D-Day Invasion- "Strange"-ly Imminent!! TRIP REPORT IS UP!!

Yes, you need a subscription in order to get any use from the app. But the app itself is free. Actually lines is nothing else than the mobile website of touringplans at m.touringplans.com, I can even access it when I use Safari on my Mac, not that this is of any use, but it is fun! The app just makes it more comfortable to use. So if you get a one year subscription, you can use it for that one year period.

I am glad that I could help out with the discount! :goodvibes I think if you own the current book, there might be even a deeper discount available... Check out their website. They recently changed the design and it has improved a lot! :thumbsup2

Oh and on that topic - they even have daily park specific crowd levels now for subscribers!

Thank you for the info! I have been on their site a bit lately - the new layout and look is really nice - a GREAT improvement! I am thinking this will be what we subscribe to and use Lines - the UG has been so good for us with past trips.

What is the "Scent of the Trip" for the Poly portion of our stay??

My answer: Jasmine

I cashed in on some DING Fares today!!

I got my trip down another $25 bucks! And now have enough "credit" leftover to buy a full ticket - I was able to merge my SW credits into one full fare (mostly!)!

I am excited! My round trip is now $144! Which is not too bad.

That is FANTASTIC! :yay: I think $144 is awesome!

And a bit of disappointing news from this household...we aren't going to make the DC meet. :sad2: When I looked previously transportation costs were CHEAP. They suddenly skyrocketed when I was all ready with the funds to book everything and get this mini-trip organized. They are over double. We normally would be able to do this sort of thing, but we just can't justify spending $400+ right before the Disney trip. Transportation alone will be over $100, plus 2 nights of hotel, and food...it just adds up to too much money right now. :sad1: I'm majorly bummed.

I hope to see lots of great pictures of the meet from you all! :goodvibes I know there will be tons of laughs and friendships made.

So sorry to hear about your friend in Afganistan. :sad2:

Question #10: jasmine, I think, no time to look with this short deadline!

Girl! I have been some kinda busy for the last few weeks. I will be at home in my own bed for the first time in 9 nights tonight! Call me!

I have a meeting with Lauren, her parents and her vocational rehab counselor this evening, but then I will be HOME! Woo Hoo! Call me!

I'm sorry! :guilty: I didn't see this until a few minutes ago, forgive me. I did text you but I'm pretty sure it's to late to even catch you by text let alone a call. I'm always up late so if your up and see this call me, don't worry about the phone waking anyone. :goodvibes

I miss you girl! We need to talk.

Well I stink. I saw the the others' answer so I know what it is NOW, but didn't when you asked it. I remember the Orange County discussions, and I remember the mint julep discussions but I must have been averting a bathroom disaster (or maybe in Utah?) when you mentioned jasmine. Sorry. :rolleyes1

I couldn't find the actual link but I remember the scents for all the different resorts etc !!so I am gonna guess Hawaiin Ginger !!!

Good Morning Liesa! Looks like things are busy for you since you haven't even made it onto your own thread! :goodvibes Good luck with all this last minute organizing!

Love your tip envelopes. :goodvibes

Morning, Sophia! It was really fun looking around for them!

:wave2: hi
love those tip envelopes. we leave in 8 days and now thats one more thing to add to my list. i love the dis;).
your trip is getting so close, so exciting

I have found so many great ideas here- the collective mind and all that. :grouphug: Now that I"m finally getting around to posting replies, you leave in only 6 or so now!!

I can't believe someone would do that!!!! :rolleyes1 (Well, maybe Glenn....)

I can.

I guess if the splash was big enough, it might wipe the smile off Tate's face........and maybe an ear, a nose, a......

That would be VERY tragic, indeed. That's why I"m not so sure I want to try the EE broken tracks picture stunt.

Nothing worse than getting your Taters wet!!!

:rotfl2: Nice one.

Is that anything like a cat with a furr ball?:confused3

A little like that- sometimes the wash and go look can be fur ball looking.

Washing with some of your scented hand soap can help with that!:thumbsup2

:lmao: I'll try to remember that.

TMI!!! :scared1: Would we have a picture worthy of besting "pumpkin head?"

Could very well be.

Hope you don't do your "tennis shoe" look at the same time!!! :rotfl2:

I can't even remember what this was in reference to. I'll be looking for new kicks when I get back, so as to lessen the tennis shoe look. ;)

Your envelopes are very cute! I once tried to do this, but it wouldn't print properly on my envelope...I'm sure it was a User Error, but I got so frustrated I've never tried again. I like your idea of just pasting them on. :thumbsup2 I just *might* try it for this trip.

Why thank you Madam! At least you gave the envelopes a whirl. I didn't even get that far. Glue and I are best friends! :rotfl2:

We possibly could still...depends on the time and how hot it is. Joe literally dried out in 30 minutes last September after Splash! We'll play it by ear. Or yes, perhaps later in the week....I would love to have someone to ride with! I'll be in MK again on Wednesday, September 8 for a while - LL is taking me on my first-evah HM ride! What are your plans for that day again?

MK in the morning until about noon, then hopping over to EPCOT. We could meet up at Splash or HM before then.

YOUR FIRST RIDE ON HM---- EVER?? :scared1::scared1::scared1: WHY??!!!

Thanks!!! It still totally tweaks with my head that I'm enjoying this. :lmao: And that I can do it...60 seconds was TORTURE. Now I actually look forward to my runs! The next jump is 8 minutes next week, then the dreaded 20 minutes straight...

I found the 20 minutes to be rather hard, and the 25 minutes are still nearly impossible. I think it has a lot to do with how hot it's been, as I've done 25 minuters several times, just when it was cooler. The double 8s weren't so bad.

That is so sad...I read what Magdalene wrote too about all the crazy things happening over there....sigh. :guilty: I will admit, since I've become a Mom, I'm completely out of touch with with is going on in the world - which is WRONG. I shouldn't be. I had no idea. I don't even realize what's going on HERE half the time. :sad2: Something I surely need to change. Joe and I talk about a plan, should another attack happen on NYC - but that's the extent. I'm looking forward to redemption day! But meanwhile, I really need to be a better solider!

Keeping up does take a bit of extra time and effort, but I think living overseas sort of makes it impossible to escape. The best website for international news is BBC.

Right on Sista!

:sad2: Saw this morning on the news. What a horrible tragedy.

As to question 10, I think it was...

:goodvibes

"Senseless" comes to mind.

Oopsie!! ;)

LOVE the idea of tate with a poncho!

Hmmn...brown capri's getting wet. May have to rethink what I am bringing.

Smelly answer is

Awful news Liesa, I am so sorry and sickened.

Cute envelopes, I am lame in this area, no fancy envelope at all. Just an envelope and note...which still need cash in them. I never carry cash, and not small bills so gathering it is a total pita! I think I have 3 "stuffed" so far. I'm down to 2 errands left for the trip and this is one of them (the other being buying coffee).

Now I just need to make a little poncho for him. That should be VERY easy-peezy!!

:thumbsup2

The whole thing was pretty shocking to all of us!

Me neither!! I figure though, if each one of us puts in a dollar, each day, that ought to do it. I"ve read that's pretty typical. That shouldn't be too hard to get done.

I'd say coffee is a VERY important errand! Given the non-existence of such where you're going.

During our last trip we talked to our housekeeper (who was absolutely fantastic!) and she kind of mentioned in a nice way that a personal note would be appreciated. My guess was that this is something that they can show their managers who will then see that the housekeeper is appreciated by the guests? I also meant to send a letter to Disney commenting on the wonderful service we got from specific CMs. Supposedly this really helps those CMs :goodvibes

Great idea to just jot down a note of personal thanks on the backs!! Thanks for the reminder!! I"m sure they do go a long way with pay raises and vacation requests.

Ok I was behind and trying to catch up but I just keep getting more behind so I am just going to jump in here. Your trip is getting so close. I see you are down to 24 days now. :cool1::cool1::cool1:

You can ALWAYS just jump in wherever you can!! No worries at ALL!!
We are down to mere days- hours in fact, from figuring out what to do with the last 2 puppies, having everyone pick up what they've bought from us, cleaning out the fridge, etc.... :scared1::scared1:

I'm way too far behind with the contests, but your questions look like fun. I love the tip envelopes. They are so cute. I would never be organized enough to do that, but they do look like fun!

Hi Mary Ellen!! Yep, we're down to the last minute fun stuff like envelopes and toiletries. I feel like I really need to be mostly ready for my trip before I leave here, because my time will be so very packed once I hit US soil.

I was so out of touch this weekend with trying to get everything done to take DS17 to college this coming weekend. I had completely missed the news about the incident with the medical team until you mentioned it. I went off and read the news articles. That is indeed so tragic and senseless! Again, prayers and thoughts with the people of this group, and all the families who lost loved ones!

(BTW, I must have ninja posted you on the previous page. I expected some rebuttals, even though my posts are always tempered and well thought out....lol)

My turn to get Andrew moved in is coming up on the 21st. Busy time, for sure!

To just slaughter 9 people in cold blood takes some serious amount of innate evil. The Good News is that they yet have time to be changed. I hope they can hear that someday.

Got to them, Smart Alek. :lmao:

Your scent for the Poly is Jasmine!

And the stud does it again!!

:cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1::cool1:

WOOT!!

That is a great fare- Honestly, I doubt you could have driven for that given gas, food and hotel!!!

WAY TO GO!!!

I discovered your trip report about a week or so ago and have spent a lot of time reading through it. One thing I have "taken" from your report is the idea to shop "around the world". I have Disney shelves in my living room that my husband has Disney buses and other ride vehicle cars, he's also gotten a few vinylmations. I bought some "lucky cats" in Japan last year....i think I am going to look for other "critters" in the other countries to add to it. I know Mexico has beautiful little hand carved "critters". Hopefully I can find something in the others too. We will be there in November during the last week of the Food & Wine festival so we plan on spending a lot of time in Epcot. So maybe "critter hunting" will give us something to do between food booths.

A MOST HEARTY :welcome: to you my new friend!!!

Critter shopping !! I LOVE IT!! I think you will do very well at this! Norway has the gnomes, China has little Buddhas, Norway has trolls, Mexico?? hmm....

I need to see this vinylmation thing for myself. I hear a lot of rave, but so far don't get it. :confused3 I think TrendE is where I'm hearing they can be found.

ANYWAY!! A great big welcome to you! Let us know if you have any questions that we can answer along the way about our trip- it's a massive thread that will be ending here in mere days!! :scared1:

 I bet you did! It's hard with little one's to shop in such places. Maybe you'll have to go back on an adult's only trip one day. :goodvibes

You'll have to let me know how the lemonade at POR is. ;)[/COLOR]

Yes!! Melissa needs an all adult trip!!! 2012???

I will let you know how it tastes, if I end up indulging. It sure sounded good to me!! Almost as good as the Tangierine Dream at AKV pool.

By the way Mama....are you by chance going to get a cell phone when you get back to the states and before your trip? Just curious.

YES!! I will have my cell phone when I"m back! It's a T-Mobile, pay as you go POC!! But hey, it makes a call, which is the point, right. I'll PM everyone my number after I pick up my new SIM card.

Classically GB! And so funny! :lmao:

You do know that 'Ohana tends to foster this? Why yes, yes you do, Mr. Meatfest.

That is fantastic!! I think roundtrip 144$ sounds like a really good price to me! :thumbsup2

It means more money for Main Street Ice Cream cookie sandwiches! :thumbsup2

My answer:

OK, got your answer!

:scared1::scared1::scared1::scared1:

I"m so sad!!! But can totally see your reasoning!! We do need to be responsible and wise, and it sounds like you are doing both. :thumbsup2

You know we'll be taking LOADS of pix, and we know you'll be there with us all in spirit!! We'll (you and I and maroo and LeeAnn) will have to make up for it with our own brand of goofiness when we get together at the BEST meeting place.:banana::banana:

Men! :sad2::sad2:

;)
You know we ALL thought it! :teeth:

I didn't.

But think it's funny enough that I"m still snort laughing. :lmao:

Phew. Just made it. Answer to Question #10:

:thumbsup2

So sorry to hear about your friend in Afganistan. :sad2:

Question #10:

Thanks!! What a senseless, horrible way to express ones convictions. :confused3

Your answer?? :thumbsup2

I know I did!

You and a lot of others. :rotfl2::rotfl2:

Well I stink. I saw the the others' answer so I know what it is NOW, but didn't when you asked it. I remember the Orange County discussions, and I remember the mint julep discussions but I must have been averting a bathroom disaster (or maybe in Utah?) when you mentioned jasmine. Sorry. :rolleyes1

Averting bathroom disasters is a top priority in my book. I think I'd have been sorrier had I been the cause of such calamity!! I know what total blowouts can do!!

I couldn't find the actual link but I remember the scents for all the different resorts etc !!so I am gonna guess Hawaiin Ginger !!!

Oopsie!! ;)

I'm hopelessly behind... but am just popping in to say "Aloha!" :wave2:

Kathy

WOW! Kathy, I haven't see you around the DIS in a long time! Is everything ok in your world?? Did you start that new job of yours?? How is that going??

Good Morning Liesa! Looks like things are busy for you since you haven't even made it onto your own thread! :goodvibes Good luck with all this last minute organizing!

It was a crazy busy morning! We got 9 boxes shipped off to The Big City by train today, and it was a whirlwind of zip tying the boxes shut, taping the cardboard ones, labelling everything again, etc.... Of course, a bunch of medical supplies we want to donate to the IMC we forgot, and will have to figure out a way to hand carry it there. :headache: We're such dodos!!

Friday is the big day for EVERYONE who bought furniture from us to pick it up, so I doubt I"ll be on that morning either. We're really down to mere hours now. Funny how you can try so hard to get everything done so you can coast your last days, but it still just doesn't happen. Busy-ness all the way until the very end!

Lots of you were able to do it!! You were successful in getting your answers to me in a very timely fashion, which means you must be ready for Question #11.

But first, the answer to #10 was- as most of you guessed:

Jasmine! That intoxicating scent surely to bring back many a tropical memory. Of course, GB thinks we have other ideas, and he may possibly be right. We are eating at 'Ohana, afterall. With all that meat....

So without further adoo, here is your next caper:

Where will the Belle Battalion be eating dinner on Sept. 9th??

If you're savvy, you'll remember that all of our scuttlebutt can be found in one easy to use handy, dandy super guide (that I kindly spent an hour updating today). Happy hunting.

I know what you mean! Everytime I was moving it had been like that: I think I am on top of everything and still I am up packing boxes until the early am... :sad2:

I hope you will still be able to find one or two quiet moments to say goodbye to your time there anyway instead of just stormin out of the door without one last look back. :goodvibes

Part of it is my DH, who takes procrastinating to unheard of levels. His mantraa, "yeah, ok, later."

Your "later" is now, Dude!!

We have a little party on Thursday to say good bye to our colleagues we've worked with for 10 years. That will be hard. Hard, but absolutely necessary!

Great restaurant! :thumbsup2

I sure hope so!! Still have to take one more look at that menu! I've forgotten what's even on it.
