CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 7/15-7/21

The lamasilk deal isn't working on the scrub because the scrub is actually on clearance (for 7.47 at my store!). I knew this in advance so I bought something else. I should have pushed it b/c I know the two guys (my favorite) that work at that one would have given me a gift card. I could KICK myself. Sheesh.

Well I have OTHER deals to brag about today! Got several items for free and I WASN'T at CVS!!! :cloud9:

At publix:

They had marked down 8lb bags of Iams dogfood to $5 (Had $5 off Qs)

Chew-ez dog bones clearanced to 1.50 (and $1 off Qs)

Purina Jumbones clearanced to 1.25 (and $1 off Qs)

Tic tacs (regular) clearanced to 0.35 (0.55 off two Qs)

And best of all?!!! They had Sara lee honey wheat bread in the front with a tearpad with Qs for FREE BREAD! I'm so embarassed..I walked right by! An employee saw me shuffling my Qs and sent me over!:flower3:

Best on shelf deal: I can't believe its not butter tubs BOGO @ 1.95 and I had 2 0.75 printables from Boodle. So less than 0.23 per tub!

The cashier and bagger were SO impressed. The bagger kept saying "I've heard about ppl like you ma'am but never have I seen one." You should have seen his jaw drop when I showed him my binder! He asked if my husband was interested in a divorce. I told him he couldn't afford it! :lmao:

But wait!!!! The deals DON'T END THERE!

Went to walmart to get free pens. (price match Bic pens with Kmart, they're on sell for 0.50 ea and I had two printables for $1/2 bic pens courtesy of boodle).

Well, they had a whole END CAP of clearanced food. Weird..never seen that before!

Hersheys cookies, york & cookies a creme flavors clearanced to $1 (and $1 off Qs)

Tic Tacs (BOLD) clearanced to 0.30 (0.55 off two Qs)

Disney princess frosted flakes clearanced to $1 and Vanilla Yogurt Cheerios clearanced to $1.50 ($1 off 2 Qs).

While I was there I picked up one more Onetouch ultra 2 monitor to donate. I was actually hoping for an overage b/c the monitor was 18.82. Well, this cashier told me that because the monitor cost less than the coupon value that I could use it, even tho it was the exact item. I told her to mark the coupon down (the register was actually PROMPTING her for a price and told her value TOO HIGH when she put in 20.00). She said she couldn't do that but finally went and asked a manager. Well, they told her the same thing. Don't you just LOVE schooling cashiers??? She was so irritated that I was right she started questioning my other coupons. :headache: Why do ppl feel they need to justify their mistakes by finding other faults? She saw my printables for chef boyardee and said she thought there would be a problem. I said "why?" She said "well, because you bought the cans." DOH! She was looking at the pic on the coupon of a microwavable. I said "Ma'am, read the fine print it says $1 off ANY 3 chef boyardee products." What kills me is I had watched her read it twice before she said that!

Oh, also wanted to mention I caught walmart on the right day. Kids got free high school musical 2 lanyards as we walked thru the door. They were thrilled!

So the Ultra Touch 2 is under 20 @ Walmart? not the mini? That is great - I have been holding that coupon trying to find it for under 20 - thanks for the info!
I also must say that the cashiers/bag boys are never impressed with my coupon binder! :lmao: They see me coming with my giant zipper binder and shut their light off!

LoL...it seems to be special occasions and situations. I have one CVS where I won't go anymore..this one long haired photo tech HATES my guts. He sees me coming and squares his shoulders (now thats bad!). The LAST altercation was our last b/c I refuse to go back:

I was attempting to buy clearanced vitamins (2.55 for a 30 day supply of menopause supplements for dear ole ma) and use a $3 off and lifefitness coupon. Well, he didn't think I could use coupons on clearance so I had to educate him otherwise. Well the manager confirmed what I had told him. Then I stepped out of the store, looked down at my receipt and realized that when he went to mark down the coupon (as both the manager and i had explained individually) he actually had RUNG ME UP for a 2.55 taxable item. Instead of getting it for free...I got charged twice. I'm not sure to this day if he did this intentionally. Well, I left the kids in the car with the windows down and marched back in and demanded a refund. This kid got SO flustered. How do you return an item twice without actually returning it. I worked retail and wasn't sure how they could do it without screwing with inventory. The manager (about his age mind you) came over and walked him thru it. I must say, she had the cutest little smirk on her face while she did it. I think she liked how irritated he was. :lmao:

What is the cheapest item that may be good for the $20 Lamisilk, Excederin, etc. deal?? I wanted to get 2 tubes of the Lamisilk cream but they are $9.99 so I am a couple pennies short. Is there a trial size Excederin or something that will work?

Thanks,
Maggie

I got the 10 pack of Gas-X capsules for 2.69 if that helps. Cheapest I know of.

Shannon, you are sooooo cracking me up right now! I love your determination. Man, if we ever went shopping together (along with Sally) we would tear it up!! LOL

Well..having worked retail and having been in charge of training more than once, I don't mind handing out some smack down here and there. What really irritates me is that no one has much confidence in the "customer is ALWAYS right " motto anymore. It seems to be more of "argue with the customer b/c the darn thing won't scan and then when the customer doesn't back down, ask a manager to back you up....at which point the manager verifies what the customer was saying all along...then find a way to make the customer look like a jerk b/c they WERE right and YOU WERE WRONG!"

Lol...I'd like to be in on some of these customer service meetings. I never get invited though. :confused3

:rotfl2: :lmao: OMG! I love it! Yeah, I have worked retail here and there as well, mainly when I was in college. And I never argued with the customers like the cashiers do now. It is quite appaulling. Makes me mad. DH gets so embarrassed sometimes because, well, let's just put it this way: I am not one to hold back when I feel that I have been done wrong. :scared1:

I went last night. I got their last 4 packages of toilet paper ($6.00 each) and 2 packages of Kotex ($4.50 each). They were bonus packages so there were an extra 10 in each. I could find the ones on sale so I asked a clerk. She didn't know so she sent her manager to see if they had any in the back. Showed in the ad and tried to tell him what I was looking for. He said "they're right here" and pointed to boxes of tampons. I had to explain to this young man the difference between pads and tampons. :rotfl:

Anyway, he couldn't find the pads in the 36 count and said that they were all on sale. The bonus packages with 54 didn't ring up on sale so they had to over-ride the price. I also used two $1.00 off coupons that were on the packages.

I also had a coupon for a free Cacao Reserve candy (from last Sunday's paper) Boy does it taste good!

I used a $5.00 off a $30.00 purchase coupon that was online.

I paid for the purchase with a gift card that I had from transferring a prescription.

The register only printed out a $2.50 EB so this same manager did something with the register and handed me $15.00 in cash.

So, I left there with 24 double rolls of toilet paper, 2 packages of Kotex, a chocolate candy bar and $15.00 cash in my pocket.

I really don't remember how I spent any of my spare time before the budget board, in particular the CVS thread! Thanks you guys for sharing your deals and entertaining stories. I love it!!

Ain't that the truth! My in-person friends think I've went into hiding.

You could have broken this up into a couple orders and used more than one $4/$20 coupon. Or you could have used a $10/$50, if there are any still valid.

But other than thay you did great!!!

You rule!:thumbsup2

:teeth:

I have about 5 more trips planned for tomorrow. I've got 8 more of the BOGO Loreal Pro Vive coupons to use! I have a couple errands to run, so I'll be near to several of our 8 or so CVSs we have in town! Goofyforlife and I seem to prefer the same one on Route 26. I think that is the one nearest to her, but I like the really cute manager that works there! :lmao:

I've been biten by the CVS bug and have done really well lately, but have some questions.

1. On every CVS trip I've had a "bonus" ECB print on my receipt for $5 off $25. BUT I didn't get one today. I did go to two CVS's today. Do you only get one per day? Or have I just been lucky to get them at all?

2. Does anyone know how I can get another $4 off $20 coupon that you get when you update your email? I got one week before last, but it expired on 7/17. It seems the one out now expires in December, but I can't update my email again, it says I've already done it. I'm just annoyed because my $4 off $20 was good for 2 weeks, but it seems if I'd waited to get it now, it would be good for five months!

3. I had my first "problem" today. I bought:
Lamisil lotion for $9.99 and Lamisil jock itch cream (yeah, I know) for $10.49, to meet the $20 requirement for the $15 ECB. BUT I didn't get the ECB. The cashier called the manager and she looked at the ad and said the picture showed Lamisil athlete's foot cream, so she had me go get that. So, she did the jock itch cream as a return and rang up the athlete's foot cream, and said I owed $6.50! Turns out instead of $10.49, the foot cream was $16.49!!! My $15 ECB DID print on that receipt. BUT I don't need or want the foot cream! So, I spent $16.49 on something I don't want to get $15 ECB back!

Had I noticed the price difference I would have gotten exedrin instead of the foot cream, but I thought it would be an even trade. AND I was flustered.

I thought of returning the Lamisil foot cream, but what about the ECB I got for $15. This was my first problem and I'm SO bummed!

Thanks for the help!

I've never gotten that coupon at the bottom of my receipt so you are lucky I think.

I did the $4/20 using a different email address and my husband's name and it only gave me one good for 2 weeks, but my daughter got one the week before that was good until December. Go figure - I don't know how it works.

Definately return the foot cream for a store money card. If they question it, tell them exactly what you told us. I'm sure they won't even question it.

I've never gotten that coupon either and go weekly! I hardly ever get anything printed on the bottom of mine, in fact I think maybe 3 x, and 2 of them were in the same day and a ton of them, nothing I used though.

I would return the cream, tell them what you told us like PP said and tell them you'll be happy to exchange for excedrin or the other foot lotion you wanted.

I'VE GOT A QUESTION FOR YOU = I HAD A COUPON FOR BOGO FREE SUNSILK AND WITH THE DEAL BUY THIS AND THIS AND GET THIS FREE I WAS REALLY HOPING THAT I COULD BUY THE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER WITH THE COUPON AND EXPECT TO GET THE TREATMENT FOR FREE WITH THE CVS SPECIAL DEAL. DIDN'T QUITE WORK OUT THAT WAY!

WAS I WRONG TO THINK THAT WAY? I DIDN'T BOTHER TO ASK THE CASHIER BECAUSE I HAD A VERY LARGE ORDER AND REGISTER DIDN'T GIVE ME BACK $15/30 DEAL AND SHE HAD TO REFUND & RERING THAT DEAL.

THEN WHEN I GOT HOME I ALSO NOTICED THAT I HAD FOUR FREE BARS OF ADKINS & ONE FREE PACK OF SHAKES (DOING THE NUTRITION DEAL I HAD $35 WORTH OF FREE PRODUCT TOWARDS THE $40 TO GET BACK TEN) ANYWAY WHEN SHE CREDITED THE COUPONS SHE ONLY CREDITED ME A BAR FOR THE SHAKE COUPON SO SHE CHEATED ME A LITTLE OVER $5 THERE.

ANYWAY, I GUESS AFTER ONE LONG CRAPPY DAY OF DOING ERRANDS AND THE NORMAL SHOPPING TRIPS I STILL MANAGED TO COME OUT OKAY BUT HECK I FEEL LIKE CVS STILL OWES ME $10 :rolleyes1 BUT I GUESS I SHOULDN'T COMPLAIN CONSIDERING ALL THE FREE STUFF I'VE GOTTEN OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS.
