Current Incentives and price of BCV

Hi,
Are the current prices for SSR and BCV the the same if you waitlist as a new owner for the BCV? A friend of our son has asked me to find out. I know about the price increase as of July but they are not looking to buy until next year. Are the free AP's only for current members? I recommended SSR becasue they are a young couple and the extra years make sense. They think they want the BCV and are willing to wait on a list. Thanks,

Any incentives (for example an $8/point credit towards the down payment, or free APs or whatever) only apply to purchasing points at SSR. I don't know exactly what those incentives are at the moment, but someone else who has recently purchased a new membership at SSR will probably be able to answer that. The current prices are SSR: $101/point; BCV: $95/point.

Like LisaS, I don't recally the exact specifics of the current SSR promo... I do know it involves either free tickets, or free APs and the $8 incentive, but it depends on how many points you buy. For new members, I believe it would be free APs at either WDW or DL.

For BCV, best bet would likely be thru resale. Sometimes you can get points direct in a short time (if you aren't picky about use year), but the waitlist can be pretty long. Going thru resale you can probably land a better deal and get a contract sooner... I would imagine that the DVC price increase will drive the resale market up some, but not to the $95 current DVC direct price. As for a year from now, there's no telling what the price or incentives will be (or if there might be a new "coming" resort announced). ya know the new celebration starting up in October would be a great time to announce! (I'm guessing DVC members have had their 'millions' of dreams of VAKL, VatCR, VPoly, etc...)
