So DH has been considerate enough to allow time in our trip for me to go to Hollywood Studios solo and ride ToT and the Rockin' Roller Coaster, which he has no interest in (and I'm a little leery of taking 5yo DS along for!). I'll catch up with DH and DS later that same day. :thumbsup2

I'm imagining that part of the trip, and I think it would be great to try some of those fabulous cupcakes at Starring Rolls I'm hearing so much about. Sort of a "congrats" treat for me as I conquer my fears and go on those scary rides!

My question is: what's the best flavor in your opinion, the one I absolutely must try? (I've never eaten at Starring Rolls before. :) ) If you've got pictures, that would be awesome! TIA. :cool1:

I got 2 on my DHS day. I packed them to go and stuck them in a little cooler bag to enjoy later. Anyway, I got Marble and Red Velvet Cheesecake Both were DEVINE! Loved them, and I am a little sad I never made it back to get more. Of the 2 I think the red velvet edged out the marble, only because I am a huge cheesecake fan.

I personally like the chocolate with just icing. Maybe it's because I don't really care for peanut butter or caramel.

They are all super yummy! One thing to keep in mind - Starring Rolls closes earlier than the park. We were there in March and my friend was in the room sick. The only thing that she wanted me to bring was a cupcake. Well.... went back around 5:30 and they had closed! They were closing at 4 during that time!!

I don't think that you can go wrong with any of the cupcakes. They keep well in a refrigerator and you could get a few and eat them for a couple of days. They are a snack credit too if you are on the dining plan!!!

Shalom--Thanks to your link, I must now find a way to fit in a trip to Contempo Cafe into our vacation. Black forest cupcakes? DH ADORES black forest cake!:yay:

Sigh--more logistics to figure out. I think we are going to spend a lot of time going back and forth to various parks/restaurants, esp since I'll be using an ECV. Payoff should be yummy, though.

They also sell out of a lot of things early. About 2 pm seems to be around the time that most of the cupcakes are gone. I personally like them fresh. They bake them about 30 minutes to an hour before park opens, so it's a good early morning food.

I've had the chocolate/peanut butter, butterfinger, and red velvet. I always swore the butterfinger was the best, until my husband tried the red velvet last Oct. The plan was to order two, each eat half of theirs, and then switch. We round up fighting over the red velvet. The butterfinger was still wonderful, just not as good as the red velvet.

My husband and I (and the kids) are split on this one. I love the Chocolate Peanut Butter and hubby loves the red velvet. We all agreed that the Butterfinger was really bad (no offense to those who like it). It was overly sweet (and I'm a huge sweet tooth), and the icing underneath was wayyyy too much (it's practically all white sugary icing underneath that butterfinger dome--the kind you get on cheap grocery store birthday cakes). Don't hate me :rolleyes1

Hmm. Maybe I had better eat the cupcake BEFORE the rides and hope I can keep it down. :rotfl: The plan was for me to go to DHS after lunch, after we spent the morning in Epcot. (We have a 12:20 ressie at Les Chefs that day.) Sounds like I may be out of cupcake luck for that day.

Still doesn't hurt to check :thumbsup2 I'm not sure exactly when you will be there, but if it's during a less crowded season you might be able to get one. We were there during a slow time at went to Starring Rolls around 3:45 right before it closed, and they still had two or three different kinds of cupcakes. I got the Butterfinger one and it was delicious! But I couldn't finish it because it was just so sweet and rich!

Thanksgiving week, Librarygeek--47 days to go!

Well, we ARE planning to go back to DHS on our last day (Thanksgiving day), so maybe I'll use a snack credit for breakfast or something. :cool1:

Yes, the other day I was there around 10:45 am, not an early opening day, and they were out of a couple kinds of cupcakes-signs there, but no cupcakes. Fortunately, they did have red velvet left.

Are you sure they were out? I was there on 9/23 and their cooler was broken so they had one out of a few cupcakes and none out of some others but they had plenty in the back.

Darn! You're probably right. I was there on the 25th. And the kind I really wanted was the peanut butter and chocolate which appeared to be out. Now I'm kicking myself for not opening my mouth! The red velvet was pretty good, but the other 2 flavors are a combination I love and was looking forward to trying in a cupcake.

Just had a butterfinger cupcake there last week - SO GOOD! Although, I didn't notice the butterfinger much. I loved the white cream inside! Next time I have to try a peanut butter one. I got it to go around 12pm and they still had several of each kind left. I ate it two days later and it was still good! And as a PP said, I did notice they close early and I have read they run out of cupcakes fairly early so make sure you get there in time!

I, too, am trying to figure out how to enjoy one of these yummie cupcakes on my trip in November. I tried to get one when we there over Labor Day weekend, but I didn't get there until a little before 4:00 p.m. and they were already closed.:sad2:

In November, we will be leaving DHS around noonish to go over to Epcot for a 2:40 pm ADR at Le Cellier. I'm sure they will be closed by the time we get back over there to see the Osborne Lights, so maybe I should plan on one for breakfast. There's no law against that, is there?:)
