Current fads I'd like to see go away

Honestly, some young ladies can get away with it, usually the ones with shorter hair, but on most it just looks silly, like a grown woman trying to look cute like a little girl. My dh and most guys I know don't find it attractive! Well, I know of a couple who DO like that sort of look, but they are also into the "hot schoolgirl" look! IMO, just stick with a ponytail or hair clip!

I appreciate your honesty! I've always been told that I look a lot younger than I actually am, So I guess I just *think* that I can get away w/this look or something (?) On the other hand, I really DO like it & I agree it can Only be pulled off w/shorter hair! I DO remember shopping one day & seeing this one lady who was Obviously WAY too old to have her hair like that & it got me to thinkin'! :) Once I hit 30....That's it for the low pigtails for me, I'll miss em' But it's been a good run! I'd hate to be "That lady" one day!

Ugh, Yes, Why do people stretch their ears like that - Ouch!

And, Why do people tie knots in the back of their shirts-so that their bellies are exposed? Why not just buy a short, mid-drift shirt instead? Doesn't it stretch out their shirts when they tie them up like that?....I hate when my shirts get stretched out!

T-shirts with obscene sayings on them

Little girls dressing like they are 25. I help with a brownie troop of 7 & 8 year olds and you would be surprised what some of them wear!
Our DD is almost 7 and DH says he is NOT dressing our child like a JR Hooker

the greasy hair look - what exactly is sexy about looking dirty?

botox - why do you want to have a frozen face?

I agree with the above poster about plastic surgery - it's a shame that some people who are already beautiful feel so insecure that they make themselves unrecognizable.

I also agree with most of the other things listed here, although some are definitely worse than others! (hello, ho/gangsta look...)

Sorry but I had to steal this off of another thread. There are soooo many in this picture. ::cringe::

AHA! I forgot about botox! Ew.

And I agree with the plastic surgery thing too- look what happened to Jennifer Gray (who WAS perfectly lovely in her own way and is now unrecognizable). People will go to many extremes to look "perfect" and a lot of times, there was nothing wrong to begin with.

I really dislike the whole sequin bags (purses) actually sequins on anything except for formal and bridal attire. It's even worse when you see the old women (I am old myself) wearing the animal prints and carrying the sequin big bag.

have to add...not just the botox face but the whole big lips thing...why would anyone want to inject something into your lips to make them swell up like they've been stung by bees?

We were trying to five my neice who is 5 some shorts to wear to WDW next week. They are all super short. We could only find one pair at Wal-Mart that weren't way too short and they had a geeky belt attached. Why are they trying to make a 5 year old look like a hooker??

L-O-N-G acrylic nails. How can people still be wearing them? OK, they're not as popular as they used to be, but I still see them and all I can think about is all the microbes under them. Nasty!

Gold chains on men. Have always hated them. It's a very redneck look where I come from.

The brown-and-turquoise combination. Not that I don't like it, I'm just really tired of it, and it will be totally dated by the end of summer. I wish stores didn't only have clothes in the current fad colors.

Logos on anything. Logo purses look very 80s to me (I guess they're suposed to??) and I didn't like them in the 80s, either.

I really hate the latest fad here. It's a bold, yellow letter A. At the top is a solid yellow circle and to the left of the line (-) in the center of the "A" is another solid yellow circle. Use your imagination as to the picture. This is on everything. Bookbags, t-shirts, jackets, etc. JUst not necessary to advertise this.

OMG. I think I get it (had to draw it out). Are kids in high school wearing this? PM me if you can to let me know if I'm right, but does it have to do with a certain act between a man and a woman?

The latest FAD i'd like to see go away?

Threads where people think they are better then everyone else and try to force what they like onto others!

OMG I have tattoo's and facial piercings you are sooo much better than me.....ahhhhh my son has heely's what a bad parent I am. I let me nieces were big sunglasses into public, what am I thinking.

Seriously though, alot of these are dumb, I don't like the whole Uggs thing, the muffin top, the writing on sweats, etc.....

But it is that person's choice to look how they want so it really doesn't concern me.

The entire 2006 spring fashion line. I tried to go shoping yesterday and everything I saw in all the stores was just butt-ugly. I managed to find a few things, but geez. Doesn't help that I like fall/winter fashions better in general anyway, but this spring seems especially bad.

I agree!!!! I went to Bealls (where I normally have NO trouble finding several things) and then Dillards and Penneys and Pennys especially had nothing that was even cute!! :guilty: :confused3

--> Short shorts, NO ONE looks good in these
--> Jeans with holes in them, who pays for this look???
-->PJs in public, it's not htat hard to put on a pair of jeans!!
-->Fake handbags! i agree with the previous poster that said if you can't afford the real thing, then just get another bag!!
--> ULTRA LOW RIDE PANTS!! ughh they seem to be everywhere!! i can't find a decent pair of pants anywhere!!!!!
--> so many of the looks in the Childrens store!!!!! they are trying to make our little girls look 20 years old!!
-->Tanorexics!! looking orange is NOT cute!

I agree with you on the childrens stores, Im trying to find a swimsuit for my 2 year old DD (you know her) and all I can find lately is bikinis, I am not putting my 2 year old in a bikini, Im sorry she is way to young for that. Also I find tank tops with one shoulder strap only, all kinds of shirts that show off thier belly, I mean come on here she is 2 not 20.

Speaking of writing on the back of pants. I suggest for anyone who buys an article of clothing that has words not of their native language to get a translation book before purchase. At a birthday party at McDonald's last October, I saw a little girl wearing a shirt that said "UGLY". It was written in English and I am sure whomever bought the shirt had no idea what the word "ugly" meant. :teeth:
