thats a good point. I ahve never waited very long either...it isnt difficult to plan your day accordingly. After reading this thread....it makes me WANT to cut in line of some poor schmuck that wasted an hour by not planning better...;)
And, honestly....i have also never encountered any issues like this. But, then again...i probably wouldnt notice. I dont spend my days worrying about others..

Alot of people don't have the convenience of taking their vacation during off peak times and have to go during Christmas. All the planning in the world is not going to get you out of waiting in lines.

I don't wait in line more than 20 minutes, even in busy times, because I choose not to. If the posted wait is longer than that, I go do something else and try again later. Most of the rides with known long waits have FP.

Lol, do confronting is ok for line returners by not for hurting a child. Got it.

I have only confronted someone, a line cutter, once and that was despite it happening numerous times on numerous trips. I find it truly amazing that others have not have it happened. It is pretty common place in WDW where they do nothing to enforce it, but rarely happens in Hershey Park where they enforce it big time. I usually chose NOT to confront despite the fact that if affects my family in the line.

But despite the fact that it would kill me beyond belief to see a parent spank a child, or slap a child, it is none of my business, it is not illegal, it is a different parenting style than I am NOT comfortable with but allowed. It goes against no rules or laws at this point. It is becoming more and more unacceptable in today's society which is a good thing, but it is still not my place to tell someone else how to parent their child. It does not affect my family at that moment is my point therefore I should stay out of it.

I have gone during the dreaded crowded summer months, where massive amounts of liquids need to be consumed, that would call for all these emergency potty breaks...and I have NEVER waited in a 90 minute line:confused3

I'm just shocked. Because I am considered Disney Elite, I have never actually waited in a line for more than 10 minutes. Who are these people waiting hours? So no, I have never experienced line cutting. And if you toured smart you would not either. :confused3

Wow! How do you get into the Disney ELITE club ??!!??!! :)

We visited this year during NYE. Lines were long no matter how you played it.

While waiting in line, I ended up needing to visit the little girls room. I asked a host if I could step out of line and then rejoin my party. The answer was yes. When I returned, the worker helped me rejoin. No issues with Disney. Shouldn't be an issue with fellow travelers.

One or two people shouldn't be an issue. One person holding a place and 10 showing up should be an issue ;)

The difference is that you did the right thing and asked. You didn't just assume all the other peons should just get out of your way.

Common sense!:thumbsup2 I come back another time, whether it is another hour, day, or year!

thats exactly correct. There is NO reason for a long wait..unless one simply doesnt know what their doing.

We've been going for years and have the touring plan down to a science...except when we go the week before Easter. Then EVERYTHING has at least an hour wait.

We've been frequent Disney visitors for years and usually face no issues, but NYE, there just was no way of getting around it. While we knew enough to avoid 3 hr lines and rode everything we wanted, we still waited a bit more than usual.

Then you must have skipped some rides.

When I was last at Disney World, and I was a teenager then, my group witness a few people cutting the line throughout our visit. One time in particular three of us (all teens) blocked a small group trying to cut at the Haunted Mansion, much to the happiness of everyone else around us. Apparently the group had been doing this all day, pushing their way forward claiming they deserved to be in front because they were a group with kids (yeah there were lots of groups with kids waiting patiently). We refused to move and body blocked them from going further, then other people around us demanded they go back to the end of the line. They did when a cast member noticed the commotion, they quickly went allllllll the way back hehe. :cheer2:

Our group was so used to standing in line, we never cut and always blocked people who tried it. We were always at some park for marching band and spent a lot of time entertaining ourselves as we waited in various lines. No big deal, we knew we would get to ride whatever eventually. :D

The point is it's not against the rules.

Off-Topic

You can do every ride in a park with under 30 minute waits if you know what you're doing, even in crowded times, it's just a matter of being fast and efficient. personally, I'd rather take my time and enjoy myself.

If I was home, I'd post my new favorite picture of the 480 minute wait at Soarin' on NYE! And there were still people joining the line like mindless cattle. Now that was a bad situation.

So I'm wondering about those of you who think they must confront the evil line people. Are you always so confrontational. Do you battle everyone you disagree with? I always figure dealing with others is like dealing with kids. You learn to pick the battles. I cannot in a million years see the positive in dealing with the world with all the anger. The fact that your angst at others would be so bad that you need to upset others around you without consideration is just plain sad.

It sounds like you assume everyone who confronts a cutter does so as a raving lunatic which isn't the case. A person can very civilly not move for a cutter and also point out where the line begins.

I find it pathetic to continually let people be rude, break rules, and walk all over other people who are trying the follow the rules and do the right thing. Doing nothing is what perpetuates the behavior of line cutters. They keep testing the waters because people are so afraid to say anything. You go ahead and just keep taking it and taking it. Sorry, I can't stand around murmuring into my armpit how I don't like that line cutter. I feel like the least I can do is let that line cutter know of my discontentment. It isn't ever about the few minutes more I might have to wait, it's a matter of principle.

Nope, never:goodvibes....EMHam or the pick the park that had EMHpm the night before, got lots done first thing in the morning for all the headliners, FPed and rode things again later in the day before the enforcement, and after the enforcement followed the times but still rode everything. Saw all the shows we wanted to see, rode all the headliners, bc DH and DS are HUGE thrill ride guys. To me those would be the ones with the longest waits. Only things we skipped were Stitch, Captain EO, Sounds Dangerous and ITTBAB in AK in all our trips. I have never ever seen any of those. All character greetings for the most part when kids were younger were handled with meals, and then when they got older still had at least one character meal so we were never standing in those lines either. Never stayed longer than 7 days. And in all that time we either all used the bathroom before the ride, or left with the one child who needed the bathroom and all rode later. Travelled with young kiddos, travelled with my mom who had diverticulitis and wound up needing surgery several months later. I myself have IBS issues. And in the days before FP when lines were super long, travelled with a brother with a Dx bladder problem. So I know all about needing bathrooms and yet never once have we had to be rude to other guests and reenter a line! Amazing!

20 pages of back and forth and no one is going to change anyone elses mindset Some people have been totally rude and confrontational I mean really telling another poster to shut their mouth Wow just wow

just really surprised thread hasn't been shut down by now :confused3
