HI All -
Just checking in to see what is going on...To all of the "First Timers," if you have any questions please feel free to ask. My Dw and I have quite abit of DCL experience. We'd be happy to answer any questions if we can.

I have read your conversations about letting your kids sign themselves out. At this point, our children are way too young, however, I agree with the "you can never be too careful" thought process. I am an over-protective, former Navy, Dad that watches like a hawk. It works for us, but not for everyone. I know it's "Disney", but you can never be too safe with yoru kids. Just mho.

Thanks for checking in ... been wondering how you are doing. Your opinion counts for a lot considering you are our only dad on this thread so far if I'm not mistaken!!

Casey is 8, but no way am I letting her roam around unsupervised.

I still need to get my butt on the ball and either make a FE or buy one! I could use Hot glue (no sewing machine here)

I am right there with ya!!

I am going to attempt to make one...hopefully this weekend. I don't sew either but am planning to use Heat Bond. I can't sew but I can work an iron.

I can't believe how close it is.

Well, I can't believe this ... but I just booked the MNSSHP for October!!

We are sooooo excited!! I have always wanted to go to Disney at Halloween and now we are!

How many pockets do you suggest??

Also, did we decide to do a delivery each day ... or is there a rotation that we can come up with that will get everyone to be guaranteed to get SOMETHING each day ... but maybe just from different people???

Or since we have such few families ... are we doing each family each day??

We're in 6113! It'll make the FE exchange so easy if we're all on the same deck! I don't care if we set up a schedule, or just leave it to random chance. Knowing me, I'll be so excited to give out our gifts that I'll want to have them done before dinner the first night

Are we the only ones who stuck with a cheap inside cabin? I decided that for such a short cruise we wouldn't get much use out of it. But now I'll probably suffer from verandah envy the whole cruise!

Jenni- you can come over and hang out with us on our Verandah....

This is our first cruise, we needed the full affect to see if we want to do a 7 day next year. Course DH is talking DisneyLand next year so we will see! We haven't even passed this Vacation yet!

Thanks for the offer Diana. I think for a seven day I would definitely want a verandah. DH and I have cruised before but this will be our kids' first cruise. We may be wishing for the larger stateroom and the divided bathroom more than the verandah! Good thing we're a close family!

I just ordered the personalized fish extender gifts. Hint - these are for the adults. I still need to get stuff for the kids. I'm off work Friday, will do a little shopping then.

I need some ideas for Adults... Dh was thinking naughty ideas, but I told him we have kids with us and we really don't need the kids seeing things naughty.. so I need some neat ideas..
How old are your kids Jenni?

Our kids are 11 and 9, which seems to be a popular age group for kids on this cruise. I was thinking kids and adults alike would probably enjoy pirate items. Did I read somewhere that they still have the Pirates in the Caribbean party but no longer give out the hankerchiefs at dinner? That might be a fun option for a FE gift. I ordered some pirate eye patches for all the kids (except for the baby). He's going to be my challenge.

At 9 our daughter likes to act like she's outgrown the princesses but I think her inner child will win out on the cruise. There's always Hannah Montana too. I think for boys in this age group, sports and video games are usually popular so maybe something sports themed? Some ideas I've seen on other threads that I think my kids would enjoy include candy, note pads and pens, tattoos, and bubbles. Anybody else have good suggestions?

I almost forgot, there are some threads with cute ideas of FE gifts for adults too. Some things I remember are small airplane-sized bottles of alcohol, luggage tags, keychains, postcard kits with postage, inexpensive photo albums, and CDs burned with tropcial music. And I think most adults would enjoy candy, pens, notepads, etc. right along with the kids!

Another cute idea was stateroom "survival kits" with necessities like zip lock bags, zip ties to keep the FE in place, clothes pins to hold the room divider closed, band aids, safety pins, etc.

And I laughed out loud when you said your DH was thinking naughty gifts for the adults! Sounds like something my DH would say! Is it too stereotypical for me to say all men think alike lol?

OK...I have been so slack lately. I am so excited that we have a FE group! I bought our FE tonight! Now onto goodies! Looks like I have the babies of the group but they are easy to please right!?!

We are on the 6th deck too...I will have to check for the room #. And unless I get on here a lot in the next week I won't be able to PM so I will just post here!

Can't wait...my 3 year old is soooooooooooooo excited. She talks about it everyday on our way home from school!
