, but my bf’s first, so super excited for that too!!

Tacked on 3 days at the parks after D23 and luckily got my reservations for World of Color, Oga’s and Lamplight lounge for Monday/Tuesday respectively.

Hope to see some of you there??

I bought 2 badges, and transferred one to my friend. You CAN tell which is which, the number on the badge is on the app for each person under badge management. This will be my 6th Expo. (I am now 64).

If you DO end up on long standby lines, overnight or otherwise, they are not bad at all. Time goes fast chatting with the fans around you. Some bring games to play, I usually have my kindle as well. But, you should be comfortbale sititng on the floor. Overnight line details, if any, are usually announced late. If they are not your bag, ignore them. Overall I feel like prescreening security for them, and scanning their tickets early, SPEEDS up the outside lines. Imagine all those people lined up outside in front of you. I have done them and actually enjoyed them; inside is climate controlled with rest rooms lol.

I have done some great panels, just walking by and jumping on a standby line 15-20 minutes before they were to start. I have also been on standby and not gotten in, but that was a chance I took and it didn't take up much of my time.

There is an advantage to transferring all adult badges (under 18 year old issue is still being addressed). Me and my friend can now EACH enter lottery for some same panels vs just one entry if I did not transfer hers. Each "winner" can bring one other guest. If we both got it, we could cancel one. For people who are not D23 members, apparently they can just sign up for the free membership.

My badges just arrived yesterday as well. PS it is cold inside not matter how hot inside. I wear lightweight pants not shorts, t shirt and a light jacket.

Whew! Just verified that my badge was automatically activated just as the email said. Now on to the next issue of getting into various panels.
Are we able to select panels for lottery now? I haven't activated my passes yet since I was on the Wish and waiting of it to resolve.

Not yet and the pass issue has been resolved. Disney activated the badges for everyone. If you login you should see the badge number next to the ticket on the manage profile page.

Tonight in social media posts, D23 shared that the event is now sold out. I wonder what capacity will be like since they aimed for less crowds due to the pandemic.

Up next we should be getting details on the reservations and overview of big and small panels. (Squeals!)

If they've aimed for less crowds this time, maybe we all will be able to get into the Hall D23 events. In previous years, tickets were sold to the general public but this time they only went to D23 members. Does anyone have any idea how many tickets were sold?

Anyone could be a D23 member (free memberships counted), though, to purchase tickets so it still was open to the general public just with an extra step for anyone who wasn't already a member.

I need to transfer a badge to my 13yo. She created a Disney account but is unable to access the D23 website to create a D23 free general membership. I have left voicemails twice for D23 Guest Relations, but have not received any call back. Is this related to the “under 18 year old issue” that you mentioned?

Per the FB group Ii'm a part of, folks with ticket issues may have better luck sending an email to D23 (apparently phone CMs can only log an issue instead of handling it and fixing it over the phone). I'd try reaching out to guestrelations@d23.com if you can

Im hoping they might open more d23 Halloween tickets. I had a family member who was debating about going to d23 expo so I didn't grab an extra Halloween ticket. Now they wanna go.

I came across this YouTube video and found it had some really good tips for the upcoming expo - especially as a first-timer! He's going to do a series of them leading up to when it starts. My favorite tip was don't use the convention center as the drop off point if using rideshare. That's something I wouldn't have thought of on my own!

Disney never really releases numbers, so it's pretty much a guess. I've seen calculations as high as 100,000 people in the past - that seems way off, it's not SD Comic Con by any stretch. It sold out super early this time around, is it less tickets or pent up demand or....?

Hall D23 holds 7000 people, so....so even cutting that 100,000 number by 25% means a lot of people vying for those seats. Of course, not everyone attending wants to do X (Hall D23 Legends panel or shop the floor or....) so....it's hard to know.

Man, those numbers scare me. I miss the Sorcerer days.

From prior numbers that 100k is combined attendance across all 3 days. Estimates were in the 30-35k daily attendees.

Does anyone know if once you transfer a badge to someone, can they transfer it to someone else if they can't go?
