CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

Ok, deep breath,,,,, baby steps:

Thanks, he is a real character! HIS dad made it to 101yo, and Pop and his brother are hoping to stay healthy enough to do as well. :thumbsup2

Here is what my friend Kim had to say about that route:
We actually went that way on our way to Tampa for Spring Break, sans the Airstream. I wanted to check it out as an alternate also – we HATE driving through Dothan – found the best time for that is before 8:00 on Saturday mornings.

Anyway, overall I liked using 82 to I-75. It was a nice 2 lane country drive (we drove it on a Monday morning). Didn’t have a problem with traffic, and there were places to pass if needed. The biggest problem we had is that there were no restaurants between Montgomery and Eufaula – which upset Jared’s lunch schedule. He did manage to survive to find a meal. Roads were wider in Georgia. As for picking up the interstate in Tifton, I didn’t think there was a lot of “city driving” between town limits and the interstate – just the usual crowded exit stuff for a few miles before you get to I-75.

I would recommend the route to someone not towing a camper. We didn’t really see good places for gas or food in the smaller towns. There was a lot of “country driving” between the major towns, so a lot of planning for proper gas stops would be required to ensure not running out of gas when driving a gas guzzling vehicle.

Hope this helps. I am happy to answer more questions, if they have them. Only 88 days to Disney!!

So maybe that way will be a good one for y'all. :drive:

I still don't know Cindy,,, and I'probably won't until we are on the road. I don't like state routes for a long period of time,,,maybe it's best to just suck it up and do Atlanta for a half hour or so,,, then it's over with.

Now I will show my age. I learned to drive in a Chevette (Did the 3 point turn in 1 in that baby) and the car my mother owned (My father drove a huge caddy that you needed oars for) was a K Car. :sad2:

Wow, a K car AND a Chevette? But, sorry,, still doesn't beat my Le Car stupidity. I bought THAT on my OWN!

I do not deserve such an extraordinary honor to be held in such high regard with the rest of these fine Dis celebrities.

I humbly rescind my nomination at such time.

No further comment.

You mean that's all it takes? Say something nice to you and you shut up?

who knew?

On the other hand, you probably deserve to knock your shins a couple of times.

Hey,, there's been manyatime that smidgy was leading me and a lot more important places than my shin got smacked!

Yes, it's not a Nebo trip report unless it's a Nebo "TRIP" report.

OK, who let this guy post again?:rotfl:

So glad about the reunion! My sister passed away when she was 31, and my 3 nephews were young. Her husband remarried a year later, and we rarely saw the boys after that. Now that they're all adults, they have the ability to come see my parents, but because they never established a relationship when they were little, they have no desire to interact with my parents. It's a shame. Point being, I hope that's the start to a great relationship with all of ya'll!

Sorry we're in common on this one. Yeah, I miss my older sis,,, but man,,, seeing her daughter again,,,wow,,, my sister was great looking,,, but Holly is still the cutest version of a Lynn ,,,,,you just want to hug her to death.

Show of hands. How many people out there have no idea where helium comes from?

:cool1:I know,, I know,, it comes from metal cylinders and is used to feed emaciated, shriveled up balloons at State Fairs. It is also a voice augmenting device that that Chis Rock feels he needs to use. (see, Gomer Pyle, chipmunks, Wayne Newton)

Well, you've already answered so there's no point. But I do remember playing the game. I remember the first time Larry "got lucky". I didn't know what they'd do. I laughed when I saw the censored black bar jumping up and down. I was a little disapointed too. :rolleyes1:

Man, you are ritht on,,,:rotfl2:

 Good one!

Ok,, where's the rest of it? Huh?
Ponzi,,,, great bit with lime jello,,, but was that Captain Picard doubleing as the LEX man?

Spent all July 1 by the pool... in shade and still felt like I'd been run over by a truck by the end of the day.

Yep, nothing makes you sleep like a day tat the pool.

That was pretty sneaky of her wasn't it? I went back to see how close the Lex Luthor Yellow Jacket got and I noticed something. I put a couple of arrows on the picture, see if you notice what I did.

Funny, I used to work for Chi Chi's about 243 years ago. And just made their soft tacos for dinner last night.

Hmm, let's see,,,I'm in Chicago,,, THIS is where Chi Chi is,,, ergo,,, the name. YOU are in Canada,, so fess up,,, you really worked for Caca, didn't you? Yes,, the heat really got to me.

Nah, that's not excessive. Excessive is carrying a 'sipper', a drink to drink and maybe a couple in your pocket too....

Oh, wait.

Ding, give the man a cheroot!

Okay. Excessive is carrying a 'sipper', a drink to drink, a couple in your pocket and an alcohol I.V.

Haven't gotten to I.V. yet, only up to III.

Define "nice splash". My idea of nice splash is tilting the bottle and tilting it back almost as soon as something comes out. Perhaps your splash has more of a 'glug-glug-glug-glug-glug-glug-glug' feel to it?

Two glugs too many. to.
(couldn't leave the last one out)
tu.
(stop it)

Amazing is saving a life. Or teaching a blind man to see. Or packing cheap plastic cups in a suitcase and not cracking them.

Check.

And his name is BINGO!

Ah. So you're saying you're not exclusive in your excessiveness."

Apparently not. My exemplary avenues exceeds expectations, evidentally.

Eh?

My DW absolutely does not do that. If I walk out of the house with something that she doesn't have but decides she wants...

Then she takes mine and makes me go back and get another for myself if I want it badly enough.

That's funny,, I've seen that happen many a time, I don't think Diane nhas ever done that.

They have abandoned maid carts at Disney? How can you tell? Cobwebs?

The maid carts are pictured on the sides of refilleable mugs.

Doesn't that feel like I'm saying 'them' and 'ing'. Shouldn't it be 'themeing'?

Nevermind.

Yes it should,,, but then,,, In the fifties movie when the giant ants invaded the people would all be running around yelling,,, "It's THEME!"

Invaluable, definition: Extremely useful; indispensable

Indispensable? shouldn't that be Not dispensable? It's not undispensable right?

Wait... I'm having Deja Vu here.

I've heard hemlock cures that.

I don't remember. But I'm sure we can dispense with any value we put on the conversation.

sigh, this time you got something right!

I'd say excellent. As a matter of fact, I'm willing to put money on it.

cheater,,, you peaked!
peeked.
No, I was right the first time.:groom:

Sorry, I may have missed something there. Do you mean that the AP allows you to hop... or you had to buy hoppers in order to change to the AP?

Hmmm,, a real question? hmmm. ok,, no, really, by difinition,,, an AP MEANS it's also a park hopper pass. Had we started witha hopper pass in the first place, the upgrade would have been a bit cheaper to AP.

Don'tcha just love it when that happens? No, wait! I take that back. What's better is when they give you a number that's higher... and you get to show them the error of their ways... and you're right.

Actually what would be even better... except it never happens... would be for them to come up with a number that's lower than yours.

But that'll never happen.

When it comes to those types of things,, I can vouch that all the possible scenarios you mentioned have taken place with me.

Methinks it's time to face facts. You are never going to get to that park.

Fate is conspiring against you.

Well, we'll see, it's in the running again,, my son really wants to go back o Typhoon Lagoon,,,'92 was a long time ago,, and he barely remembers it.

In this corner, weighing in at 195 pounds, with a record of zero wins and multiple losses to inanimate objects... Nearly Nil-sighted Nebo!!!!

In the other corner, weighing in at 4 ounces, with a record of zero wins and zero losses.... the Small Type Menu!!!!

Cheat! Cheat! I want my money back! Fixed! Fixed!

I didn't need the light for the menu, I knew what I wanted,, I just wanted to see the little NUMBER way on the right side of the menu next to the selection I wanted.

I just checked allears
Cheeseburger - $11.99
Mushroom Onion and Swiss Burger - $12.99

But!
The date at the top of the page says April 2011

Did you hit the refresh button?

Come on. Be honest. Isn't there a little part of you that kinda wishes you got him again?

Yes

And what, exactly, is wrong with burger and fries people???????????

Take your time.

I'll wait.

Nothing at all. Oh, you think I'm stereotyping, believe me, that's not the case, at all.

I'm profiling.
Much nicer, ask Ron White.

crossage.

More danger. Less filling.

:happytv:

Heaven forbid I flip off St. Nebo.

Oh, now I'm a street, am I?

If I had a $1,000,000 (If I had a $1,000,000)
I'd buy you a K-car ( a nice reliant automobile)

I can't have the Dodge instead? That's right, you weren't born in March. (Hey, I had a one in 12 chance, but I think I''m close)

Ok,,, hold it,,, talking out of my butt here,,,the Omni was a K car,, right? I was thinking the Aries, another stupid Dodge,,, or were they both K cars?

If you want to post, just go ahead and do it. Nobody here is going to judge you, or your writing. If you have something you'd like to say, I'm sure Nebo would love to hear it. Besides, the more the merrier.

And while it's nice to be mentioned as "famous". I ain't been around here that long. And I certainly don't write so well that it precludes others from doing so.

I don't rite so good. I justs rites lots.

So post away!

Now, how am I going to scare off readers if you're going to be nice to them?

I had you all the way up to "Eh?" I have no idea what that means.

Secondy,,,, Yay Yay Yay for Buzz,,, and I think Monday, teh 26th is an excellent day to give birth!:rolleyes1

There are a TON of special November dates within our family and friends so why not add one more? ;)

My best friend's anniversary is the 13th, DH and my anniversary is the 14th, my parent's anniversary(40th this year) is the 19th, and my dad's birthday is the 21st. Both of the kiddos were exactly a week overdue, so there is definitely a distinct possibility that it could be close to your birthday.

The genders were a surprise with DS and DD but we are thinking we may find out this time. If we do, it will be on July 23rd. DS wants a brother and DD wants a sister so we'll see who gets their wish. ;)

Geez Nebo, sorry to hear about your eye probs. I take it it's not getting better. It's not something new to add to your current issues is it?

I must admit, I noticed you hadn't posted anywhere for a couple of days and was starting to wonder if you'd zigged when you shoulda zagged.

I hear you about the heat upstairs. I may have told this story before. If I did... You're gonna hear it again!

When I was a teen, my bedroom was on the second floor of my parents' house. My parents had sprung for a window air conditioner so it wasn't too bad... except. If I turned the A/C off, it got hot and stuffy in the room in minutes. If I left it on all night, it would cycle on and off all night long. Drove my poor DDad nuts. He'd complain and say, "It's not that hot! Why do you need that air conditioner all night! It's not that hot up there!"

When I got a little older, I went away for the summer. When I got back, I went up to my room where I'd left all my junk. I had a little toy robot that would run around on your desk and vaccuum. I brought it downstairs and hunted down my DDad. "Hey Dad. Remember when you'd tell me that it wasn't too hot upstairs? Look at this." I showed him the robot.

The rubber treads had melted off.

So take your time, dude. Take your time.

Or sit with a bag of ice on your head... whichever.

Now that's HOT!! I'm playing catchup here so bear with me. We took the kids to Myrtle Beach for the weekend last week and it has been crazy busy! Our temps here have been over 100 degrees for the past week and a half with the high temp reaching 108!! In SC we frequently go over 100 degrees in the summer, but usually only around 102 or so. It has been terrible! :(

My daughter was born on the 21st. Not sure if that is good or bad, LOl.
To satisfy both kids, you might consider a hermaphrodite :)
PS I am putting faith in my remembering this term without consulting Mr. Google

Give that man a cheroot. But that's not where the helium that you get from the balloon store comes from.... or the helium in the DTD balloon either.

Any other guesses?
Nope - they never covered that in Chem lab. So much for PRACTICAL chemistry...

So I cheated and looked it up online (wikipedia is the all knowing God!) Apparently most commercial helium comes from fractional distillation of Natural Gas - who knew?

And for my cheroot I'd prefer a fine Cohiba Robusto. Haven't had one in years, but if I'm going to break down it had better be worth it!

Ok, deep breath,,,,, baby steps:

Is this the precursor to the fall?

You mean that's all it takes? Say something nice to you and you shut up?

who knew?

Don't you have a TR to write?

Buy a fan!

Or a laptop, a router, or DRIVE to the library, they have computers and air conditioning!

OMG! Is that a bedazzled Nebo brand flashlight? That may be the most perfect thing I've ever seen. :rotfl2:

What the heck is that thing?
It scares me!
Looks like a flashlight/ lipstick/ vibrator and mace cannister, but did kyou see what it says? "Self defence face" huh? oh, and "Anodized aluminum tube of death"

I think it's also a taser! And it's named after a Disney character! "Here, Belle, I got your DINNER right here!"

Black, because it would go with all his manly outfits!:thumbsup2

Ok, now I think that was a little sarcastic.

:rotfl2: I thought of cropping this pic to just the name because I thought someone might think it looked like something else, then I thought "Nah, who would think that?" :rotfl:

yeah. right.

No, definitely a pink one!

Jake - I also wondered what it was at first! ;)

Ok, now THAT was Definately sarcastic.

Apparently most of us that follow Nebo's TR because I also thought it was a, well, you know :p By the way, I also vote for PINK! Real men use pink flashlights.....

Boy Barb,, you are so lucky,,, the scathing, embarrassing comment I could make about being a real man and the color pink,,,, alas,,,, must,,, let,,, go,,,.

I guess I'm the oddball, I thought it was lipstick

Ok, who is she , and what is she doing posting here on this trip report?

Whew! After weeks of reading Nebo Trip Reports I am finally caught up on ALL of them!!

I know I only started reading your TRs a few weeks ago, but it feels like years have passed and I have a lot of things to comment on, so here is the quick version.

I'm sorry to hear about your Jobs. I was laid off in 2010 and was unemployed for 7 months before I was able to find a company that was willing to take me.

Congrats on disability, it sucks the amount of red tape you have to go through just to get that!

I hope that your eyes are getting better, thanks for grossing me out with that pic after the shot ***shudders***

My condolences on Smidgy's father.

I hope the Santa Fe is still hanging in there after the overhaul it went through!

Congrats on being able to see your long lost grand kids!

I know I've forgotten a bunch of stuff that happened a few TRs ago, but I'm here now and that's what matters!

I'm not much of a poster, and I am always telling myself I need to post more often, so here’s hoping!

You have an amazing writing style and a great sense of humor; I look forward to the rest of this TR and the upcoming one in August, because I am here for the long haul!

Keep on trippin!

Hey Eli, thanks, and welcome to the nuthouse. I like your screenname, sounds cool, like the name of a Tomahawk Missile or something.
"Allright, let's just send a couple of Eli-15's over there and then they'll want to talk, trust me."

Oh is that what happened?

Doesn't show.

Oh, so you can complain about being tired but nobody else can, or complain about the heat as why I'm being weird, I get it.
Unfortunately,, I"m more at the top of my game when I'm either overheated or over tired.

I did, but I don't feel any different.

Ok, that's good,,, a nice simple comback to the "refresh" comment.

Hmm... not bad. Actually, it tastes like li.... ack.... aaarrrghh.... aaaacchhhhh....

Uh oh, quick, here, drink this Kool_aid and wash it down!

By the way, just an FYI,,, it wasn't Kool Aid that Jim Jones gave them to drink that killed them all, but a Chicago product named Flavor-Aid,, a Kool-Aid ripoff.

Cool, I haven't felt like Cliff Clavin in a while.
Speaking of him,,, we just went and saw Brave,,, at the end the crdits said Cliffy played the part of Gordon,,,, "who the heck was Gordon?"

I've been silently lurking for quite some time. Taking a deep breath and jumping into the deep end!!!!! Thank you for so many laughs I am so glad I stumbled onto your TR. Thank you ~ Jane

Has it already been shared here that Cliffy is in every Pixar movie? See how I cleverly avoided spelling Ratzenberg's(sp?) name?

Oh great. Now we have to change the saying to "So and so's drinking the Flavor-Aid" and then the person we say it to will try to correct us and WE'LL have to go all Cliff Clavin and set them straight.

Sometimes ignorance is bliss Nebo.

Hmm, ok, let's start with the genders,, if a son and a daughter were complete surprises,,, I gotta ask,,, are there other sexes that could have won?
Yes, you definately have a busy November too,, let me rehash mine for a second, ok?
Di's sister is the 12th,,,well,,, i'm close if I'm not right, but it's the end of the month that got interesting:
My mom's brother is the 22nd,,, "Happy Birthday Uncle Sonny, should have stayed out of Dallas, John:"
Then my mom's was the 25th, mine the 26th,, and my folks anniversary the 27th.

Throw in Thanksgiving and I think we have them all.

Ok, ok,,,, I also married my second wife on November 7th, she's still much nicer than my first wife, I wish I had married her first and could have saved a lot of money on the divorce.

I'm assuming nobody out there is scratching your heads over that one, right?

Oh,,, and if you had told me in the beginning that the term hermaphrodite was going to be used in this report,, I would never have,,,,,
Oh, who am I kidding,,,, NOTHING surprises me here!
Yes Marita,,, it means both sexes are contained in one body.

Looks like so much fun can't wait till we go.

Uh huh. Ok, I see you have your ten posts now, you can go and start your own threads,, enjoy

Don't you have a TR to write?

Well, yes I do, who snitched?

Buy a fan!

You read the comments, I don't have any fans, just people looking for a Nebo crash.

Or a laptop, a router, or DRIVE to the library, they have computers and air conditioning!

Right,,, "Excuse me,, where's the fridge? My manhattans have to be cold and I'm going to be here a while,,, like the next 4 hours,, you DO have a designated driver ready at all times to take people home after they have imbibed too much at the library, correct?

I've been silently lurking for quite some time. Taking a deep breath and jumping into the deep end!!!!! Thank you for so many laughs I am so glad I stumbled onto your TR. Thank you ~ Jane

Hi Jane, glad to have you join us, but I'm still wondering, is there a way to lurk that isn't "silent"? Feel free to join in anytime, we have one purpose here , and that is to just have fun.

Well, as many of you know,,, I'm running late on this report, and not sure what I"m going to do about it.
We leave in less than 3 weeks, and it looks like we are now driving down for sure. No, there is no way I could finish this in time, but I really hate to do a connecting double report again.
But for starters,,, I am going to try to pick up the pace, and mostyly just write about interesting stuff,,, and leave out the obvious filler material.

You know,,, like talk about Disney?
ONe thing I may do is leave out the spaces between words to save time, and I guess punctuation isn't really needed either,

Laura, you are right, ignorance is bliss and don't even bother trying to correct them, nothing to gain.
Danny you are right also, it was always fun to go and try to find the hidden Cliffy.

But,,,

WHO THE HECK IS GORDON?l

I was visiting my daughter not too long ago and we were listening to my $5.00 Three Dog Night Greatest Hits CD (bought after your one dog night update) and started telling her your One Dog Night story ........

Me: "There's this guy Nebo from the DIS boards, have I ever told you about him?"

Her: "You mean the guy that married his wife twice?"

Me: :thumbsup2 "Yeah, that Nebo" ::yes::

I think I might talk about my "internet" friends too much  She did enjoy your one dog night story ;)
