Customising Magic Bands From The UK

It should be that simple but at the moment when you try to enter your home address the drop down for county only gives the option of the US, Puerto Rico or the Virgin Islands.

I've tried many different options but non work

Same with me you can't put a UK address in it won't allow you to.
Really odd. I only just did my last one in late December!
 
Also having the same problem - I've just booked a resort stay and it will only let me enter a US address which I have to do before I can get to the next screen. I don't have the 'customise by ........' Just a button which says 'get started' which brings up a pop up that asks me to enter an address which can only be a 'US' address.

I haven't stayed on site since they have been introduced so this is all new to me.

Any ideas how to get around this? I booked on the US site if that makes a difference
 
I booked with Virgin so emailed them Thursday, they said they would contact disney about it so hopefully it will get sorted soon.

Your best bet is to call Disney Tech support directly, after midday on 0800 169 0749.

Virgin's 'Disney Specialists' have told me multiple incorrect info ranging from when you can link your booking in MDE, when tickets should show up, when you can make ADRs, the list goes on!!!
 
Great - I've just entered the hotel address, and it lets me customise. Lets hope they're there!

If I do a second reservation - We're splitting our stay with a DCL cruise in the middle, do we get a second set of magic bands or are we expected to keep the originals?

You get one set of magic band per stay but you can decline the second set if you don't want/need it
Whatever you choose you will be able to use set #1 for your second stay. But many here like to get additional sets in different colors so we can match bands to our clothes :)

I can confirm that we have done this. We live in Norway, and stayed at Art of Animation during the summer of 2014. We put the address of the resort in the field (actually, we had the CM on the phone do it, after they confirmed that this was the proper way to do it if you live overseas). We got our customized magic bands, no problem! :)

Logged on today to customise my Magic bands and it seems they have resolved whatever issue they had. When I clicked on the add my address link, my address was already filled in and the UK is now on the list of countries.
 
Virgin's reply was.....input Disney resort address but only 7 days before you fly
 
At the moment under magic bands and cards its saying "Don't See a Purchased MagicBand?/Don't See a Resort Reservation MagicBand?" and telling me to link my reservation. I've already done this as when I re-enter the info it tells me. Do I need to be closer to my travel date or I'm I having another issue.

If I leave it until I arrive do I just get a colour already chosen for me?

your magic band have not been issued yet, so you won't see them under magic band and cards
but you'll see a "your orders"section on that same page (above the "don't see a resort reservation magicband")
or click on ]Personalize Your MagicBand on the main MDX page
you need to enter an adress to start the process, if you so have in the past, you'll have the "order" link, if you haven't done so and don't see that, you may need to call Disney

Just a quick update, I phoned the UK MDE helpdesk although when I answered they called it something else. I explained and she did something and then I just logged back in and went to Magic bands and cards and there it was my Magic Band waiting to be customised. :cool1: So thanks again for the help.

  • If you do not customize your MagicBand until 5 days or less before your arrival, you will receive a non-customized MagicBand when you arrive at your Disney Resort hotel.

Always ignore everything Virgin Holidays tell you, they are almost always wrong.

When you book direct with Disney, the default address for delivery of the MBs is the Disney office in Hammersmith, London.

It just needs a non US address in there to get sent to resort.
 
If you have problems getting the address enter to customise your bands ensure your UK address is in your profile.

I have never had any issues customising as it always just comes up with a pop "is this your correct address?"
