Current fads I'd like to see go away

Oh, do I have a list! (And it's sure to offend some, so sorry in advance. It's JMHO.)

1) Low rise pants or jeans on girls/women. They are not flattering to 99% of the population.

2) Tattoos, especially those big wing-things young women like to put above their behinds. Man, are those going to look horrible in 20 years!

3) Fake designer bags. If you can't afford the real thing, don't bother. Neon-colored fake Fendi's are especially hideous.

4) Earrings on boys/men--especially on young boys and especially in both ears. Over my dead body is my 9 year-old son going to pierce his ear(s).

5) Eyebrow and nose piercings. The sight of them makes me wince.

6) Heelies. These things are the bane of my existence. That the 9 yo hasn't broken a limb yet scooting around in these things is a small miracle.

I can think of more, but I sound like an old fogey already, so I'll leave it at this.

1) pants and shorts with writing on the rear end    This has got to be one of the trashiest things anyone ever thought of.

In line with that, most all of those shorts are super short to begin with then they go and roll the waistband to make them even shorter. Sorry but no one needs to see your butt cheek hanging out! You wouldn't believe how many girls I saw like this last weekend at WDW. How can their parents let them go around like that?

The HUGE sunglasses!

I can't tell you how many college girls I see every day now that are wearing sunglasses that take up half of their face. It looks ridiculous

I love those too! :guilty:

Just call me ~
Bug Eyes

-Huge sunglasses

-Low riders and muffin tops. Especially when girls/women wear them 2 sizes too small and it makes a muffin top. It can make a 90 pound girl look chubby.

-Shaggy hair on boys/men

-Guys in shorts worn down below their knees and their butts hanging out

-Shorts with writing on the butt

-The whole "grill" fad. Do these people honestly know just how stupid and ridiculous they look? How could anyone take them seriously?

ETA: The pj bottoms in public fad.

Preteen and teenage boys with oversized pants and their underwear showing. I have the biggest urge to pull them down and embarass them.

grown women in pigtails. Any others?
Have to disagree with this one. Good way to get my hair off my neck in the summer heat.

Agree with everything said.....but, I must be "out of the loop" because I don't know what a bubble skirt is! :confused3

also I hate the trend of wearing fake "bling"- big neckchains with big "diamond" crosses and the like.

Also the trend of wearing PJ bottoms out in public. Get dressed!!

I was waiting for someone to mention these. Those huge sunglasses look absolutely ridiculous. Some look like some sort of welding sheild. I wonder if people actually look at themselves in the mirror and think they look good or just wear them because everyone else is.

My 9 yo has shaggy hair and complete, strange, grown women tell me all the time how cute he is! Who knew? All fashion just repeats itself every 20 yrs. We're in the middle of the 80s now if you're counting...but who's counting?

accccccccccccckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk

Not the 80's!!!!!!!!

**running away quickly**

:lmao: :rotfl2: :lmao:

Ok, the whole legging thing is driving me crazy!!!! I looks horrible. I can't believe that it is back in style.

I love them! I've waited a long time for them to come back in style. Don't burst my bubble now. :lmao:

All of the boys on our swim team have the shaggy hair. My DS12 goes back and forth. He just had it all cut off for baseball and golf. He said it was too hot.

-The ultra, ultra mini skirt. You know, the ones that are even shorter than the short shorts. If you have to constantly pull down your skirt, then maybe you shouldn't be wearing it.

-The large sunglasses. Some people can pull them off. Most, can't.

I got in trouble once looking at what was written on some young ladies (late teens, and I mean 18-19, or early 20's) rump. This young lady had UNH written on her the rump of her sweat pants. Well, we both come off the T (the subway here in Boston) and proceed to the escalators. She gets in front of me and I can't help but see this lettering. Being from New Mexico, I was curious to see it was UNM. So, I take but a few seconds to see what it says, and just as I start looking she turns and sees me looking at her rump. Well, you can imagine her reaction, "Stop looking at my rump (the dis friendly version)!" To which I replied, "Well, if don't want anyone looking at your rump, then don't wear them." She did not like that answer. I won't tell you what she said, but I'm sure with some imagination someone can figure it out.

Sorry, but I like those. I'm a guy, what do you expect? :teeth:

Don't know if you would consider it a fad or not, I consider it one: people saying "wicked."

"That was wicked cool."
"It is wicked hot outside."

What is the 'grill' fad? :confused3

Custom made removable gold or platinum overlays for teeth, sometimes with jewels inset into them.

I strongly dislike gauchos.

For men, I read an article that super skinny jeans are back in style--the kind that are tight all the way down to the ankles. Better them than me!

"Wicked" is a big New England thing. Has been all my life, so not a fad here. Has it migrated down south?
