CSE-- Pg. 74 SATAN'S HAMMER, Ch.18, pg.160 "Goodnight Sweetheart" epilogue

As for the water cannons on Splash Mountain, I have a confession to make. (Bless me Fr. Nebo, for I have sinned). When our DD was little, she was relatively fearless. She watched the logs coming down the mountain at DL and said she wanted to go on. Where the water splashes up, it looks like the log disappears under water. I told her she could go on if she could hold her breath when the log did the submarine dive. I thought she knew I was just kidding, but the poor thing actually held her breath when we went downhill. Lucky she didn't pass out. Let's just say that's another round of therapy we paid for to help her get over her childhood traumas. <"Tell me how this made you feel."

Mine was when my DD was about 4. She was told to put her toys away in her room, and I just HAD to say, "And don't even think about stuffing everything under your bed!" She said, "Why not?" and I said, "If all your toys are there, where will the monsters sleep?"

Sometimes I say stuff just to amuse myself. This one bit me in the butt, big time.

On her first trip to WDW, probably later that same year, we made the mistake of taking her on Mr. Toad for her very first Disney ride ever. Poor kid. She came out and said, "Do NOT even take me on anything else that's dark, or where things jump out at you." She's a senior in college now and she STILL won't go on anything that's dark, or where things jump out at you.

Fortunately, we only ever had the one kid.

Edited to add: I too think of RigLee now & then. Maybe they have a little mollusk named Matchbox.

Smidgy said I had some kind of eclaire,,, and i was a little let down by it she said. I wish I had been there so I could have given you MY opinion of it.

Lines like this are just one of the many things I love about your Trip Reports.

Once again I come late the the Nebo TR party. Better late than never...Time to get caught up!:cool1:

Nebo, that glass shop scares me to death! DD always wants to go in and look and I find myself afraid to breathe in there for fear of suddenly "owning" an expensive broken piece. :scared:

I have gradually been won over to broccoli. A few fews back I wouldn't touch it, but I have to come to enjoy steamed broccoli. In fact, I, like Smidgy, have ordered it as my side at CHH though usually with the grilled salmon. The first time I ordered it, it was terrific. The second time it was like mush and while I do like it steamed, I did not care for broccoli mush puree! :crazy2:

I'm with you all the way on the enforced fast pass rule. We found ourselves using fast passes much less during our May trip and it made me a little sad.

Great chapter Nebo! ;)

Main street bakery and looking at the glass blowing place is our first day at mk ritual. While the others are running for rides...we take our time and make it to Pirates and its still a walk on, and this is for Thanksgiving holidays. I saw yall at POP a couple of Thanksgivings ago...will yall be going back this year?

The best part of that video is the very end where you can hear Nebo say "I know, I'm a dork." !!!!! :lmao:

Ok I'm all caught up! Looks like another interesting trip although I don't recall reading about any blood loss yet:) I guess there's a few more chapters left so who knows what can happen.

Looking forward to the rest of the trip. Hope all is well with you my friend!

I think we all have our "creating therapy" moments with our kids. My problem is that I usually laugh at inappropriate stuff my son says/does instead of doing the good Mom thing and making him behave. Its turned him into a really funny, very sarcastic teenager - which my hubby and I love since we're both super sarcastic too... maybe being a "bad" Mom has worked out for me after all.

There will also be a Little Mermaid ride,, but I saw a YOu tube of it at Disneyland, and it doesn't seem like anything special to me.
We have gone on that ride out here and you are right. It will be good for little girls who are into Ariel but once is ok. We use it as a way to kill time before they drop the rope that let's us get back to Toy Story mid way mania.

It is cute but not something that is a must see even for my daughters who were huge fans of the movies and the series back in the day.

Did you say YOU pack for WDW? Diane you are one lucky lady. Lance's version of packing is, "Betsey, don't forget to pack my..... and then the list.

hhmmm. my broccoli was too hard,(your's was too soft. goldilocks?)

Now we just need to find little bear's broccoli! :rotfl:

Any guesses for what I had with my dinner tonight? Yep, steamed broccoli and I'm happy to say it was right!! ;)

no, he said he packs for magic kingdom..he means... sunny d's, fuzzy cups, little bottles, etc.

although I do make him pack his own bags. he has as much (if not more) time than I, and I got tired of being responsible if something is forgotten.

not that either of us would ever forget anything.. a reacent trip, I forgot the "ever-so important-Iwas looking-forward-to-it" smoked sausage. and he DID try to remind me, but I got snarky.
result: we had to buy expensive , not as good sausage at Goodings. (very expensive store).

he, on the other hand, forgot his bathromm bag with hearing aids, spare glasses, camera, medications, etc. etc. result? turnign back 300 miles...:rolleyes2:lmao:

let's say we both learned our lessons!

We had a similar, but not as bad, experience on one of our trips down to Florida to visit my parents for Christmas. We got to the other side of Toledo (about an hour into the drive) and realized that we had left all of the Christmas presents under the tree at home. In total that mistake added another three hours to the trip. I was not a happy camper.

Nice update, and I'm glad there have been no recent blood 'n guts incidents. We're planning to go back to CHH for a lunch next trip - it was only DGD and I last, before everybody arrived. I had a nice salad last time (had to in order to share it with DGD), but would love to try the shrimp. And BTMR will be open by then!!

Can I work backward?

I'l bet,,, that's TWICE you had to go through Toledo. "How's Klinger, anyway?

Oh it was not a 300 mile screw up. It was a 324 mile screw up! I turned around at the 162 odometer reading,,, i STILL can't believe I was able to do that.

Now we just need to find little bear's broccoli! :rotfl:

Any guesses for what I had with my dinner tonight? Yep, steamed broccoli and I'm happy to say it was right!! ;)

How nice. Thank you for sharing.:offtopic:

Yeah, I"m already getting the impression it's going to rank right down there with the Lack of Imagination ride.

Actually, here in Chicago,, packing has an entirely different meaning.

Happy Geburstag, Marita! I'm not allowed to guess, am I?

At our house when I mention Nebo Lance and dd Megan ask, " isn;t that they guy who falls alot?:)

Oh, spiffy. I'm SO glad you are sharing the better character tributes that make up this poor soul,, no,,, "Isn't that the witty guy with all the answers? or Isn't that the guy that makes you laugh? , or "always has great Disney advice we have used in the past? " But sadly,,, no,,,,

Ok now waiting for the next chapter.......

FINE! You start holding your breath, and ,,, if I don't fall down on the way to read the clock,,,,

OK, I'm a little freaked out - this is the second time in a row I'm the first responder to a Nebo post (no, I didn't bring the ambulance with me). Were they the bug-germ plastic sipper cups? :crazy2:

Great,,, some people they say are ambulance chasers,,,, now we have an ambulance that's a Nebo chapter chaser.

Have to say it. Sweet the you and she found the place and sat for a chat. Seriously romantic (I mean that). There is something about chatting with your sweetie. Kids don't appreciate the fine art of conversation(which is not the same as texting). You are "as fast as lightening".:cool1:

Thanks Margy,,, I'm also a little bit frightening.

( uh oh,,, everybody is throwing up now)

Tinkyellow and I watched the opening show from the far right, to be closer to Space Mountain when they finally opened the gates. I didn't think that they did the opening show for the morning EMH at MK. I really wanted to be in the park, why are they putting in another roadblock to my getting into the park???

Nice video, by the way. :thumbsup2

Noop,,, for early entry all you get is a brief countdown and the gates are open,,, no show really at all.

Finally an update !!! 8 days between .....geez !!! More Nebo, less waiting :thumbsup2

PS ..... I would have taken one of the vikes ........

Hey, hi, you look familiar. I really thoght about puuting the vikes in Dianes' hands for safe keeping,,, but I realized soon enough,,, that it would be a case of being a LOT easier to make a deposit to,,,, than to make a withdrawal,, if she was now in charge of distribution.
"So,, on a scale of one to ten,, what level of pain are you now experiencing?" I can just see it.
"Ok, better question would be,, what level of pain are YOU now in the mood to experience?"

:happytv:love the video of the opening at MK. Man I sure miss that place.
Thanks for the info on the shrimp basket. If we get to go back there we will have to try it. We have split CS at Cosmic Rays and that was fine for us. We also like to split CS at Epcot now and then. A good way to try new foods in the various countries.
Hopefully Lance will get a clean bill of health after his surgery at the end of this month and we can plan for January while on winter break from work (we can't call it Christmas Vacation anymore out here in Cali. Just not C enough)
very nice pic in front of the castle. I think it came out great.
:mic:thanks for the kung foo fighting song that has now replaced secret ponzi man in my head.

I just had a scary thought,,, that I had the camera on when I did the KFF song at the pool table.
Right,,, it would have gone viral!
Hope the surgery all goes as planned Betsey,,, what exactly are they operating on , with Lance?

Great update Nebo!

I'm not sure I understood what you were trying to convey though. Are you trying to tell us that you don't like broccoli?

Yeah, you're right,, I wan't very clear aon that, next time I'll try to be more succinct when I give my opinions on things. But in case you missed it,, the more i think about it,,,and I have now, a lot, anyway, the more I think about it, I've pretty much decided, and no, I don't think that I will be changing my mind anytime soon, But when it comes to broccoli,,, or is it broccolli? I'm not sure which one is right, anyway,,, the more I think about it, I'm pretty sure that if push came to shove, I had to make a stand, it became a matter of life and death,, anyway,,, at the end of the day, I think I can undeniable, unequivacably, irrefutable positively, without a single doubt in my head say,,,,,,,
what was the question again?

Sounds like a nice afternoon at CSR. I think it's great that you started singing, I would have joined in if I'd been walking by. But, then again I know the story.

C'mon,, to be honest,,, songs like Scotch and Soda are more my speed. I suppose the most recent "real" type songs I've got up and sang in front of people are Kryptonite, and I duet I've done with my son once or twice and some other weird strung out kid on drugs once, "In the End" by Linkin' Park. I HATE rap,,, but I like doing that song,,, Jeremy does the rap part, and I do the actual singing lpart.
Other son Todd is really good at the singing part of that song too. Jeremy can't sing a lick though,,, that's why he does the rap part,,, and even THEN he can go off key.:mic:

Ok, I went for a link for the heck of it,,, you'll know what I mean when I say I did the singing in the background part of the song,,, but I have to admit,,, it's pretty darn high,, and it's been a while since my karaoke days,,, I doubt I can get up there anymore.

happy birthday marita!!!!pixiedust::cool1:princess:

Huh? again? Didn't you just have a birthday a half hour ago? Wow, they say time flies the older you get,,, but this is ridiculous!

Ok kids,,, gotta run,,, be safe, later

Nebo and Smidgy you guys are also the folks who make us laugh. You have no idea how much we all look forward to your updates. Especially since Lance is having to take things easy for a few weeks until they can clear his artery out this is how we "go to Disneyworld" for a while. so yes you are also the guy who makes us laugh.
As for packing and forgetting, I was the one who remembered the coffed maker and coffee and coffee fixins but left the basket that holds the filter and coffe on the counter after assuring Lance that "I got this OK" back in May when we went to DIsneyland for a few days at the end of the regular school year. So we were stuck paying 4 bucks for a cup of jow to start the day. Still hearing about that one. We didn't realize it until we were there so returning back home on a friday was just not in the cards.

I always tell Tim how much you remind me of him. You two have the same type of humor, the quick wit, and known to be funny.
