Cuttlbug-OH NO !

Just got an e-mail from a friend that works at Michaels.She was told that they are going to stop making the Cuttlebug. I better get out and buy some more folders and I have not had mine that long.

Oh I hope that isn't true! I have actually been impressed with all the new embossing folders. I thought that was a smart direction for the company to go -- I can understand where the dies have "kind of been" replaced by the cutting machines. But we need the embossing!!!!!!

I wouldn't panic yet. Sometimes people confuse "we aren't going to carry this product anymore," with "this product is being discontinued."

Or, it could just be a new version coming out. Which I think is true anyhow.

At least I know I can run the Sizzix dies. It's just a matter of finding them.

I had a rain check from the last sale at Michaels for the Cuttlebug. The store called last week and said the line has been discontinued by Provo Craft and therefore they could not honor the rain check. I'm really disappointed as I've been purchasing the folders here and there when I've found them on sale and could work them into the craft budget. Now what am I gonna do? I'm not purchasing off ebay - the price is outrageous!

I too think they will be coming out with a new one- or someone mentioned a bigger one that has recently come out. They have started creating folders to match the cricut carts so I think they will keep making it since they are continueing to make folders for it.

Michaels has Cuttlebug and Sixxix (?) folders on sale this week. 40% off in my store.

I emailed Provocraft and asked if the Cuttlebug was being discontinued. Here was their reply:
The old Cuttlebug or also known as "Version 1" has been discontinued. No need to fret however, the Cuttlebug LINE has not been discontinued. Provo Craft has released a second machine, Cuttlebug V2, that should be released in craft retail stores near you. I hope that you are able to find this information helpful.

I work at Michaels and teach scrapping classes there as well. I knew that the green cuttlebug had been discontinued and that an new one was coming out, but it is good to hear it from provocraft and not just michaels.

If you want something to get you through until the new cuttle bug comes out, sizzix makes a mini embossing machine that the cuttlebug embossing folders work in. It is blue and looks like a little purse and Michaels sells it for 29.99 and if it is not on sale you can use a coupon on it. This week a 50% off coupon is printing that runs from 1/9-1-15 is printing at the registers.
