Current fads I'd like to see go away

Pooh's Pixie, I guess it has. I had never heard it until a few months ago.

Agree with everything said.....but, I must be "out of the loop" because I don't know what a bubble skirt is! :confused3

Good Lord - it's a maternity bubble skirt!

Do the fashion designers not remember these looks weren't good the first time around in the 80's. Why bring them back??????

-The ultra, ultra mini skirt. You know, the ones that are even shorter than the short shorts. If you have to constantly pull down your skirt, then maybe you shouldn't be wearing it.

:rolleyes1 This is not a fad here. It's the work uniform and no, they don't bother to pull it down.

Oh, and the HUGE sunglasses. Big fad here. White seems to be the most desired. Today I saw a guy and a girl wearing the same pair. Maybe there is no guys and girls sunglasses anymore. Just unisex. All I can think of is that woman from the OLD NAVY commercials. :teeth:

grown women in pigtails.

I've been known to wear my hair in pigtails on many occassions (mainly when I'm going to the gym or just "bummin' around"). Works esp. well for when I don't feel like washing my hair that day....low pig tails & a hat! :thumbsup2

Now, I'm wondering.....Does this "DO" look ridiculous on a 29 year old-(Me)?? :scratchin Any opinions? (I really thought that look was Cute?!?!)

Oh and those "bubble skirts".....YUK!

ooo All this talk of the bubble skirt is reminding me to add: the bubble shirt! it looks awful!! it makes everyone look HUGE!

Honestly, some young ladies can get away with it, usually the ones with shorter hair, but on most it just looks silly, like a grown woman trying to look cute like a little girl. My dh and most guys I know don't find it attractive! Well, I know of a couple who DO like that sort of look, but they are also into the "hot schoolgirl" look! IMO, just stick with a ponytail or hair clip!

1) pants and shorts with writing on the rear end    This has got to be one of the trashiest things anyone ever thought of.
2) the whole "pimp/ho glamour" culture

I so agree!! and thankfully my daughters do too!! :thumbsup2

Ah ha, never knew what a "bubble skirt" was- thanks for the pic ChrisnSteph!

If that ever becomes a fad around here (I have NEVER seen one) I'll add it to my list...

#1 by FAR is those huge sunglasses- ugh, can't stand them.

I also don't like gauchos but I do think they look cute on girls with stick-thin legs. It's the girls who wear them and have massive thighs that I think they look HIDEOUS on. Dress for your shape girl! I do!

And I can't believe no one has mentioned this..
POPPING COLLARS!!!!!!!!! AHHHH I can't freaking stand it. When people pop the collar of the polo (or 2 polos  ) they are wearing. It's the worst when girls do it. I remember in college people used to say "can't stop the pop" :crazy2:

Funny story: When I was in DC, a guy in a bar came up to talk to me and I said "I'm sorry, I can't talk to you like this" and then unpopped his collar :rotfl: (Ok, maybe I had had a few) and he proceeded to tell me he had told his friends he was meant to marry the first girl who unpopped his collar for him. :rotfl2: (then I introduced him to my DBF ;) ) Now they're using it as a pickup line! :lmao:

How about this one:

Ear holes, not earrings but those holes that are in guys, mainly, ears. Makes the guys earlobes look like donuts. Blechhhhh!!

Can you imagine what it will be like when they get old?

Polka dots. It gives me a headache when I look at them.

What's popping collars?

Ok so you're wearing a polo right? And it's got a collar that is folded down- when you fold it up so it covers your neck, this is called "popping your collar".

I think that it comes from people who sail- they would pop their collar to protect their neck from the sun. A lot of people who sail are rich- so therefore it became a status symbol and a lot of rich kids do it (at W&M there were certain fraternities and types of people known to do this). It's also a big UVA thing, but I've seen it on the internet and people making fun of it on the internet so I know it's got to be other places than just here.

The only one I can't stand is jammie bottoms in public. I am embarrassed to go to the mailbox in my jammie bottoms. Why do people wear them OUT?? For heaven's sake, jogging pants are just as easy and comfy and not quite as hideous!!
