Cruise Newbie Question about Concierge Level

Another question: Does Shoreside Concierge contact you first or do you contact them (125 days out)? I already have a list started of requests.:sail:

They are not perfect they should email you, reports here it doesn't always occur. Email them at 125 if they have contacted you or not.

I think I'm going to regret asking this question but...

For a first time cruiser then, are we "last in line" for booking excursions? Is it a scrum like 180 day ADRs and the like, with patrons battling to get the last slot at ______?

And if it is, any tips? Lol.

Odd--but who knows what happened? All I can say is that both times we sailed Concierge we sat in the teacup table for 2 both times--w/o even asking.

And shoreside did tell us that Concierge folks are assigned the "most experienced" servers.

We got the tea cup tables at EG when we were in concierge. However, our main server was blah. She might have been experienced but she was not magical.

To be honest yes.

125 > 120 days Concierge guests make requests.
120 Platinum.
105 days Gold.
90 days silver.
Then 75 days new cruisers ( non concierge)

The Cabanas at castaway often have gone by 00.01 120 days.
Palo Brunch, Remy highly sort after. Often sell out fast.
Spa ( formal night, afternoon slots) and any shore trip with dolphins, animals like horses, sell out.
Boutiques appointments.
Special early flights in Alaska.
Palo dinner.
Various shore trips like St Petersburg where people can't go DIY.

Now this is an indication what normally goes. Each cruise can be different, but the most popular stuff can sell out.

Tips, for things like Palo request as soon as you get on in the location advertised in the welcome onboard navigator, and keep asking as people can cancel.

Thanks for the honesty and the details!

There are only certain excursions we can do due the kids ages so it worries me a tick but I guess we can just stay ship side if we can't get anything we want to do!

So much for hubby telling me a cruise is more relaxing! Hahahaha!

Most shore trips you can get, but have plan A and plan B so a back up choice, some cruises there are a lot of people who do not book, others they all book everything up, often the new cruise itineraries never done before, will have high repeat cruisers and those will have most slots gone as they are highly organised.

It's relaxing when you are on the ship, and even if you miss out on something there is always something good to replace it.

That actually makes me feel better - we don't care about cabanas and fancy restaurants, so that's ok. And sadly the kids are too young for the animal excursions so if that's what goes fast I'm ok with that! We will probably look for non-Disney booking excursions anyway.

Thank you!

And I am sure the trip will be relaxing - he just assumed I'd be more relaxed PLANNING it!

Yes only certain " prized " things go fast most the 75 day cruisers can book.

Did they have robes for kids too?

We when sailed in a T on the Wonder a couple years ago, there were 2 pink kiddie robes in the closet for my DDs waiting for us when we entered the room. My younger one wouldn't take it off! If there isn't one there when you get to the room, I would ask your attendant for them.

I do agree about the private sun deck--could use more shade or even maybe a small "foot pool". The misting is pretty useless. The area was nice tho for the two private character meets they hosted.

I thought it was the hottest place on the ship, to be honest. Little to no wind because of the glass and no shade. I've been up there *once* and couldn't get out of there fast enough because it was so hot.

I sailed in a Cat T room for a girl's cruise. It was amazing, but that being said, I don't think I'd do it with my family. I don't think the kids would appreciate the amenities that concierge offers. I would do it in a heartbeat with just my spouse for an anniversary cruise if the price was right. For an adult's cruise, it was amazing. We received such amazing attention by the staff. The room really was spectacular. We ordered hot breakfast every morning, but went to the dining room for dinner. We enjoyed a cabana on the adult side of the island.

You are correct. If you want to board together, your parents would board with the rest of the party, not the other way around.
We were told some non concierge guests can board at same time as us if they were in our group. Two cruises ago they allowed two non concierge cabins in our party to board with one concierge cabin. They did make us wait until the rest of the concierge group waiting boarded. But it was before general boarding.

Yes this commonly occurs, I have known a concierge family with a grandmother in her own non concierge room to go on with the family or like you say a bigger group held and go in at the end of concierge.

On fantasy it was so windy up there it kept blowing my shoes away. But I agree it can be hot.

The private sun deck is hot and dry, and yes windy at time, I like to see the sea so spent most of our time on our verandah.

We would never neverland there.

Depending on apparent wind, *anywhere* forward of Currents Bar is crazy windy sometimes. I found the Concierge sun deck to be significantly calmer than the big wind in front of it, and that was calm compared to getting in front of the glass and overlooking Vibe. I always feel like I need to clip in on a lifeline when I go all the way forward.

Well in Sept they are putting the foot pool/waterfall combo on the Dream on concierge level (believe it is already on the Fantasy) - not sure if it will technically be in concierge space. Perhaps they will add shade then.

The dream is getting Satellite Falls. That is different than the concierge sundeck and available to all guests over 18. It is forward of the concierge sundeck. But its our favorite location on the Fantasy and we love the easy access to it from the concierge sundeck. And grabbing some water, soda, sun screen, and nicer towels on our way out to it.
