CVS ECB Deals - Sales for Week 12/28-1/3

So I bought 4 of the listerine smart rinse (500ml on sale for $3.99 with $3 ECB back) and it didn't give me ECBs. I pulled a monthly circular off the rack and showed the girl that I had bought the correct items(correct size, etc) and she did the thing where they print you ECBs on the spot. I don't know why they didn't print in the first place as it was the right item. Anyway, I'm rambling...here's my question: Does this mean I can still get 5 more and have ECBs print? Or will it know that I got 4 of my 5?

Does CVS take expired coupons? It seems like most of the coupons people talk about would seem like they'd expire by now. Or does it depend on your store?

I have only had 1 cashier at one of 5 stores ever accept any expired coupons. Most of my other cashier go over every coupon with a fine tooth comb before they scan it. Drives me nuts!

I just resently starting CVSing. Here's what I did today at 2 different stores. I started with 2.00 in ECB's.

Awesome plan!

is the smart rinse a monthly or weakly deal ??we love that stuff !!

Monthly, limit of 5

Mine do, I don't know why, but they remind me all the time. No one knows for sure how expired they can go (one said a year lol and another said 6 mos. and another said 2 mos.) so I save up to 2 mos. past. I think, but don't know for sure, that stores have about 8 weeks past expiration to get them turned in, but most places use a service and I'm sure they need a certain amount of time for processing.

Walgreens won't go a day over the expiration date here.

Just ask - each district is different, our district manager says things like, "CVS is doing well, we can afford to be nice about coupons."

Monthly~ We love it too as DS13 has braces and the ortho told him to rinse with an anticavity, flouride rinse twice a day to prevent cavities behind the braces. He goes through this stuff like water so I was sooooo happy to see it on sale again, but then my ECBs didn't print and now I'm wondering if that's a good thing or a bad thing.

I see LanaJae is on so I thought I'd quote myself to see if you know the answer since you are so knowledgeable about CVS stuff.

3 stores by me........still 50%, and they have tons of stuff still, I wonder why!

Walmart went 75% today near me. I'm not a huge walmart shopper, but picked up a few things for next year and some plastic bins for the garage

Has anyone seen those CVS "magazines"? They're by the front counter for 99cents and it says they have a bunch of coupons in it. I quickly thumbed through it but didn't see anything that looked too exciting. Do you think it's worth getting for future purchases? I would doubt they'd put a coupon in there that would go along with any ECB deals they'll have upcoming.

Let me know if anyone's gotten one and what's in it. I figure if I need 99cents to get to a certain amount, I'll throw it in.

Oh, and I actually got the 5/25 coupon in my email today!!!

Made 2 trips today....both identical purchases on my card and DH's card:

5 Listerine Smart Rinse $19.95
1 Playschool wipes 80ct $2.50

Used:
$3/15
$3 CVS brand product

Total: $16.45
Paid with ECB's..... OOP $0.72......Earned: $15 ECB's

ECB's did not print, but the managers at both stores printed the ECB's for me. I know I have some coupons somewhere for the Smart Rinse, but I didn't have the time to look for them....as I knew they would sell out fast. Both of my CVS's were already out of the Throat Coolers and NasalGel!!

If nothing is showing on the bottom of your receipt, you can get 5 more when they get it fixed. If they input the "offer number," when an ECB doesn't print because the paper is out or gets mangled, then it will count against the limit, but since this one doesn't seem to be in the system yet, it has no way to keep track.

Most stores aren't typing the offer number yet because it doesn't force them to do it, but it's supposed to eventually.

CVS is supposed to go nationwide 75% off holiday on Sunday. This is the first they've let holiday clearance go this long.

The CVS magazines you saw are the Reinventing Beauty(RIB) magazine that are well sought after. I'm not sure which issue you have in your store. If you are going to purchase it, check that the coupons are not expired. They are notorious for having old issues out. I just read on another forum that someone recently found the issue with Rachel Ray on the cover...that issue is from this past summer. Anyway, there will be a pullout in the middle of the magazine, and sometimes another one glued to the front of the mag. I think the latest issue has Kate Hudson on the cover. Here are the coupons from that issue. I think the listerine q can be used next week. I don't have the exact details though.

$2/any U Smile Tooth Whitening purchase [[ex. 03/31/09]]
$2/any 24.7 beauty purchase [[ex. 03/31/09]]

Ok....lets see. I waited until this morning to finally get my butt over to CVS.

And I went right from work...so I figured I could do a few orders at 4am without being a pest.

I was wrong. :teeth:

First I started with a raincheck..
The sleepinal from last week. $8.49 with 8.49 ECB.

I got 2 and the cashier didn't really know what he was doing...so I ended up with $18 back in ECB in stead of $17.

And then with each order...it wouldn't accept my ECB's unless he scanned my card twice. that was weird.

So... here's the breakdown.

Sleepinal x2

8.49
8.49
used $3/15 coupon
and 11.98 in ECB

Paid $2 cash got $18 ECB

next

Excedrin x4
4.79(back&body)
4.79(b&b)
5.29(pm)
5.29(pm)

used
1.50 cvs coupon for pain relief
$3/15
4x $2 excedrin MFG
$2ECB
$4ECB
$5ECB
.66 OOP
Got back $10ECB

3rd order

8.99 Intuition razor
.99 blistex
.99 blistex
1.49 dawn
0.00 dawn (BOGOF)
6.99 CVS trash bags
3.49 CVS trash bags BOGO 50%

I used
$3/15 coupon
$3 off CVS brand coupon
$1 off Dawn
$1 blistex MFG
$2 Shick MFG
$10 ECB
3.12 OOP

Got back $5 ECB

Then I gave up...lol.. And put the rest all on one order

Pantene
9 x 3.50
And one was on clearance for 1.37? ~ I just saw this.

colgate
2x2.99

I used
$3/15 CVS coupon
5 x $3 Pantene MFG
.75 colgate coupon
$18 ECB

I paid 2.10 OOP.

Got back $10 ECB, $4 ECB

My smallest ECB was $4..I just couldn't get it closer to pay less OOP.

Oh...then as I was leaving I mentioned the throat coolers..I saw one on the shelf but I had a BOGO coupon...the cashier said if I told him where they were...he would get me another one.

apparently they just came in but he didn't know where they went on the shelves. :lmao:

So I got 2 kids throat coolers
4.99x2

used
4.99 MFG coupon
$4 ECB
99 cents OOP. Got back 9.98 ECB

I started out with about $20 in ECBs....and now have About $28...

I am STILL amazed how I am able to do that.

The Pantene texterize shampoo was $2.50 on clearance and gave the $2 ECB wyb 2.
The Pantene texterize conditioner was $1.25 on clearance and gave the $2 ECB wyb 2.
The Pantene texterize mousse was $2.50 on clearance and gave the $2 ECB wyb 2.

Hey LanaJae, i bought one shampoo and one conditioner, both on sale for $2, but didn't get the $2 ECB. Did i need to buy 2 of just one kind to get the ecb, or should i have rec'd the ecb even with one of each? I thought it would have printed either way...??

I knew i was doing really well with my other items, and even the pantene since i had the $3 off 2 (2 huge 24.8 bottles for $1 isn't bad!:) and was in a hurry so didn't check my receipt until later.
TIA!

Have any of you found this yet? If not, here's a heads up:

I'm guessing my stores don't have it yet, as I can't find it. What aisle did you find it on? I've checked the pedialyte area in the baby aisle, the childrens cold/cough area and the regular med aisle. The cashiers don't even know where to look! LOL
