Crystal Palace or Chef Mickey's

Any thoughts on which you would recommend. 2 adults with grandchildren 6 & 10

They are both great with kids. I find Crystal Palace to be less hectic and noisy. Also, it's pretty easy to meet Mickey and Minnie in other places, but the Pooh characters are harder to find.

We’ve done both over the years and we prefer Crystal Palace (I suspect the kiddos would be happy at either one ). Chef Mickey’s seems to be a little more boisterous and it is fairly loud (the CR atrium design probably contributes to that). We prefer lunch rather than breakfast and I don’t think (?) that is available at Chef Mickey’s.

I always look at character meals as time-savers. Sure, they cost you a pretty penny, but if you factor in a 30 minute wait-line for every character that comes to your table, you are saving time, and at Disney, time IS money. I'd pick whichever meal has the most character-appeal for the kids, so you don't have to wait in multiple, in-park (long, hot) lines for those autographs and pics!

I would pick based on which characters they want to see. We like Crystal Palace better. Better yet, Tusker House was always our favorite character meal.

They definitely should go for Chef Mickey’s… especially if your young guests want to meet the characters without having to wait too long…

Crystal Palace has the better food but if the grandkids want to see the fab 5 do Chef Mickey's.

Crystal Palace would be my pick. I feel like more kids care about the Winnie the Pooh characters than the Fab Five (goodness knows that was true of me as a kid AND is true of me as an adult) and the food is significantly better than Chef Mickey's.

We’ve been to CM multiple times for both breakfast and dinner, CP at dinner once. We must’ve just had an off night at CP. While CM isn’t gourmet, we like the food there much more than CP. CM brunch is better than dinner though.

While I agree with others it’s louder and more hectic at CM, I feel like that makes it more fun. Not only that but having the monorail go through the building is cool to see also. I liked seeing it as a kid, and I still like seeing it as an adult.

It would be a little bit more of a hassle to head to CM, but you could also build it into a little break. There is plenty of seating around where you can relax for a bit (we usually do this once a trip). We make our way to behind the little store on the dining level and relax there for a bit. It’s pretty quiet over there.
