I think there's a fair amount of lack of perspective to go around. I have to say, for all of you so adamantly determined to cut in front of others and they should "just relax" and "what's the big deal" - I've got to say - what's the big freaking deal about everyone riding together?
Let's leave out the kids having to potty - the number of people who have an issue if a parent has to run their child to the bathroom in the middle of the queue is tiny. The idea that Mom or Dad have to run and get FP or finish their shopping trip or otherwise do something more important than waiting in line and then cut in front of the others waiting - get over yourself. It's straight up rude. If it's that important to see your darling's face on dumbo or the teacups - get your *** in line - otherwise they can tell you all about it after the ride - it's your vacation right, why sweat the small stuff.
And BTW the poster with the asinine supermarket scenario - the analogy of forgetting the milk equates to the kid having to potty - most people don't have an issue - but if you park your husband in line while you run around shopping and show up with a cart full of groceries, there's no way that isn't cutting in line and would be bizarre for any normal person.
And to drive a nail in the coffin of the idea that it's allowed by Disney - my nephew had his AP revoked at DL for trying to hold places in line for a group. It is absolutely against the rules and regulations of the park. It may be enforced sparingly - but then again so is speeding (compared to the number of people doing it), but that doesn't mean that it isn't contrary to the rules.
