Thinking of going to WDW in September and just playing the numbers game bt CSR and any value resort. Now when you run the numbers it just makes sense to stay in a value. However DH only likes to stay at CSR. Please help me grasp the clear cut perks or reasons that you might pick. Moderate vs value. They have beds & bathrooms and buses to/from parks and etc etc. please help me understand. Thanks!

Since you've been to both you already know, but... I'd take any mod over any value.

CSR- Awesome main pool, slide, and huge hot tub with many quiet pools
Value- Crowded pools with no slides

CSR- 314 sq ft rooms with queen beds
Values- 260 sq ft rooms with double beds

CSR- Maybe the best all-around bus transportion at WDW
Values- crowded bus stops

CSR- Nice table service restaurant, food court, and a couple of nice lounges
Values- food court and a pool bar

CSR- Spa
Values- no

See I never stopped to appreciate the resorts. It is always so rush, rush, rush - arrive then unload then hit the parks and come back to sleep only to wake up early to repeat until vacation is over. But now I will start to notice the little things - and BIG perks too- from now on. I was trying to read comparison charts on Disney website and I noticed package delivery was not check off for CSR. Do they not deliver packages/purchases from the parks to CSR anymore??

Yes., yes, & yes to everything that was said here. Add to all that the Theming here is exquisite as well.

We like to call CSR, a deluxe lite.....It's that good. Way better than any value n worth every penny.:thumbsup2

CSR is going to have much better food that any value resort.
Numerous pools.
Lovely grounds.
Good table service restaurant
Rick's bar + poolside bar

VALUES have much smaller resorts. The walk from Ranchero section to food court is .48 mile. Yes, there is an internal bus but by the time I wait for it, I could have walked. This will become very relevant if you plan to use refillable mugs.
CSR can have conventions which can mean drunk conventioneers and heavy crowds at meal times.
At Pepper Market there is an additional 10% gratuity you will not have at the values

After 30+ stays at WDW I have decided that bus service can be ANYTHING at ANY TIME at ANY resort. No resort has "good" bus service and another one "bad." The only universal I have found is sloooooow service to/from DTD.

_I_ like the values (all but AoA) and for me it is not usually worth the money for a moderate. BUT if you know your hubby is happy at CSR, you might want to stick with that....

Last time we stayed at a Value (Pop), my husband looked at me and said, "it's worth the extra money to stay at the Moderate." In his own way, he was telling me he'd prefer not to stay Value again. The bed size is an issue, the room size is an issue. The pools aren't that big a difference to us, although we all like the Jaguar slide at CSR. The food court isn't a big issue to us, but the general atmosphere of the resort matters. Also, we like the smaller bus-stops around the resort instead of a big corral at the front.

You said yourself, your husband only likes to stay at CSR.

Isn't that reason enough?

Yes I never realized the bus has stops inside the resort instead of only at the front like at value. We've only stayed the once at ASM. I'm definitely feeling sillier having now asked the question

disagree - much prefer Pop - yes the buses are crowded - but at Pop generally if the bus gets full - there is another behind it.

have not stayed at any WDW resort (including DVC and deluxes) with better bus service than Pop.

yes you have to walk to the front of the resort to use the buses - but you are not talking along walk.

you could put Pop in CSR and have enough left over room for another Pop (at least)

now when the bus gets to the parks - most of Pop bus stops is furthest away from the exit -

We generally stay at the values - save $$ make more trips

We have however stayed at CB and POFQ - the nice thing about the moderates was the more intimate feel of the buildings and the ceiling fans! DD also loved the slides in the pools.
