Cruising, Wining, and Disney Dining - Two 2012 PTRs in One! **TR LINK UP**

Hi guys!

This isn't really trip related but I figured I'd post this here since it's mostly women who read my PTR. I have a wedding coming up in June. The ceremony is on the beach but the reception is in a hall. Kris is in the wedding & was told he has to wear khakis & a white button down for the ceremony & a tux for the reception. I have a VS rewards card that has to be used by the end of the month so I'm probably going to get the dress from there. I found two that I like - which do you think is more wedding appropriate? I'm trying to keep it somewhat casual since it's on a beach but I don't want to wear a sundress or anything since the reception will be more formal.

They have both dresses in solid colors but I like the prints better. Any feedback is appreciated :)

On a completely unrelated topic, I leave for Scotland in 13 days! And I still haven't received a finalized itinerary! At this point, I'm going to get a 5 day tour of the Glasgow airport. I still haven't exchanged $ for pounds or bought a converter or figured out if my cell phone is going to work over there! I'm slacking and need to get my butt in gear! I'm starting to panic a little because I am SO unprepared and have no idea what to expect. I think I need to stop at the library and pick up a Scotland for Dummies book asap!

Hope everyone has a great weekend! Happy Easter/Passover!

I'll get around to seeing it one of these days! If I ever stay at one of the monorail resorts, especially Contemporary because I can just walk over, I'll definitely do it. I've never even experienced a rope drop there! I'm going to try for it this trip.

AH! Rope drop at MK is the best!!!

I personally like the 2nd dress better. I love halter dresses and that one could definately work for a less formal ceremony and formal reception.

I like the second dress!

I hope you get your itinerary soon! I have a feeling your cell phone may work there but you will get charged some HUGE roaming fees!!

I think I like dress #1 better, but I think dress #2 is more wedding appropriate. I think it'll be good for the beach and the reception. So odd that Kris needs two different outfits, though! :confused3

That is weird about the 2 outfits for Kris! And that the reception is more formal than the ceremony. I also like dress 2 better, but maybe it is just the print on dress 1 that bothers me, lol. I like the actual dress but think the print is a bit...loud? Idk.

I like both dresses! But, if I had to pick one, I would probably go with the second one! :thumbsup2

I hope you can get everything situated with your Scotland trip! haha I work really well under pressure, so I think the time crunch would actually help me plan better! haha:lmao:

I've started researching how much money I should bring and how much adapter/converter sets are LOL. So I'm good there. If I don't get an itinerary by the end of day tomorrow, I'm going to email the tour company and see what's up.

I KNOW!! I agree 100% That also means two sets of pictures for them, in the beach gear & then again in the formalwear. This girl is somewhat of a bridezilla so it doesn't surprsie me.
I like the print on dress 1 cause it's purple and I love purple LOL. I like bright colors.

I like option #2 also :)

:thumbsup2

I think it's more wedding appropriate too. And I agree, it's weird that its casual and then formal. Don't even get me started on how crazy I think the bride is!

Another vote for dress #2

:thumbsup2

I like the second dress!

I have a month to month contract - I pay a flat rate for my minutes each month so I don't know if I'd even get charged roaming fees. I need to call my cell phone company.

I'll have to make it to a rope drop. Probably on my birthday! How early should I leave AKL, that is the question!

Thanks for your input ladies! I think I'm going to go with dress 2. It's a bit more expensive but I think it's more wedding appropriate. Thanks again!

If rope drop is at 9am, try to get to MK around 8:30am. Then you can pick a great place to watch the opening show. I have no idea how long it takes to get to MK from AKL.

I've read that it can take 30-45 minutes to get to MK. I'm figuring if we get on a bus by 8AM, we should be ok.

Hi everybody!

Yesterday I finally received my itinerary for Scotland from CIE tours! I thought I would just get an email - that's how it's worked with every other fam I've been on. Not this one! They sent me a backpack & inside was my itinerary along with a poncho, luggage tags, a luggage strap, a calling card, information on purchasing an international phone, and booklet about what to expect from the tour. Nice! I purchased an adapter/converter yesterday so that's another step down. I still need to verify with my phone company if my cell phone will work. If it doesn't, I'm going to put more money on the calling card they gave us or purchase an international SIM card that I can put into my phone. If my phone isn't compatible with that, I'll have to get an international phone which is a little pricey. I'd rather not if I don't have to! Next week, I'm going to exchange about $300 for pounds. Most of my meals are included so I really only have to worry about tips, some lunches, and souvenirs. Usually these tour companies give us so much stuff you don't even need to buy anything but I want to have some cash on me just incase!

I've been doing some shopping here and there for my Disney trip, one little piece at a time. This is the first of many shopping posts. :)

The shirt on the left is the one I'm going to wear to MNSSHP! The tank I purchased on clearance from Victoria's Secret. I have an Angels card with them so I shop there a lot! The top is comfy, light, and loose - perfect for the Florida weather!

Both shorts are from VS. The shorts on the bottom are super light weight!

I bought this yesterday from Target.com. It was on clearance for $7! They have a couple of cute Disney shirts in the clearance section - anyone who is looking for some should check it out! I'm planning on wearing this shirt with the red shorts (if the reds match). If not, I'll pair em with khaki shorts I have. And yes there will be an outfit post closer to the trip!

Next to planning & actually being at Disney World, shopping for the trip is my favorite activity! ;)

172 days to go!!!

Wow! The boards are wackadoodle today! I see the colors don't work, I had to type the code in rather than just click from the drop down menu. And when I clicked on a couple of my subbed threads before, I was taken to a completely different thread! :confused3 I hope they can get it fixed soon!

I just wanted to quickly post to say that we purchased our tickets! I received an email from HR saying we could buy certain Disney tickets at a 20% discount. They had a 7 Day Base option available so we went ahead & bought them! We were orginally going to get a 5 day base but with this discount it was $30 cheaper and now we get 2 extra days! So our tickets are all set! :) Plus I get two 2 day park hopper & water park passes for free from Disney for being a TA. I submitted a request for them & it was approved. I just have to wait for a confirmation email which they probably won't send until our dates are closer.

I found out that my cell phone will NOT work in Scotland so I have to get an international phone. I was going to buy one but you can actually rent them & send it back when you're done. Doing it that way I basically get the phone for free & just have to pay for shipping and the minutes I use. I can't believe I leave in 8 days! I can't believe it's mid-April!

Hope you guys have a great weekend and the boards are back to normal soon!

Love the shopping post! Very cute clothes...LOVE that spiderweb Disney shirt! Too cute! I need to figure out what we're doing for MNSSHP. I'd love to do costumes, but Tony hates dressing up. I think I might get custom tye dye shirts again. The girl on etsy has a really cool fall combo that I love.

Can't believe you leave for Scotland so soon! Did you know Scotland is the setting for the new Disney movie "Brave" coming out this summer?! I love the previews and Merida looks like an awesome character. That stinks about your cell not working overseas, but I like that you can rent international phones. I might have to do that someday if Madison ever qualifies for the World championships of Irish dance!

Nice purchases! I am all about lightweight and comfy when it's hot!

Have an awesome time in Scotland! How long is that trip for?

Love the pink top! Loose & light in definitely the way to go in FL! Those shorts are super cute too-- especially the red ones! I'm so picky about shopping online (worry about fit), but I LOVE the clothes on VS.com! Do you know how easy it is to return stuff to them? I'd order more if I knew it was easy to return!

Do you have Verizon? I am in charge of our company phones and they have the "loaner" program where you just pay $20 for the FedExing and get to have a global smart phone for up to three weeks. I thought it was a really great program!

Thanks! Have you guys decided to definitely go to MNSSHP?

I wasn't sure if the movie was set in Scotland or Ireland LOL. I wonder if they'll mention it during the tour. A lot of Harry Potter was filmed in Scotland too so I wonder if we'll get to see any of that!

I rented the phone for 10 days for free. I had to pay for shipping and the minutes I'll use on the phone. It looks like a phone I had when I was 18 but I'll deal for a week LOL.

Thanks! It's for 5 nights. I leave on the 20th but with the time difference, I won't get to Scotland til the 21st. I come home on the 26th.

I've never had to return anything from VS so I'm not sure how easy it is to return. Everything I've ever ordered from there has fit perfectly! I love their clothes.

No, I don't have Verizon but Kris does so if he ever travels overseas, thanks for the tip! :) I ended up renting a phone. The rental was free, I just had to pay for shipping & of course the minutes I use. The phone looks like an old school Nokia though. I'm so used to my smartphone!

Love the clothing purchases, especially the pink top. Adorable! I always love finding cute stuff on clearance. I have been saying I needed a more casual jacket for wintertime besides my long pea coat, and I found a short double breasted jacked on clearance from Target for $13! They always have about a million things to pick through on their clearance page, but sometimes it's worth it to dig through. :thumbsup2

I know!! I was looking through the Target clearance site and there were pages upon pages of things. I found a couple of cute Disney shirts I want to buy too. I'm going to have a whole new wardrobe by the time this trip rolls around!
