I JUST found out that I have to work 40+ hours next week, the week before I go to WDW. I know it doesn't sound like a big deal, but I usually work only 3 days between only 3 and 6 hours. I have to wear dress shoes and I'm going to be on my feet and bending and lifting the ENTIRE TIME! This is not something that I am used to! This is a new job for me... my first non-desk job. My feet KILL me after my 3 hour days!

So what do I do? I have Saturday and Sunday to rest up before WDW. Is there a miracle cure for feet? I know my back is going to be bothering me too.

I have a hot tub so I plan on using that as much as possible. Any other suggestions?

I know I sound like a whiner, but I am SO BUMMED about this! I'm a Disney Commando and am used to taking it really easy the week before hand. I'm not too happy about this last-minute stuff either. Thanks for your help.

As a former hiker who used to overdo it sometimes, it seemed to me that feet get over strain pretty quickly. Stay off of them as much as possible including at work and then soak them at night. You could try some of those Dr Scholl's inserts to see if they help. As for your back, I would do my best to spend as much time as possible in the hot tub. Some LIGHT stretching would probably help too.

Good luck!

Try not to stress out over it, it may make things worse. After all, YOU'RE GOING TO DISNEYWORLD!!!

Don't wear dress shoes! If you will be on your feet all day, wear comfy shoes or pay for it later. Teva sadals are great and look good too.

How about booking a nice relaxing massage after your last day of work?

My vote goes for wearing more comfortable shoes

Why not try Dr. Scholl's SOAP "N SOAK instant foot bath. I use it on days when I have to be on my feet a lot. It really seems to soothe my feet. It's also relaxing just sitting back with my feet in a tub of warm water at the end of the day.

The other thing you might try is a reflexology foot massage. I have very bad feet and a 1/2 hour foot massage was pure heaven!

Good luck and have a great trip!

As a CAREER SERVER, well up till now anyway I can not stress to you enough the importance of DR SCHOLLS MASSAGING GEL INSOLES...these are AMAZING!!! I would be on my feet for 12 hours a day...almost in tears...once or twice maybe even in tears...I didnt think footpads could do anything...but these are killer, I work doubles all the time and could go jogging afterwards....They are the Blue gel insoles, they are the most expensice about 12$ a pair, but WELL WORTH EVERY PENNY! And they last a good 3 months easy!
Hope it helps!
