Hi All

Soo. Ool that we will be sailing on Mothers Day. I didn't realize.

I , although not in the popular crowd, do not like the chocolate souffle from Palo.

It's very mushy.

Never done a 2week cruise. Do we still only get one dinner and one brunch for Palo? Seems they should be able to fit in more than that for each person.

Not only is this our first cruise as a family but it's a Disney cruise and 15 nights at that. We'll be too spoiled to enjoy other cruises. It'll be my wife and I with my 5 girls (16, 14, 12, 11, 9) and my in-laws.

Not only and I am 100% in your side but I will take it a step further. I don't care for the dinner there at all.

Yes you can only pre reserve one if each but trust me you will be able to get more when you board.

We were on the Magic for Mother's Day in 2012. I think it was the last day of the cruise, actually. I recall seeing a display of sorts going into Parrot Cay for dinner but don't remember anything all that special in the way of offerings, meals, etc. It was another day in paradise. We may get some special things offered this time, tho, considering its a long voyage and on a sea day.

That would be cool if they did something special for Mothers Day :)

Hi all,

Really excited about this cruise which I booked last month,, it's two of us, Maria and DH Phil on deck 7 from the UK. 2nd Sitting.

Thanks.

Welcome Maria and Phil, we are from the UK also. Whereabouts are you from?

We booked last week. It will be my mom, hubby and I and our 4 kids who will be (then) 7boy, 6girl, 4boy and very nearly 3girl. So close to being three that we are going to beg for her to be allowed in the club (assuming she's done with the whole potty training business).

This is our second Panama cruise. We are super excited about it. We did it the other way in December 2012 and it was amazing. There were hardly any kids and it was just so relaxing to hang out and get in the groove of being on the ship.

Welcome, I have added you to the roll call :)

Hello! My family just booked this cruise - me (Erin), 38, and my sons Elliott, 9, and Oliver, 6. This will be the first time I travel alone with the kids beyond a few days at Disneyland here and there. I'm nervous about filling up so much alone time, but I imagine it will be nice! We are all completely excited about every aspect of the trip. The next year is going to feel so slow!

This is our second Disney Cruise (did the Mexican Riviera in March, 2012), and the kids have been begging to go back ever since. We were originally going to do the 3-night out of San Diego but then decided to upgrade to this one. We live in Coronado, CA (across the bay from the cruise ship terminal), so this itinerary is perfect for us. Knowing we have a cruise booked will make it a lot easier next month when the Wonder is in port and I hear the horn blowing as they sail away!

Oh! And we have the first seating for dinner, but won't know our room number for a while, as we booked GTY. We will definitely want to participate in a FE! It was one of the highlights of our last cruise for the kids... and just a couple of weeks ago I was lamenting the fact that I didn't have one in my future when I saw a bunch of cute little Disney things! Yay!

Welcome, have added you to the roll call. I hope you get a great cabin :goodvibes

Hi everyone,

My name is Karilynn (Malia78) and I'm sailing with my mom (Joan) and possibly a third roommate. This will be my 5th cruise and the one that makes me Gold.:cool1:

In room 2126.

Hi Karilynn, I have updated the roll call with your details.

Over on the FB group, there was an idea of looking into group hotel rates for the night before the cruise. I have sent requests for information to Residence Inn, Embassy Suites, and Comfort Suites (all MIA area) to see what they can offer. I figure this is one of those important things that needs to be in both places!

Does anyone here that's not on the FB group have any other hotels they recommend or would like to research?

I'll make sure to post the info I get back in both places as well. :thumbsup2

Once on board I discovered something about the wave phones that I didn't see in any of the posts, so thought I'd share.

Many posters have commented/complained that you can only charge one phone at once, when in fact there are two ways to keep multiple phones charging at the same time.

Method 1: Spare Battery Charging Slot:

Behind the main charging slot you will find another small slot with a thin metal strip on top. If you pull the battery out of the second phone and slide it in that little slot, underneath the metal strip, you will see a light go on and it will start charging. Works great for overnight charging of two phones.

Method 2: Micro-USB port

If you look at the phone and the charger in detail, you'll see that everything is powered by USB power and micro-USB ports. This is the same port type used to charge most non-Apple phones, Kindles, etc. With power strips now outlawed and outlets limited I just brought two of the Anker 5-port USB chargers that others have recommended here (these are handy at home too), along with plenty of cables. So with 10 USB charging ports at our disposal there was no problem keeping wave phones fully charged. If someone wanted to free up an extra outlet, they could charge both phones this way and get rid of the bulky charger altogether.

On a side note, we used the wave phones often since we were traveling with another family, but like others found them a little dated and clumsy to use. But they got the job done. With the Navigator App now available on all the ships and WiFi coverage pretty good, I see no reason why they couldn't just integrate text and talk into the app, which would eliminate the need for wave phones all together.

Hope this is helpful! Sorry I couldn't post links or photos to make it more clear.

Holiday Inn at the Port of Miami. Only a mile walk to the terminal and across the street from a lot of shopping and dining.

We would be interested in a Miami hotel pre-cruise. I sent a request to join the FB Group.

DisneyMom4ever (Christina) - we will be next door to you in #5520 and will be a couple of weeks shy of celebrating our 14th anniversary.
