CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 3/16/08-3/22/08

2 questions
1) how are you getting the 5/15
2)What is the playschool tote and how much is it?

Thanks

Doing the Dove deal yesterday, I bought some Dove deodorant on clearance that was right on the shelves next to all the other Dove deodorant but it didn't count towards the $15 limit. Just a heads up cause I realized after I left that I still need $1.53 to go. And a quick question - do some people have a Coppertone deal in their circular? I have Bullfrog (with no ecb's only $1 off) and I was wondering if sometimes there were different regional deals.

Usually clearance items do not count for the ECB total. The only exception I can ever think of was that some people found the Be Fine $1.99 packets on clearance last week and the eCB were generated.

We have a Coppertone deal. I forget how much you have to buy but you get back $7 in ECBs. I picked up 2 of the Continuous spray cans that were $9.99 each and used a manufacturer's coupon for $1 off and I got $7 ECBs. :thumbsup2 I needed sunscreen for our May trip anyway so this worked out great.

I have the same Coppertone deal in my ad. I think its buy 2, get $7 ECB back. Just so you know, those continuous sprays do not last very long. I brought one can to the pool with me one day last summer and by the time I was finished with the kids, the can was empty!!

p.s. Like my use of the multi-quote. :thumbsup2

5/15 was a printable on the wellness360 site that has since been removed.
The Playskool tote is explained a few pages back with a photo. They are clear bags with red trim that have a newborn diaper, new bottle, small travel size wipes and some coupons that can be combined with weekly/monthly deals for more savings including ones for Playskool diapers (on sale this week), Playskool wipes (monthly deal generating ECBs), Playskool accessories (buy 1 get 1 50%off weekly deal) and a coupon for free digital prints! Don't bother looking for them if you are anywhere near MN - LanaJae bought them all. :rotfl:

I have been burned with the clearance stuff before too.

Ugh on the Coppertone but they looked like the best option for wiggly boy. I will probably do the deal again on DH's card and get the regular lotion. Thanks for the tip.

GREAT use of the multi-quote!

Very impressive! I have yet to figure it out........:scratchin

One of the millers (smiller or hmillerbarilla) explained it very well earlier on this thread or last week's. Basically you use the "+" sign at the bottom of the page for each quote you want to quote until the last one and then hit the "quote" button and it quotes all of them in one post. Just go in and post your comments between each one. :)

Great, thanks! I will have to give it a whirl. :thumbsup2

Wonder how much it is at Costco? Where did you get the $1 coupon?

Yeah, they they empty just like that. But I love how it goes on. That sure if I ever will go back to lotion.

Help! I'm new at the CVS thing...but I bought the Claritin today, expecting to get $5Eb back, as advertised in the ad, and in the store. When I checked out, I didn't get it...what's up with that? Any recourse??? I want my $5.00!!!
I questioned the clerk, and she was totally clueless. She didn't even know what EB stood for on the receipt. Thought my fellow disers who are experienced w/the CVS deals might know something.

This happened to me a few weeks ago with the Colgate toothbrushes. I had clearly purchased the right kind and no ECBs printed.

I called corporate (store manager gave me the number, I think it was just the regular CVS 800 number?) and explained my situation. The CS rep looked up my card, my purchase, and reset the ECBs and said they would print within 48 hours, which they did. It was actually a whole lot of a simpler process than I thought it would be. :thumbsup2

I couldn't get them online; I had to get them on the bottom of my next receipt. If you have a store with a scanner, you could probably get them to print there. If you really need them before your next purchase, you could probably push them to have them show up on your online account.

Good luck! :wizard:

I remember last quarter I was able to print online the next day. Today I just checked and no ECBs. Now I know if I had been CVSing the right way I shouldn't have very many LOL. But According to my Winter Spending I spent about $700. so where are my 14 or so ECBs?? :P I want them I need them!!

Here is the other thing.. They say I spent $700, but there is no way on this great earth that I actually spent that much. I looked back through my bank account on-line since I only pay with my debit card and the total is only around $300. Still alot some might say :rotfl:, I know the trick is not get any Quarter ECBs but I still saved over $900. So my question is this how did they come up with a 700 figure I thought coupons didnt' count towards spending amounts?? That is my only guess?

Anyone get their Quarter ECBs??

Someone "in the know" at HCW said that when people use the "triple quarterly reward" coupon the spending total is tripled on allowable items (happens 48 hours later). They do it this way to do a straight 2% of the total rather than separating out the people who get 6% vs. 2%.

I went through my receipts and that appears accurate BUT I also noticed that the retail cost of my higher prescriptions increased the total too. I didn't pay that cost, I paid a co-pay. I had read that is a glitch that happened during Fall Spending.

Do quarterly ECBs just randomly print on your receipt at your next transaction? I have never gotten anything that said Quarterly ECBs.

Regarding my trip to my local CVS (in Cincinnati) and my coupons, I have reviewed my receipt and it appears to me that they DID deduct my coupons in my favor. The cashier was very clear that they are going to start deducting coupons for items BEFORE you reach the amount you have to get to to get your ECB. I did the BOGO Dove Shampoo, then I had 3/$3 coupons. This got me to $15.27. I therefore received my $5.00 ECB for reaching $15.00, even on the BOGO Dove Shampoo. Then she deducted my coupons. I don't know why she told me about the changes regarding the coupons, but it really bothered me and I am considering getting a better explaination from a manager regarding this. As I told my husband, why does CVS care, the manufacturer reimburses them for my coupon and if I can't utilize it at their store then I'll wait until super double coupons at my grocery store and shop there! I will advise when I get a better answer.

I know it's frustrating, but you are right and this cashier is just relaying misinformation or her own thoughts on the matter. It doesn't pay to argue with them and talking to a manager just draws attention to you as someone who might be trying things that shouldn't be allowed (and we know you aren't!)

I have a shift-lead at my store who doesn't like it when people get things free after ECB and use a mfg. coupon and she's always telling me that it's going to change and that people won't be able to use mfg. coupons to make things "free" or to make "money" on them. It's not going to change for CVS, they are the leader in mfg. coupon reimbursement, it's a huge part of their profit.

What I don't get is why the cashiers don't start shopping smartly themselves! There are some who think that if they take advantage of the deals that they would be hurting their jobs which, is so not true. Most, if not all, ECBs on new products are reimbursed by manufacturers along with mfg. coupons. CVS Corp. took a hit on the plastic eggs and jelly beans this week as a store draw, but not on the Listerine or the chocolate - compare the two - four 99 cent items which they probably own for 10 cents each vs. full payment for Smart Rinse. It's win/win and most people bought other items too which generated profit.

If you have over $5 you will get a call if you selected that option in your profile on CVS.com. It ended yesterday, I think it'll take 48 hours for them to print or be able to be viewed online.

The quarterly rewards usually have a black double-line border at the top, they look just a little bit different than other ECBs.

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

No, just come to my house and I'll give you as many as you want lol

or, I'll bring you to the stores that still have them, they keep filling up the display! I even tell strangers in the store to buy them, I just need them to go away.

I am so dense!

I don't know who won or how much I owe...

So, I decide to head over to my closest store before work. I walk in the door and cashier says, "hey we thought you'd be here when we opened today, some guy just took the last of the chocolate boxes and the kids mouth wash and there's only one jelly bean left, but it's spice and they're gross."

So, I go get a Maybelline lip thingy (lots of them and many nice colors) and I check out the clearance and make the usual rounds of looking for LypSyl and Vitamin C. Got 2 packages of plastic eggs (why oh why?) and the spice jelly beans and managed to find some other junk to get to $15 - actually one thing was good, it was Juice? brand (face serum) for $2.49, regular $19.99, and (drum roll) a Playskool tote.

I check out and give my coupon and the cashier says, "oh come on," you only have one coupon? Are you sick?" (confirms my internal shame).

I go to work and spend the afternoon handing out almond clusters at Target, which somehow made me decide that I had to have the boxes of chocolates at any cost, so after work, I drove to another CVS. They had about 50 boxes! Of course I got another Playskool tote and another jelly bean, and then (this is the best part), I found some new CVS magazine! It's 99 cents and inside was a coupon book and there was a $2 CVS coupon for Skin Effects, and I remembered that there was a $19.99 Skin Effects in the clearance for $3.49 at my closest store SO I WENT BACK THERE. I decided to use my husband's card and get another Maybelline and then 2 more packs of pastic eggs, and... another Playskool tote. Then I walk by the chocolate, and there are several boxes of it (huh?). Turns out it was the one with nuts (green writing) and the cashiers thought that didn't count so have been telling people it's gone since this morning.

So, instead of not going at all, I went and went and went.

Off to read about everyone else's day, hope they were all good trips!

I won.:cool1: :cheer2:
I knew there was no way you could stay away.:rotfl:

I went to a cvs that I usually don't go to today and I as I was in line the manager came over and said I'll ring you up well I was a little nervous to say the least I had a bunch of coupons a 5 off 15 and Mq plus I had to do 2 transactions with different cards ( I had already done the freebies yesterday with my card ) . Well the manger was super nice he said your one of those super couponers. both transactions totaled 0 oop!! he preteneded to take my name and told the other cashier to watch out for me he was laughing the whole time!

i went to my cvs and they didn't have the boxed candy I asked at the register and the lady gave me a rain check. Now how does that work after the sale and with the free coupon?? do they ring it up and then take it off as a coupon??? just courious
