CVS ECB deals - Sales for Week 7/15-7/21

I'VE GOT A QUESTION FOR YOU = I HAD A COUPON FOR BOGO FREE SUNSILK AND WITH THE DEAL BUY THIS AND THIS AND GET THIS FREE I WAS REALLY HOPING THAT I COULD BUY THE SHAMPOO & CONDITIONER WITH THE COUPON AND EXPECT TO GET THE TREATMENT FOR FREE WITH THE CVS SPECIAL DEAL. DIDN'T QUITE WORK OUT THAT WAY!

WAS I WRONG TO THINK THAT WAY? I DIDN'T BOTHER TO ASK THE CASHIER BECAUSE I HAD A VERY LARGE ORDER AND REGISTER DIDN'T GIVE ME BACK $15/30 DEAL AND SHE HAD TO REFUND & RERING THAT DEAL.

Can you be more specific? Did you do the sunsilk deal last week? The promo was Buy 2, Get 1 Free. One should automatically ring free when the cashier hit total, then if you give them your coupon, they should deduct the amount of one more, and you only end up paying for one.

If you are talking about this week where there was a promotion marketed via email for buy a shampoo and conditioner, get a treatment free, it SHOULD have worked, but many people have been reporting that the deal isn't ringing correctly for them, which may be why it didn't work for you.

I am happy about these deals since I am using all of this loot for me!! I have been eyeing the sally H products and needed a new eye lash curler. Bonus for ME!!

FOR THE SUNSILK DEAL - NO I DID NOT DO THE DEAL BEFORE THIS WAS THE ONLY TIME I'VE EVER PURCHASED SUNSILK AT ALL. NO THE CASH REGISTER DID NOT AUTO DEDUCT IT AT THE END SO BASICALLY I THINK I JUST LOST OUT ON MAKING THAT DEAL WORK WITH MY Q. I REALLY JUST HATED TO ASK ABOUT IT AND LOOK LIKE AN IDIOT ~

HOWEVER, NOTHING SEEMED TO BE GOING MY WAY TODAY SO IT REALLY WASN'T UNUSUAL. GOT TO LEARN TO NOT GO CVSing WITH THE KIDS! DOESN'T HELP WHEN THE REGISTER DOESN'T DO ITS JOB RIGHT THE FIRST TIME AND THE CASHIER HAS TO REFUND/RERING HALF YOUR ORDER. FUNNY HOW IT WORKED FINE WITH THE SAME PRODUCTS THE SECOND TIME. SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME LAST WEEK HOWEVER THE ORDER WAS SMALLER WHAT'S THE DEAL WITH THE REGISTER HOLDING BACK ON US WITH OUR BUCKS? IT MUST THINK I WON'T NOTICE. ANYWAY, I ALWAYS TRY TO BE OVERLY FRIENDLY TO MY CASHIERS SO THAT THEY WON'T START TO HATE ME AND DREAD SEEING ME COMING.

What I was asking is was it last week or this week that you tried to get the deal? The in-store deal was for last week, NOT this week. There was a deal advertised via email only that does not seem to be working.

PS.....It's a little hard to read all caps. Just thought I'd mention it! :goodvibes

Great CVSteals!

Thanks for the tip on the MK&A, that's a good use of that coupon and I'll get some for my 6 yr. old.

I've been biten by the CVS bug and have done really well lately, but have some questions.

1. On every CVS trip I've had a "bonus" ECB print on my receipt for $5 off $25. BUT I didn't get one today. I did go to two CVS's today. Do you only get one per day? Or have I just been lucky to get them at all? All CRT's are a crap shot - no rhyme or reason and seem to come in spurts. I get $4/20 quite frequently but am now going through a dry spell of only a couple.

2. Does anyone know how I can get another $4 off $20 coupon that you get when you update your email? I got one week before last, but it expired on 7/17. It seems the one out now expires in December, but I can't update my email again, it says I've already done it. I'm just annoyed because my $4 off $20 was good for 2 weeks, but it seems if I'd waited to get it now, it would be good for five months! I have 4 cards active in the system :confused3 I use 2 but have emails sent on all 4 - these emails I update periodically and this way I get 4 of the individual emails. Just a tip. Also the December $4/20 works and I have used it many time but some have said it is a fraudelent coupon so will not use it. I do not know if it is fraudelent or not but I figure that CVS is aware of it being out there and would make the code inactive if it is NOT a valid coupon. ALOT of us on this board alone have used it many many times. Email update coupon is usually no good after 2-3 weeks so who knows.

3. I had my first "problem" today. I bought:
Lamisil lotion for $9.99 and Lamisil jock itch cream (yeah, I know) for $10.49, to meet the $20 requirement for the $15 ECB. BUT I didn't get the ECB. The cashier called the manager and she looked at the ad and said the picture showed Lamisil athlete's foot cream, so she had me go get that. So, she did the jock itch cream as a return and rang up the athlete's foot cream, and said I owed $6.50! Turns out instead of $10.49, the foot cream was $16.49!!! My $15 ECB DID print on that receipt. BUT I don't need or want the foot cream! So, I spent $16.49 on something I don't want to get $15 ECB back!

Had I noticed the price difference I would have gotten exedrin instead of the foot cream, but I thought it would be an even trade. AND I was flustered.

I thought of returning the Lamisil foot cream, but what about the ECB I got for $15. This was my first problem and I'm SO bummed! When you make a return that is involved in an ECB transaction the amount is deducted from your quarterly total. It will NOT inactivate the ECB it helped generate and it can be returned. I usually return things paid for with an ECB or gift card without the receipt only because then there is no question on how to return it. Standard procedure without the receipt is to return it onto a money card. Now standard procedure would be to do that anyway when paying with ECB/GC but it seems to confuse many cashiers so I omit the receipt & payment type to bypass that issue.

Thanks for the help!

Hopefully I answered your questions - in the red. It's bound to happen sooner or later with the return issue, just be confident on the return instead of shaky or unsure. You are doing nothing wrong!

This deal has not been working for anyone. You should have gotten the shampoo & conditioner free with the coupon but the creme just is not coming up that way. You could call customer service on it but not sure how helpful they have been on this deal.

WAS I WRONG TO THINK THAT WAY? I DIDN'T BOTHER TO ASK THE CASHIER BECAUSE I HAD A VERY LARGE ORDER AND REGISTER DIDN'T GIVE ME BACK $15/30 DEAL AND SHE HAD TO REFUND & RERING THAT DEAL.

THEN WHEN I GOT HOME I ALSO NOTICED THAT I HAD FOUR FREE BARS OF ADKINS & ONE FREE PACK OF SHAKES (DOING THE NUTRITION DEAL I HAD $35 WORTH OF FREE PRODUCT TOWARDS THE $40 TO GET BACK TEN) ANYWAY WHEN SHE CREDITED THE COUPONS SHE ONLY CREDITED ME A BAR FOR THE SHAKE COUPON SO SHE CHEATED ME A LITTLE OVER $5 THERE. Call the store and ask to speak with a manager/supervisor and explain what happened. That you had a large order and did not notice until you got home that they had not rung through 1 of your coupons for _______. If the store manager is good he will have you come in and take care of the issue - usually give you a money card for that amount.

ANYWAY, I GUESS AFTER ONE LONG CRAPPY DAY OF DOING ERRANDS AND THE NORMAL SHOPPING TRIPS I STILL MANAGED TO COME OUT OKAY BUT HECK I FEEL LIKE CVS STILL OWES ME $10 :rolleyes1 BUT I GUESS I SHOULDN'T COMPLAIN CONSIDERING ALL THE FREE STUFF I'VE GOTTEN OVER THE PAST FEW MONTHS.

So on 1 I would return the creme if you don't want it. With the other I would probably call and ask about it. You could call and see what they say and if they are going to give you a money card for the coupon then bring the creme in and tell them you want to return that can they put both amounts on the money card for you.

I thought the MK & A bodyspray was a good deal as well. There wasn't anything in the case for me (I have bad allergies when it comes to perfume) but I know my dd7 would like this. They had 2 different bodyspray and I went with the jasmine instead of peachy smelling one. I was going to wait until the take 5 off of full fragrance and then use my cvsq ontop of that, but as I said nothing realy in that 9.99 above thta I could use.

Now to decide what to do at cvs tomorrow before the new flyer comes out (officially). I wish cvs still stock electrosol dishwashing stuff....I have 4 free q's and they expire at the end of this month.....I guess I can use them at our local market basket, but would have loved to work them into a bigger cvs deal!

Ladyredd- Sorry If All-caps Are Offensive To You! It Is Not To Be Taken As "screaming" But Rather Done For My Benefit As I Find It Easier To Read On My Screen.

SO AFTER VIEWING THIS POSTING ON THE BOARDS I AM ASSUMING THAT SOMEONE DID SOMETHING TO FIX WHAT THEY SAW AS A PROBLEM BECAUSE I ASSURE YOU THAT I POSTED THIS IN ALL CAPS AND IT CHANGED AFTER POSTING. DON'T HAVE A CLUE AS TO HOW THAT HAPPENED BECAUSE I KNOW ABSOLUTELY NOTHING ABOUT COMPUTERS.

I HONESTLY HAVE NO IDEA HOW THIS HAPPENED BUT HAS GIVEN ME A REALLY GOOD LAUGH THIS MORNING ???? OH WELL I'LL CONTINUE TO BE MYSELF

What changed? It's still all caps. This is probably the only board where people are nice enough to ask you in a very polite way not to post in caps. If you can read better in all caps, then it'll only be your own posts that you'll be reading well.

It doesn't bother me because my mom writes all her emails in caps, but to many, it makes it nearly impossible to read. There's a brain/eye sight reaction to it, not an emotional one.

edit: Now I see what you might be talking about, your first paragraph in that one has all the first letters capitalized. They might have some automatic formatting when they do cleanup at night.

I'm not offended by it, I was just saying that for most people, it's EXTREMELY hard to read when someone types in all caps. I usually skip all caps posts, but since it was on the CVS thread, I wanted to read it. You seem like a nice person who is genuinely interested in the topic, so I thought I'd mention that typing in all caps will be hard for most of us to read. I just figured if you wanted your posts to be read and responded to, you might try not typing in all caps because I know a lot of others skip posts in all caps as well.

Well, it was worth waiting until today for me to go to CVS. We get part of our Sunday paper on Sturday morning and there were a lot of useful coupons in there.

I got:
2 Purex @$4.99 (bogo)
2 Oust Air Sanitizers @ $3 ea.
2 Pledge Multi-Surface Spray @ $3 ea.
1 Windex Blue Spray @ $3
1 Windex Wipes @ $3
2 Scrubbing Bubbles Shower refills @ $4 ea.
1 Scrubbing Bubbles Spray @ $3
1 Ajax Dish Detergent @ $1
1 bag M & Ms @$2.99

I used (coupons from tomorrow's paper are in red):
$1 off Purex (any size)
Oust BOGO coupon (value = $3)
$3 off 2 Pledge Multi-Surface Spray
$1.50 off of 2 Scrubbing Bubbles refills
$1 off Windex Wipes
75¢ off 1 Scrubbing Bubbles Spray

$27.95 in ECBs
I paid $0 and got a $15 ECB ($15 for $30 purchase of select items).

So, I got all my stuff for free and another $15 off next week's shopping trip. Now I've got to go thru next week's ad and my coupons to see what I can get for next to nothing!

This may have been my BEST CVS trip ever! The register was up over $80 before sales and coupons and I paid only $8.96 out of pocket and got $2 in ECBs. Here's what I got:

5ct Papermate mechanical pencils $.33
10ct Papermate pens $.33
2 Purex detergent 2 x $4.99
2 Edy's Ice Cream 2 x $5,89
1 CVS wart remover $6.79
1 Duracell AAA 4pk $2.99(regular $4.49)
1 Duracell 9v $2.99(regular $4.49)
1 Playtex tampons $4.99
2 Cacao Chocolate bars 2 x $2.49
2 Skintimate Gel $1.99 (regular $2.99)
2 Right Guard xtreme 2 x $2.50 (regular $3.49)
4 Loreal Shampoo 4 x $4.99
1 loaf of bread $1.99

This totalled around $81. I needed the wart remover and the bread...they were the only things that weren't part of my "mission" and I've since figured out that without them, I would have only paid $.18 out of pocket but that's fine by me. Here's the coupons I used and what I ended up paying:

CVS BOGOF specials
-4.99 Loreal
-4.99 Loreal
-5.89 Edy's Ice Cream

Mfg coupons
-.75 right guard
-$1.25 right guard
-.55 skintimate
-.55 skintimate
-2.49 Cacao chocolate
-2.49 Cacao chocolate
-4.99 Loreal BOGOF
-4.99 Loreal BOGOF
-$1/2 Purex coupon
-$1.50 duracell
-.75 Duracell

CVS coupons
-$10 off $50
-$4 off $20
-$2 Playtex CRT

-$10 ECBS for filling out an online survery

Total spent......$8.96 with $2ECB back for next time.

Really, really pleased with this trip! I don't usually do as well as many of you so I'm feeling pretty good about this trip. What do you guys think? I am thinking I should go back and get more pens and mechanical pencils at $.33 each but the new Harry Potter book is calling me so I'm not sure I'll make it out again today. I only bought one each of the pens/pencils because they weren't marked and I wasn't sure if they were the right ones.

Good use of next weeks coupons! You rocked with that trip!!

I am confused, and what else is new. I just started this last week and had another order this week. Am I right when I read the post below that you can use a 10/50, 5/30, and 4/20 coupon on the same order on the same card. If so I did not take advantage of this. And I hate to think I did notget all that I could.:scared: :confused3

Some stores will allow this others will not, you would need to ask at yours. I am not comfortable doing it (yet?) but still get very good deals without the stacking. I just haven't gotten up the nerve to try it and generally my trips are in the $20 mark so I use alot of $4/20 coupons vs. getting bigger batches. I have no problem with others using them, I just haven't tried it myself.

1st - GREAT TRIP!

2nd - a little money saving home remedy I learned from my MD. he told me that duct tape irritates the skin and if I get another wart (he froze one off for me) that I should just take a piece of duct tape and put it on it and leave it there. It will iritate it and disolve it.
