Why o why cant I figure this out you all have been so good here. i know you go over it and overe it agian and agian But i am so confused..
I think i am confused because if I were to buy the exact items listed as someone else got then why is it I end up paying for them...
Example: 2 bottles of tide,5 dawn, 2 valentines m&ms and 5 speed stick..dont I have to pay for the speed stick? I know you get extra bucks back but dont i have to pay for it first? So how do you guys end up just paying a small amount...
if an item is Buy one Get one Free and I have a coupon for the same item that is for Buy one Get one free can I use it on the item??? Can I use to coupons for Buy one get one free??? Now are all of you confused? Welcome to my world

The key is that once you get started, you use your ECB to pay for items that produce new ECB. That minimizes any cost that you pay out of pocket. So, yes, technically you have to "pay" for the mennen deoderant, but you use ECB to "pay" for them, NOT CASH!

You want to make sure that with coupons, you are using about the same amount of ECB that you get back so that you can do this indefinitely. Sometimes you can even "make money" with an ECB transaction. For example, with coupons I was able to get the 20 Soy Joy bars, use coupons to get down to $10, pay with $10 ECB. Then I got $20 ECB back! I just converted $10 into $20!

I just want to point something out that you guys may run into.

At my CVS's (3 I frequent) they will not allow more than 1 CVS "$4/20" 3/15 coupons in 1 transaction. I can see how people can argue it, but this is not the intention of the coupons- the intention is to spend 20 and save 4, not save 4, then 3, then 2.

If you look at your coupons that were posted above, print 2 of them out....read the coupon- it says- "limit one coupon per customer"...technically you can print 500 of them...is it RIGHT for you to use them all? No, its right for you to use the one that you were allowed..

We have a lot of new people on the thread (myself returning from a CVS hiatus) who are banking on stacking these printable coupons. I do not think we should be telling them that this is the proper way to CVS...yes, it's lovely when it works, and if I could I just might but if they are going into their CVS expecting to duplicate someone else's purchases, and they can't stack...they are going to have an entirely messed up transaction...and possibly paying way too much out of pocket.

My suggestion to you that are new, is to go to your CVS, ask to speak to the manager, and ASK...they are going to get called up to override the sytem if they do allow it. If they do not allow it, leave the store, come back and figure out a new transaction plan...you don't "need" to stack these cvs coupons to "CVS"...

oh- as a side note, I do not mean this post in a negative way in any sense of the form! I am just pointing out that maybe we should not be relying on stacking...or at least pointing out to the new people that there mileage may vary...

It's good you posted this as there are so many new people - the last two weeks have been an explosion here.

The coupons all work and don't stop the register; however, the $15 off $75 needs a shift-lead/manager card because of the amount. This does not mean you can super-stack! People should always ask first, you don't want to get a young/new cashier in trouble if the store doesn't allow it. Many of them won't even look, they just scan them.

Stores in areas that are building new CVS stores like crazy usually will allow anything and everything the register accepts (and then some). After you see a CVS on every corner in your town, the rules get much tighter, you can almost track the areas on a map.

Writing about super-stacking upsets the people who can't do it or used to be able to do it, or the people who think that if you do it, you'll ruin plain stacking for everyone else (where totals add up, like spend $30 to use a $4/20 and a $2/10).

Newer stores in new CVS markets seem to want this to bring their sales totals up. After they are established, they will get stricter on $/$$ coupons.

CVS has a planned advertising/business model. They know what is going on, it's part of their customer loyalty plan - the hope is that you will stay with CVS for everything and, for now, it's working well. Let's say your store starts saying you can only stack - well, you just will get smarter about your lists. If they allow one coupon per transaction, you'll stay under $20 and so on - you probably won't say, "oh, I am not shopping there anymore."

That's how I think through it - use the coupons available right now to your advantage to get your initial OOP cost low, and let the ECBs increase and increase!

When you go to buy the Cottonelle, they *might* take the $10 ECB for a $9.99 purchase, they might not, or they might have to "push" it through as $9.99 and not $10.00. Just ask!

For the second transaction, I'd toss in one of the CVS Full Circle toothbrushes with tongue scraper, bring your total up to $12.98, use a $2 off $10 printable coupon and then pay $0.98 OOP. Then you get $2 ECB AND $2.99 ECB!

Looks good but I would make a few suggestions...

I would make the cottonelle your first trip thru. On that one add in a cheap filler item (pack of gum or candy bar, etc.) and use a $2 off $10 printable coupon http://www.cvs.com/CVSApp/cvs/gateway/promotion?pid=6051&step_nbr=160 Also check your coupons for a Cottonelle coupon or register and print one out here http://www.cottonelle.com/coupons.aspx Less OOP Then do your Pepsi scenario but also use the ECBs just earned from your Cottonelle You will $10 left in ECBs instead of $2.


Also check the date on your ECB. If it is from last fall it is probably expired (unless you mean the one from your 4th quarter 2007 spending.)

I hope that helps. Whever I do my scenarios, I always look to see what items I can match manufacturers coupons with in order to maximize my savings

Got back $8 ECB for Soyjoy, $3.99 ECB for deodorant, $3 for M&Ms and a boatload of CRTs, probably because I haven't been in almost 2 weeks. I barely scanned the ad for this week before I went in. I saw the sign for the green M&Ms in the store, but didn't realize they were also BOGO, so I had only picked up 1 bag. Of course, I saw it on the credit card machine screen and it said they were BOGO, so I had to run and get another - and of course, I was on one end of the store, the M&Ms were on another, and there was a line.

I had asked the manager (kinda cute, and a nice guy!) if they had any other flavors of SoyJoy in the back (only Berry was on the shelf) and he said "they only make the 4 flavors". I said what 4 flavors? Berry is the only one out. They had a whole middle aisle dedicated to those bulk pack monthly deals and the SoyJoy display was there. I said thanks and he asked "Are those any good?" I said I'm not sure, I haven't tried them, but I've heard all ends of the spectrum!

Then I swear he was doing his tasks around the store so that he could follow me around!

If you can find it, Sambucol would be a good way to roll the $19.95 into two $10 ECBs.

I don't know about the Fusion, hopefully someone will test it and return if it doesn't work.
