Tariffs now paused on everyone, except China. DVC pricing lags behind markets, typically, by months. So if it's going to be an on-again / off-again march toward maybe a recession, I'm not sure that DVD will meaningfully adjust incentives in summer. I have no idea how large businesses are managing this type of whiplash unpredictability. China's tariff has now been raised to 125%. I'm just waiting to see if China takes out its frustration on American companies inside their country--such as Shanghai Disneyland.
Market go up again now🍿🍿🍿👀👀

I am doing my best to avoid commenting on the wild news swings of the day for the many people on this thread who are trying to shut it out… but if I was responsible for DVC, I’d be doing a 1 day or 2-3 day fire sale type promotion (maybe VDH and PVB both $25-40 off for less than 72 hours?) to try and move as many contracts as I could to have a capital cushion for whatever comes next.

Personally I think most people have been really good about leaving out political opinions. Everyone has mostly been discussing how economic news and trends are likely to affect DVC pricing, incentives, and business trends moving forward. To me, that all seems fine.

Agreed! maybe there should be an economic pricing trend thread so those that don't want to hear about it can avoid.

But this thread is literally about where do we see resale prices going and world events/economy/trade can affect, that so yeah 👍

Blast from the past to show Disney has done quick 3 day sales.

https://dvcnews.com/index.php/dvc-program/financial/1431-dvc-black-friday-sale

IIRC that was the last time BLT direct price was under $100.

Today, I'm not sure Disney is nimble enough to pull something like this off. In 2009-2010, webcasts and many other approaches were common.
A real doorway to the past is this site still up 🤣

PVB direct $40 off before Magical Beginnings? I'd buy it.

Semi related: anyone else get a Disney survey email asking questions about a recent contract you sold? I got one today (sold a small BRV contract a few weeks ago). Asked about how it went, which broker I used and general questions about why and how I felt about my financial future (discretionary spending).
I got something similar when I sold last year.

That is exactly what is okay to post here. As long as it’s related to DVC without the twist, then it works!

DVC offering deeds in lieu of foreclosure to direct buyers who’d financed, those who’d financed to buy resale or via HELOCS (a popular option then due to easy credit & the lower interest rate) didn’t have that out.
Important for folks to remember and why I do not advocate the HELOC option to anyone when they suggest it.

My guide actually suggested heloc when I told him our house was paid off and we don't have full cash for direct because we just closed on akv and wont finish paying that one off until June.

I told him he was nuts 🤣🤣

Do you think its possible SSR could go down to $70 pp? I'm dreaming of buying a 300 point contract the same price i paid for BLT

It is a shame you weren't around for the VGF fire sale they had! I still have FOMO lol
I know i am so sad about that lol, VGF is not my fave but I would have totally jumped on that! I truly think I just went on an off week. I am seeing some pretty decent pricing lower than before on the market today... could this be the beginning haha!
