I am keeping an eye on cash prices and incentives for hotels. Epic universe likely pulling people away.

I took a look at some cash prices around 4th of July. Hot, but kids on vacation, parents vacation from work, I like that as a litmus test.

Value resorts average $200/night
Okw studios average $400/night
Akv/bwv studios average $500/night.

The dvc studios cash prices are around $30/point. Renting around $20/point is about a 33% savings vs the advertised 50% at some shops.

A first glance, it looks like cash room demand is weakening, after years of revenge travel. Commercial renters selling (if they can't get a good return), would likely push resale prices lower.

They just released a special for Disney+ subscribers for selected hotels for July! The All Star is as low as $99 with an AKV Savannah view as low as $339!!

With the free dining, ticket offer, and 50% ticket offer for kids, it certainly seems they are working hard to make sure people visit this summer!!!

Wow that's amazing! Just for July?

I also priced a cash stay yesterday for July. The AP discount is really strong. The DVC availablility was pretty good, so at 60 days, will more rooms be added to the cash side?
I also looked at dvc rental sponsor page. The ap discount price was lower than some of the rentals. There are some pricy rentals soon going to waste, apparently.

But then you’d have to be in C. FL in August….. August…..
We have to go by kids’ school breaks because Philadelphia doesn’t mess around with missed days. We decided between massive crowds (winter and spring break) and unbearable heat (August), we choose surface of the sun.

Edited to add: we did Disneyland last August with a week at national parks beforehand and that was perfect in every way. Maybe every other year?

I don't mind the heat so much, but the fact that it seems that the parks are just as crowded as ever makes me want to avoid it along with the heat, lightning and storms.

Look one more month ahead and with pretty much any discount, such as AP, cash room prices are half that. Coronado Springs and Port Orleans, I think, have a lot going for them.

I miss the years (hello 2014-2020) when the Magic Kingdom (and even for a while AK, when Pandora was new) were open until midnight over summer. BUT...I've you book either DVC or Deluxe, for an early week trip, you get two extra hours in Epcot (Monday) and two in Magic Kingdom (Wednesday). For summer, those are some really sweet times to be in the parks. Empty. And the temperature has gone done.

I remember the 2am closings! Those were amazing. We do take advantage of the Mon & Wed hrs in the summer, but everything needs to stay open a few hours after sunset multiple nights a week.

The discounts for cash stays covering 5/1/25 - 7/31/25 were announced 1/2/25 & ranged from 15% - 40%(AP.) On 3/27/25 the discounts for 8/1/25 - 12/22/25 (w/ blackouts) were announced & ranged from 15% - 35%. The problem w/ trying to compare discounts IME is that which discount (if any) applies to the stay you want to book is very murky - for example moderate resort A has no discount at all, resort B has the max discount, resort C has the max discount on preferred views but the minimum discount on standard views, etc.. Plus historically they’ve had quotas on discounts - so when X% of resort A is booked the discount disappears. I assume the quotas work in the other direction as well, if bookings are down then more discounts open up at various resorts/view categories.
The moving target of will I or won’t I get a decent discount for my annual WDW visits was one of the factors that pushed me into the DVC owner camp :).

Yes! The last time I stayed cash in a villa I had to stalk the website to finally get the discount. For the days I checked for July, the SSR 2 bdrm preferred was $750/ night which I thought was a decent price for the amenities. One pool crowded? There’s 3 more!

I don't think the Disney+ / AP room offers are combinable with the free dining. I think you can still get 50% off kids tickets. But yes, there are some crazy low room rates right now. And with uncertainty in the economy, I would expect Disney to start dumping some value and moderates onto Exedia/Priceline like they used to pre-pandemic at even lower rates, especially for late Aug/Sept. The combo of no-new-rides/Epic Universe/downturn in the economy/and even the delayed nighttime parade and the slightly delayed opening of Test Track 3.0 is going to make it a very, very soft summer at WDW.

This. There's a priceline thread on the board with a great guide someone created. I've gotten some really good deals in the past.

You can not combine the ticket deals with free dining. You can get the discounted room and then get the discounted tickets.

So, for those visiting in July, and Disney+ subscribers they can get a pretty budget friendly trip this year!!!
