Sorry, I tried to find the answer to this but couldn't. I see conflicting answers on the DVC website. In the points review section is says I can book any cruise departing 1/1/09 or earlier. In the booking windows section it says that I can book 11 months in advance. Which is it, 2 years or 11 months?

If the answer is 2 years does anyone know the point requirements for the 12/26/09 7-day Western cruise?

TIA!

I have always read 11 months booking window for the DCL.

There was a poster on here earlier who said he booked DCL with points for 2009. Since the point charts for 2009 are not out yet, I would call MS and inquire. Typically, if they could book it, it would be subject to adjusting the points up or down once the point charts were published.

I have not inquired of MS about this recently, so who knows. Give it a try. Good luck! :)

It's 2 years. I had asked my guide last month and that was his answer.

It has been a number of years (maybe 5), but we booked outside the 11 month window.

The real answer seems to be as soon as the point charts are available. But it is rare that you find them posted more than 2 years out. The points for 2009 will probably not be released for another month or two.

We booked a 7-night Eastern Caribbean cruise for the summer of 2009 using DVC points. Our "My DVC" section said that we could book a cruise through 12/09, so it must be a 2 year window. When I booked last Wednesday, the CM I talked to in MS said they just got the 2009 points chart book that day. I know the points needed for a category 8 Oceanview room went up considerably from the 2007 & 2008 points.

Yikes! I'm off a year, aren't I. They may not have all of 2009 available yet, but I would call and ask. It could be some time before they are on the website.

Thanks for the help. I was able to book a Dec '09 cruise. I was quite surprised at the large increase in points from '08 as there did not seem to be so much of an increase the previous year.

I just called today about a June 2009 Eastern (Tortola) and was also surprised at the jump in points - though I was happy to see that the cash price was actually reasonable (that is for the adult passenger). No bargains for the kids.
