Planning on using my tax refund towards our trip and then start socking it to it so when I leave it is all paid for (not haunting me on credit cards when I return!). Thanks! That's exactly why I started saving - I don't want a huge credit card bill waiting for me when I get home. Talk about a buzzkill! I can't believe I leave for Scotland on Friday!!


I see the boards are less wacky today!

My cruise leaves 2 months from yesterday and I leave for Scotland on Friday night! So crazy!!! That trip snuck up on me. I think I'm ready for it. The only thing I have left to figure out is what I'm going to pack. They don't want us to wear jeans and we have some nights that are business attire/business casual. I'm also still waiting for my phone to get here which should hopefully be by Thursday so I have some time to play around with it.

Oh and that shirt from Target I posted? Cancelled! While it was processing they sold out of my size. I didn't like the other colors they had so I won't be re-ordering. Oh well!

Woohoo can't believe Scotland is so close! Too bad about the phone, but yes I was going to mention the rental option. I have a Verizon iPhone and my biggest pet peeve is that it doesn't work overseas. Ridiculous! I almost didn't get it because of that.

As for getting euros, usually it's much cheaper to just go to an ATM when you get there to get them! You'll get the best exchange rate. Only issue is if your bank charges a huge fee. Before we went to Italy I switched banks to usaa which doesn't charge any international fees AND they dont charge ATM fees and return all atm fees that other banks charge you. And capital one credit cards also don't charge international exchange fees. I made the mistake of getting something like 500 euros before our trip and the exchange rate was horrendous. Maybe you found a cheaper way to do it though.

I wasn't sure if the movie was set in Scotland or Ireland LOL. I wonder if they'll mention it during the tour. A lot of Harry Potter was filmed in Scotland too so I wonder if we'll get to see any of that!

I rented the phone for 10 days for free. I had to pay for shipping and the minutes I'll use on the phone. It looks like a phone I had when I was 18 but I'll deal for a week LOL.

We are going to do MNSSHP....very excited!

I read that it's set in Scotland on IMDB.com. I absolutely LOVE Merida already....can't wait to see "Brave!".

Thanks! Lucky for me I didn't have to plan anything. The tour company took care of that. They have plenty of tours for countries in Europe. If you ever plan a trip there, you should look into one! Most people do that for the first time rather than doing everything on their own.

Well I leave for Scotland tonight! I called in sick yesterday (shhh I really wasn't, I just needed a day off) and packed. I only have the little things left like my makeup, hair dryer, etc. I'll do that when I get home - I'm working today until 3. My flight is at 7:40. I'm checked-in! I keep thinking if there is anything else I need to do but I think I'm set.

I'm so nervous!! I've never flown overseas before. I've never been out of the country before unless you count Canada and cruising to Bermuda & Bahamas. And I'm doing this all by myself! I'm sure there will be other people who are a part of this FAM on my plane - I'll be on the lookout for them! We all got CIE Tours backpacks and I'm using mine as my carry on. We get in super early at 7:30 AM Scotland time. I hope they'll have a room ready for me so I can rest a little but I doubt it. Once I get to the hotel with the rest of group I'll be ok. I hope I get a cool roommate!
