Cruise's (Chris) Accountability/Sap Journal :) (comments welcome)

I know what you mean about the caramel topping! I used to do the same with a can of frosting in the fridge. I'd just get a finger scoop every now and then. However, as many scoops as I had, I probably would have been better off eating 2 chocolate chip cookies...

YAY on the loss! Have a great time camping! :goodvibes

Congrats on the loss and don't worry about the sweet tooth attack. It happens.

Have fun this weekend!

Hey Chris!!!!

Congrats on another pound down!!! That is awesome!!
I've been having visions of dancing donuts today myself, so I can empathize with your sweet tooth attack! I bet the squirts of caramel added up to less calories than if you really had gone wild on the cupcakes, so good job adapting!! I hope you are enjoying your time off of work and that you have a nice weekend!

Hello everyone. Back from a great weekend of camping. Kate - we are in IL and so it was CHILLY!!!! this weekend. Yesterday and today were absolutely gorgeous and beautiful, back in the 60's. But Friday and Saturday it was chilly - I sat around the fire with winter gloves on, sweatpants, shirt, sweatshirt and coat zipped up with the hood on and still couldn't get warm. But thankfully the heat works well in our camper and we were worried that we'd run out of gas (well my dh actually) so when we came home on Saturday morning to do things we needed to get done (and some meetings) we grabbed a new heater that I got for my room downstairs that has heat radiating all the way around out of it (not a rotating one) and we used that in place of the gas heat in the camper and Sat night and last night I had to get up in the middle of the night and turn it down because I was so hot. But all in all it was a great weekend as my dad got to camp for a few days too - always nice to spend time with my dad.

Food was NOT the greatest this weekend and despite all that I ate, I only gained a pound. I did finally prove to myself that I can make good food choices and still do okay. Some things that I had this weekend were hamburger (no bun no cheese) on the grill and mac and cheese Friday night courtesy of dad; leftover pizza for lunch on Saturday; chicken fingers and about 3 ounces of fries on Sat night for dinner; made pancakes and hash browns for breakfast yesterday (with sugar free syrup which was very tasty); made turkey and beef chili for dinner last night in the crock pot with Pillsbury dinner rolls that are low carb (the wheat ones are VERY good). On top of that Britt and I shared a caramel apple with chocolate, had microwave popcorn, had a couple of almond joy's, had some 100 cal packs, and had a full fledged fudge bar at the camp store yesterday (better than what I wanted). Then this morning we ended up having some condensation on the inside bunk of the camper and the canopy was misted so we had to let it dry out; so we went into town for breakfast and they served these HUGE pancakes (I ate one), american fries (sliced potatoes - about 1 cup), a nice slab of ham of which I had two bites (it was very good), and toast (ate 1 half of a piece). I was for sure I was done for it and had gained about 5 pounds. When we came home I got on the scale and it said I was up 1 pound. Not bad if you ask me. We'll see what it really says tomorrow!!!!!

DD and I took a nice walk yesterday, we went and workout on Saturday morning, and dh and I walked to dad's camper, which was a good hike, on Saturday early afternoon. So I did get some exercise in - a total of an hour.

Hope you all had a great weekend. The other highlight for us was that the Chicago White Sox advanced in the playoffs on Friday night!!!!! :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc :Pinkbounc Now we have to just wait and see who they play.

Have a great night.
Keep on

Hi Chris!

Glad to read you had a nice weekend camping, even in this cold!! And I am sure it does feel good to come back expecting a big gain and not have it happen! Good job! :)

Have a great night!
Mike :goodvibes

Boy you are doing a great job on your weight loss! :cheer2: It can be hard to eat right while camping. I always have a habit of packing pringles & we usually have chocolate chip mini muffins for breakfast! I think you did pretty good! :)

Well - I got on the scale this morning and am fessing up to a total of a 2 pound gain, which I definitely deserved. However, I'm still at 35 pounds off so okay in that field. I have started to feel better this morning though, not as swelled. But boy when I got up - my fingers hurt from the swelling. So I'm hoping to flush my body out and be back down those 2 pounds before the end of the week. Gonna try hard at it. This sweet tooth is really bad and it hit me all weekend and again last night. Gotta work on that.

Hope everyone has a great day.

Sounds like you had a great, (but cold :cold: ) camping trip. So you're up a tiny bit, oh well. That will come back off in no time, as soon as you get back to the normal routine. We all deserve a spluge once in a while!

The main thing is, overall, you've done super! And you continue to move in the right direction. :sunny:

Is there anything decent you can eat to get rid of your sweet tooth? I know you like the 100 cal packs, what about Peppermint Patties or butterscotch? Those are not too high in calories and they seem to work for me. I hope the urge to splurge goes away soon, I hate that feeling!

And you have the right attitude - the bloating will go away and you will start losing again. Besides, look at all you have accomplished already! Way to go, keep it up! :cheer2:

Hi Chris,

Glad you had a good time camping, even though it was a little chilly. I hear you about the sweet tooth issue. OMG it is so bad for me. I want to eat all the candy and cookies I can find!!!

Hope you are having a great Tuesday. Keep up the great work

Welcome back Chris,

It sounds like you had a good time. The weiht will come off quickly. Boy, I can relate to the sweet tooth. DO NOT buy any Halloween candy until the 30th.

Take care,
Beth

Hi Chris,

Hope you are having a great Wednesday!

You are doing such a good job. Have a good one!

Thanks guys - down .5 this morning. I think I finally killed the sweet tooth. I went to Culver's yesterday for lunch and got a salad and a single serving of Cookie Dough something. That seemed to have done it. I had been eating almond joy's (one a day), squirt's of caramel topping, having fat free frozen vanilla yogurt that is really sweet and nothing was doing it. This is the worst it's been since I started losing. I think some of it is stress as I have a doc appointment today that is going to be very stressful. But I'm also a week out before my TOM and that happens once in a while with me.

Didn't do well with water yesterday, didn't calculate my totals at all but did really watch what I ate. Seemed to do okay.

Have a great day - off to update the 5 for October challenge totals.

Keep on

That sweet tooth is a killer, isn't it!

Have a great day! :)

You are doing really good, I'm glad the evil sweet tooth has been conquered!

Hope everything goes well at the Dr. Keep it up! :cheer2:

10/12/05

Well I finally did totals today and I'm doing good so far. Have to have a snack tonight even though I'm not even hungry. I have a horrible headache from the stress of the doctor appointment and I'm finally going through some of the stress releasing and this headache is now coming on. I had found another lump, actually a few, and had them checked out. These weren't going away and I was just very stressed about it - everything checked out okay. Thanks for thoughts Amy.

Here's what I had:
breakfast
fruit and oatmeal bar
fat free yogurt

snack
cheese stick

lunch
turkey burger on wheat bread w/fat free mayo
bush's baked beans
reese's peanut butter cup

dinner
ham steak
1/2 cup mushroom rice

snack
1/2 cup fat free frozen yogurt

And totals are (or will be after my snack): 1295 cals, 26.5 fat grams, 177 carbs, 17.5 fiber grams.

Not a bad day at all. Because I had this doc appt in the middle of my afternoon I didn't get to eat my carrots. I'm very lacking in veggies and fruits lately and so I need to pump those up. I have been drinking at least 10 ounces of milk at night with dinner but didn't tonight and I'm not even sure why. That has really helped to fill me up at night. I have been VERY bad on my water intake the last couple of days. Today I only got in 42 ounces and I have had no exercise since Saturday - VERY bad but the days just haven't worked out for me to get there. I'll go this Saturday and then next week I'll have more free nights to go and our schedules won't be so hectic. I'm also working again this weekend at the football game for homecoming and so will be going, going, going from about 12:30 until 6:30 on Saturday. I think that will more than make up for my lack of exercise.

Have a good night - hopefully I can catch up on journals on Sunday. Apologies again for falling behind.

Keep on

I am so relieved to hear that everything checked out ok at the Dr.

I see that you gained 2 lbs but have already lost .5. I'm sure the rest will come right off once you have gotten back into your routine.

Well got on the scale this morning and happy to report the 2 pounds is gone. I'm back to what I weighed on Friday. Which I'm very happy about. So I'm back to 3.5 off for the month and back at 37 total so far. I really have to push it the next 6 weeks to make my goal of 50 by Thanksgiving but I think I will be able to do it if I really stick to it.

Don't know if I'll get to much today - have a meeting tonight so probably won't get back on because it's ER night!!!! :)

Hope everyone has a great day and evening.
Keep on
Chris

I'm glad everything checked out OK at the Dr! I would be stressed about that too!

Congrats on losing those camping lbs! You are doing so great, keep it up! :cheer2:  :cheer2:
