I see many people on the boards excited and purchasing tickets for this event.

I am just curious for those who purchased or plan to purchase tickets how many are now booking an extra Disney trip just to attend this event and how many already had a trip planned / booked for that time and are just adding this event?
(And if you're adding an extra trip do you live nearby?)

I already had my trip for Aug 21-28 booked and happily added this event to our itinerary. I was thrilled that the timing worked out because DS loves villains.

Since I like to plan trips in advance. I'm not sure if I would have been able to book another trip for this event...the big budget problem being airfare. Yes, we can drive from NY to FL, but I would prefer not to and if I'm going to make such a long drive it won't be for just a few days to attend 1 event and if I add more days the costs will add up and probably be about as much as if we flew. I guess this is why we need to live closer to Disney!

We already had a trip planned Aug 21-28, and I just bought tickets this morning.

If I didn't have a trip already planned, I probably wouldn't be going...although I would probably be trying to squeeze it in somehow. :goodvibes We never luck out with being able to attend special events/parties.

It doesn't bother me to plan an extra trip. We just take what we can get in regards to FP+ and ADR's. If we miss out on a restaurant or ride, it's no big deal, we go at least once a year. My sisters and I did a "girls trip" last year for Villains Unleashed, with almost no planning, it was a blast!

We already had our trip booked (flying in from UK for our first ever Disney park visit... got to start with WDW and do it properly!) and this was icing on the cake for me. I would have loved to go for one of the other party nights, but can't as I work in a school... so this is perfect for me. :) I was excited when they announced it, and thrilled when I was able to book my ticket this morning!

We already had our trip booked (August 18-27th). I've never done a hard ticket event at Disney so it seemed like a sign when one was announced during our trip. My DS(6) is currently a villain fan (he was Captain Hook for Halloween and wants to be Darth Vader this year) so it sounded like fun.

We will be at the World pre and post cruise, this just added the ability to get to DHS this trip. I have always wanted to go to a Disney Party and this is perfect.

This was just good karma for us and the event falls in the middle of an already planned trip! So excited!

Booked additional trip. :cool1: Shifted last year dates for Unleashed - it had so much potential and was such a disaster. I'm excited for this years ticketed Unleash!!! 8 hour drive in the night before, PARTY Saturday, driving 8 hour home Sunday. :drive:
And this is 9 days after I get back home from another trip there.

May be a wee bit crazy :crazy2: but also drove down just to ride 7DMT when the opening date was announced!

We (DH,DD(14), and myself) have a trip booked for September 14-21st for 2 Halloween parties and Food and Wine. I just added a short mommy-daughter trip ( August 21-24) just for this event- our last hurrah before school starts August 25th.

We are coming over from Dallas just for this. We were supposed to go to SWW over Memorial Day weekend, but I got a bad infection at my surgical site and had to be hospitalized to get IV antibiotics. We had a small airfare credit and I was going to lose the money that I had already put down on the hotel (room only) and we have APs. So, I went ahead and bought tickets without consulting DH and then we talked about it when he got home. We just fixed our airfare, called ME, changed our hotel reservation to POFQ, and have a few ADRs.

Our trip over Memorial Day weekend was supposed to be for our 5th anniversary, so we'll be celebrating that while we're there as well.

We were set to arrive on the 24th, but I had not bought plane tickets yet, so I just moved everything up one day. It seemed like a fun event and my husband was able to switch his schedule, so it all lined up.

If I had already bought plane tickets, or if it wasn't so close to our trip, I would not have planned an extra trip to attend or paid to switch flights.

I had no plans to do WDW this year. I am making a special trip with my DD just for this. We'll drive down Friday and leave Monday. We only plan on the party, a waterpark, and DTD.

We're there 'officially' from the 20th to the 22nd. I go to college 20 minutes away and I'm moving back in on the morning of the 23rd, but we have enough time to head back over to HS for the event later on, so I convinced DMom to get tickets for one last 'bang' before she flies home.

This falls right in the middle of my planned trip. So I only need to get the ticket n clear out my evening schedule!!

We already had our trip booked. Got lucky with this one! I'm also in NY (upstate) and wouldn't travel to Disney for just one event...

We were already booked so we added it. The crazy thing is last September we went to DLR because we had a wedding in SF. After we booked they announced the Friday the 13th event. I think we are destined to see villains (and I hope this hard ticket event is nothing like last year...I hear WDW was out if control too).

Looks like I'm in the minority - we booked a trip just for this. It will be a quick fly-down-Friday, back-home-Sunday trip, but we couldn't resist since we have annual passes but don't plan to renew them when they expire.

We already had the reservations for 21-25 at CR. So it was a no brainer to get the tickets for this event. First hard ticket event for us.

We didn't have any WDW plans and booked this trip just for Villains Unleashed. My DD (14) is a huge villains fan, just the two of us are going. I got the discounted rate at Pop Century and scored $150/pp plane tickets. We will only be there for the weekend. Can't wait!

I added an extra trip, but I am only three hours away. I booked a military rate room at POP for the night (reasonable, it was around 100) and plan on just eating at the food court. I'll be driving back the next day after probably a QS lunch at Epcot (I have an AP). My costume is honestly my biggest expense.
