Current protocols? Elevators? Masks? Buffets?

Have you heard if DCL is going to offer any compensation for such a diminished experience? No adults-only dining? No kids clubs? That's a lot to take away.

Thank you all for the details!

sorry to hear about the Fantasy. I wonder how the other boats are doing?

Does anyone know if pirate night is still going on due to COVID?

They had a mini pirate night with a show at dinner. The bandannas were now on the table instead of being provided by your host in your room. There is a pirate menu. The show consisted of some pirate dressed CMs leading some songs and cheer. The waiters will also be in pirate outfits. People do still dress up.

As for the fireworks show, I couldn’t tell you what it is. It was at 10:30 pm that night and I watched from my Verrandah.

They’re severely understaffed. Sounds like an outbreak to me.
A post on another thread indicated many are quarantined but tested negative so presumably the quarantine is due to close-contact -- could be other staff or guest.

On the Fantasy last week, no pirate menu or bandanas, but I think because it was Christmas Eve/Christmas so they had broadcast of a mass in WD Theatre. The crew were not allowed to get off in Cozumel, their crew staff holiday party was cancelled and their bar/lounge was closed. They weren't allowed to disembark in PC when we got back either. The lifeguards and other staff while outside, had to wear masks after our Falmouth stop. Bingo was 11:00 and 4:00 and then 4:00 on one day. Interestingly, Tony from Spain was the caller, but towards the middle of cruise he had to have the CD and Assistant Cruise Director with him because the usual staff was not here. The dance party on deck with the characters only had Tony dancing, no other staff. Cozumel day had no Bingo, nor Castaway Day. Also, unlike the line for the WD theatre, the bingo line only one person would stand in line, but would have a family of 4-6 join them. So, by the last day, there looked like only 10 people ahead of you by 2:00 pm but they allotted for approx 40 people. Crazy.

Was is still the pirate night menu, even without pirate night? Or was it a different menu?

We were on the fantasy for Christmas...

I don't think it was the pirate menu. There were some pirate "activities" going on around the ship that afternoon/evening and pirate photo backdrops. But NO bandanas in staterooms and nothing stating it was officially "pirate night".

Do you recall who the cruise director was? Thank you!

On the Dec 12-19th Fantasy, there was the pirate night menu, bandanas, and "show" in the dining room, then Very Merrytime fireworks that night. So it might come back after the "outbreak" calms down. we also went to one of the mid-week bingos, got there about ~20 min before the presale time, and were one of the first few in

My family is on the fantasy right now, my daughter was positive so we couldn’t sail. I’m in contact with them and they say Palo and Remy are closed for the week, kids club has a max of 5 kids. They’re severely understaffed. Sounds like an outbreak to me.
I am on the Fantasy now. Remy and Palo are NOT closed, or at least they have not been closed for brunch. We went on Monday and I know others who have had brunch on Tuesday at both of them. Vibe and Edge have been closed except for a few hours on Sunday (embarkation day) night due to staffing shortages as discussed on another thread.

I'm drawing a blank as to how that helps reduce the spread of Covid, or how it's any easier for a dining room host to lay them out than it is for a stateroom host. A little difficult to put a bandana into your hair at the table with no mirror.

Thanks for that! We are on the next Fantasy sailing. Sunday Jan 2. Please keep us posted!

Your guess is as good as mine. Some things made sense, other things did not.

Probably not related to covid, just a change in procedure.

How about the outdoor bars? Are they restricting seating at or near the bars?

I have not sat at the outdoor bars but walked by and there were definitely people sitting at them. In the indoor bars I have noticed that there were a few seats blocked off for spacing but you could still sit at them and if you were one party you could move the blocks to keep your group together.
