Cruise's (Chris) Accountability/Sap Journal :) (comments welcome)

Haha, I hear you. There are just certain times when all I want is chocolate, and salt. And sugary soda!

Okay - well today went pretty well. I stayed around my 1200 calories like I wanted to. However, I am hungry right now and I think I just need to get my body readjusted, and my mind, at spreading my food out more and watching more closely what I'm eating. I need to get back to eating sandwiches for lunch rather than dinner leftovers because I tend to eat more calories at dinner - and that hasn't bothered me yet. If it does, then I'll just adjust and started moving my meals around a bit. One bad thing was someone ate my yogurt at work and so I didn't get my yogurt in today. That would have been 100 more calories but I think that would have been okay.

So here's my food:
breakfast
chocolate chip kudos bar (very close to what my fruit and oatmeal bars were)

lunch
lemon chicken breast
1 cup chicken rice
1/2 cup cottage cheese

snack
18 carrots
1 TBSP dip
cheese stick

dinner
1 market day ham steak
1/2 cup mac and cheese
1 cup corn

And my totals: 1240 cals, 25.25 fat grams, 151 carbs, 5.5 fiber grams

I think I need to start taking a fiber substitute. I have been very constipated (sorry if TMI) lately even though I'm eating the same amounts of fiber that I had been eating. We'll see once I get more fruit and oatmeal bars if that improves. I am hoping it does - although they don't have THAT much fiber in them.

So all in all I did pretty well. I'm heading to bed now so that I don't eat. Oh, almost forgot - I had 93.8 ounces of water today and I didn't even workout (which is generally where I get my extra water).

Hope everyone had a good night. I started on journals yesterday and never got to finish. I'm hoping to work on them some this weekend.

Keep on

Hi Chris-

I just wanted to drop in and thank you for being the first person to post on my journal. If you didn't get a chance to look, I decided to take your advise and work on drinking more water. Today I had more than 64 ounces, which is good for me.

Fiber ideas- I eat a lot of whole grain products and brown rice. I don't know if adding more whole grains would mess up your diet structure, but it works for me. :)

{{HUGS}} Chris! You're doing so well, don't get discouraged. I've been on maintenance since December and even I go up/down 1-2 lbs some weeks. It's just.......well......it's just........WHO KNOWS! :confused3

Daily scale movement is NOT to be expected so don't let that get you down. Just keep plugging along.....this takes time, trust me I know! You CAN DO IT! I KNOW YOU CAN!! :cheer2:

Thanks guys - this morning was much better. The scale was back to where it was on Sunday. I have no clue what happened or what was going on but my body was rebelling for some reason. I feel so much better today with the scale. Last night I got on again and I had only gained .5 pounds throughout the day so I knew it had to be good this morning (I know, don't get on the scale two times a day but I couldn't resist). If it hadn't changed this morning, I was going to kill the scale!!!!!

So tomorrow I'm talking to the nutritionist about what calories I need to be at to lose. Apparently 1200-1300 is where I need to be but I'm worried it's not enough calories. We'll see what she says.

Thanks again everyone - today is a good day which is good. Gonna workout tonight, gonna eat good today, the sun is shining, it's a beautiful crisp fall day.

Everyone have a good day!!!!

You sound so much more positive today, I'm glad you are feeling better about things! I'm sure the nutritionist will be able to tell you what your calorie range should be. If you are still hungry after only 1200 calories, you are right - it might not be enough.

You are doing so good - you have lost 30 lbs!!!! Just keep that thought in your head, hold your head up high and be proud of what you've accomplished so far. The weight will start coming off again, don't worry!

Keep it up! :cool1:

Hi Chris,

I hope the consultation with the nutritritionit goes well. I have to agree that 1200 s bare minimum. If you are still hungry at 1200, you may need a snack.

Take care,
Beth

Well went to Jazzercise and I didn't feel like it was that great of a workout but I did it. Going on Saturday morning again as well. Didn't make my challenge totals but that's okay - I'm fine with that.

Today went okay - here's what I had:

breakfast
kudos bar
fat free yogurt

lunch
1 ham steak
1/2 cup mac and cheese
1/2 cup cottage cheese
cheese stick

snack
fat free tapioca pudding

dinner
oven roasted chicken breast sub
1 ounce baked lay's sour cream and onion

Any my totals are 1315 cals, 22.25 fat grams, 171.5 carbs. Didn't keep as good a count on my fibers grams today. I will get on the scale tomorrow and see what my final count for the month is.

I am still a bit hungry so I may have a very small snack - either a fat free pudding or something under 100 calories. I'm not sure. I have a blazing headache so I may drink my diet pepsi and go to bed. I'm pretty tired. I did get in 105 ounces of water today.

Hope everyone had a good night!!!

9/30/05

Talk to you all later today.

Way to ROCK September!!! Congrats!

Hope you have a great weekend :)

Thanks everyone.

Well the appointment at the nutritionist was good. I did forget to ask her how many calories I should make sure and eat in order to keep losing. There was too much other stuff that she wanted to talk about with Britt and that was the reason we were there. Britt has done good in the nutritionists eyes. She has lost 21 pounds since June 30 and that is very good. Now we need to focus on getting more fats out of her diet and she needs to work on working out more. She gave her a video tape of walking for diabetics by Linda Sansone (or something like that name) to use when she can't go to Jazzercise. I'm going to try this next week because I'm going to have a couple of nights that I can't make it. It's a 30 minute tape. I'm interested in seeing how it is.

So I've done well today. Had a professional development today for Student Affairs staff - Dr. Jamie Washington came and talked with us about diversity in Student Affairs - very very very good speaker. So I didn't eat much this morning, didn't get lunch until 1:30 and forgot I couldn't go get a salad like I was hoping for so I ate a LC Baked Chicken (I really like this one) and some cottage cheese. Hopefully going out to dinner tonight to Ruby Tuesday's and tomorrow is a definite date at Sweet Tomatoes (I LOVE that place!!!!). Right now I'm pretty low in calories so I'll be able to eat more than just salad at RT's and since there isn't much that I like it will probably be steak tips. We'll see.

Got a busy weekend ahead but it's suppose to be gorgeous here so gonna try to get outside some. Probably won't get to get on much tomorrow but will on Sunday. Everyone have a good Saturday if I don't see you. Gonna go get pumpkins in the morning!!!!

Keep on
Chris

-------------------------------------------------------
Okay - here's what I had today - we went to Ruby Tuesday for dinner and I had salad and a Chicken Wrap without the cheese (which I deducted) and it was very good - I was shocked.

breakfast
reese's peanut butter cup
kudos bar
cheese stick

lunch
fat free yogurt
lean cuisine baked chicken
1/2 cup cottage cheese

dinner
4 cups salad
4 tomatoes, 1/8 cup cheese, 1/8 cup eggs
4 TBSP light ranch dressing
1 chicken wrap
10 fries

The fries came with my dinner (well I had a choice and that was the best choice out of the ones that were available for me). I didn't count exactly so I'm probably over - I think I only ate like 5 or 6 but since I can't remember I'm marking 10. Totals are: 1353 cals, 54 fat, 111 carbs, 16.4 fiber (approx). Not bad, a bit high in the fat but I'm okay with that. And for once they had light ranch dressing at RT's and it was very good!!!!

Your meals sound so yummy! I love both Ruby Tuesday and Sweet Tomatoes!

I hope you have a great weekend! We're supposed to get some really nice weather today and tomorrow. It makes it so nice to be outside.

You're doing a great job. Keep it up!!! :cheer2:

Well had a pretty good day. Went and did some shopping - found out that Sam's has the 100 calorie packs - Oreo and Chips Ahoy - which I was happy about. Went to Sweet Tomato for dinner and had pizza for lunch and ate too much but it appears I did okay today. We'll see how I feel tomorrow.

Here's what I had today:
breakfast
kudos bar

lunch
4 pieces pizza

dinner
6 cups salad
miscellaneous items on salad
ranch dressing
chocolate lava cake (about 1/8 cup)
fat free frozen yogurt (about 1/8 cup)

Here's my totals: 1573 cals, 77 fat, 249 carbs, 9 fiber. Very high in the fat and carbs but I think I did okay on the calories. Some of the numbers I think I might have counted high because I can't find them in their online nutrition thing and I'm too lazy to go out to my car and get the pamphlet (plus I'm not dressed appropriately). Don't know if I'll get on the scale tomorrow. Had a very good hard workout today at Jazzercise too.

Chat later - keep on

Hi Chris!

Glad the nutritionist appt went well for you both!
So cool that Jamie Washington spoke to your division!! I have seen him keynote several times at conferences I went to and one I helped coordinate in my first professional position years ago in VT. I still use many of his materials and activities in the diversity training I do now. :)

Hope that you have a happy & healthy eve!
Mike :goodvibes

I am so excited this morning that I had to come and report I claimed a new clippie!!!!!! This morning the scale reported a 2 pound loss which now puts me at 35.5 pounds gone!!!! AND my wedding ring just about fits. I thought by the time I hit 35 I'd really be able to wear it but it's pretty tight in the morning still although fits great by the middle of the day. So I'm going to give myself another 5 off before I think I can wear it comfortably.

I was so excited this morning!!!! Thanks for letting me share.

Keep on

Way to go Chris!!!!   :cheer2: :cheer2:

Keep up the great work! You truly are doing great!

Have a wonderful Monday!

That is GREAT!!! Congrats! You will be able to wear that wedding ring in no time at the rate you are going.

Keep it up!!!!! :cheer2:
