Curtain for sink area?

We will be bringing my sons babysitter with us on our next trip and I am wondering about privacy for changing cloths. I know there is a door for the actual toilet/bathtub area but is there a curtain for the sinks. We are staying at POP and AKL.

Pop definitely does not have one (we stayed there for a few days last month) and I am not 100% sure about AKL but I don't think they do either. Maybe it's just the mods. I am about 97% sure!

As the OP said, Pop doesn't have one and the bathroom isn't large enough for anyone to get dressed in, IMO. We haven't stayed at AKL, but the bathroom is probably larger and would be easier to get dressed in.

No curtain at AKL. The only place for total privacy is the bathroom. A curtain here would really look odd.

If you were driving, you could rig one. We will be doing this for our Jan trip because my wife gets up earlier than my DD and I and the lights from the vanity would wake us.

I will bring an expandable shower rod and an extra colored sheet. In your case, it would have dual uses. Keep in mind that while she's changing, she should turn off the vanity lights and only use the bathroom lighting or everyone in the room will have a silouette show of her getting dressed.

Even if you fly in, you can still have your curtain. I take a cafe rod, one that telescopes, and it pretty thin. Then I hang a fabric shower curtain on it. I can't tell you how large the opening is exactly but I think my rod opens to be about 42" or so when I put it up. And, it doesn't take up much space in my luggage.

I saw this tip YEARS ago right here and it has come in handy when we travel with friends in our room.

Scoot on over to Value City (or any discounter in your area) and purchase a shower curtain and a package of CONTACT hooks. (Contact hooks are stuck on a surface but can be removed when you no longer need them - leaving nothing on the wall)

Just place the hooks on the wall where you would like a privacy curtain and remove the hooks before you checkout.

The great thing is Shower Curtains are big enough, they have the holes already in the fabric and you just take down the curtain when you are ready to leave for the day and it's not in the way.

We have used this system VERY effectively at the Beach Club and Grand Californian. We turned the bathroom area into a dressing area.

I wasn't sure. When we stayed at WL in August we had a HC bathroom with roll in shower, so the bathroom was huge. We will also have this kind of bathroom at CR and AKL. I figured since it was a Deluxe, it might be larger. know the bathroom at AS Movies is really, really small and hard to get it, even for my skinny minnie 16 yo cousin.

Really? I didn't find the b/room that small during our stay. We had plenty of room to change.

The handicapped bathrooms are larger but the room size is the same as standard room. That means there is less space in the sleeping area. Most of the HA rooms with roll in showers in the values and mods have a king size because there is not enough room for 2 doubles in the sleeping area.

I have many of the Suite layouts (AKL, WL ,GF, CR, etc) and most of the DVC layouts.

I am still seaching for more of the HA room layouts.

If so please take lots of photos and post them on the All Star Music Family Suite FAQ thread.

We are staying in the AS Music Family Suites in April/May and again in December and we have requested a HA with roll-in shower. I will be happy to take lots of pictures (my new hobby), problem is my camera is a film camera not a digital, maybe I can get a digital before we go and I will take alot of them to post.

Of course, I have the Passporter that has the room layouts for all of the regular rooms, but not the HA rooms. That makes it a little hard to decide where to stay, so we have just had to stay at each of them to find out . I am still not usre why DH and I got a HA room with roll-in shower at WL when we went in August, because mom didn't go with us and we didn't request the HA room, it sure was nice though.

I was hoping that Passporter would too, but no such luck. Maybe a suggestion to the authors would help, I will give it a shot.

I will take alot of pictures at CR and AKL HA rooms next month and get my cousin to help me post them.

Either option is not good for making rope drop. Add in a 4 yr old who doesn't seem to think any one needs privacy and this is going to take some planning.

So this leads me to the next question I guess. For those families that have both boys and girls how do you work the morning routine so you all get to the rope drop happy?

Have you concidered a Family Suite at All Star Music?
You would have a QUEEN size bed in the master bedroom area.
You would have 2 sleeping areas, 2 TVs,2 bathrooms each with its own privacy curtain by the vanity area and a kitchentte with a microwave, fridge and coffeepot for a quick snack.

The sofa foldouts into a double bed. The chair and the ottoman foldouts to make twin beds.

DH and I stayed in a Family Suite at All Star Music ( a value resort) in Sept. of 2006.

We really enjoyed the Queen size bed, the kitchenette with the microwave, having a sofa and cushioned chair to sit on and relax after a day at the parks before retiring for the evening.

I thought the pullouts very comfortable.

They are designed so the back cushion and seat cushion of the pullout support the pullout. There is no metal bar to hurt the sleepers back.

We put a curtain up in front of the sink area at Pop and it worked great. I got a plastic shower curtain at the dollar store and a pack of 3M sticky hooks. As another poster said, they are plastic hooks that stick directly to the wall. When I pulled them off, they didn't leave any marks. When I was changing, I would hook the curtain up on both sides. It was also useful to keep out some of the light from the bathroom area. Sometimes DH or I would get up before our boys and we didn't want the bathroom area light to bother them. Before we left for the day, I would just unhook it on one side so it wouldn't be in the way of the mousekeeper. Before we flew home, I tossed it in the trash. It only cost a dollar and served it's purpose for 10 days!
