Cruise keys and lanyards

On the Dream and Fantasy your key card also controls the lights. There is a card slot that you insert the key card in. If you don't want to take the key card out of the lanyard you may want to bring an old gift card/ rewards card to just leave in the key slot.

Yeah, I've heard that. I have an old photopass card I can use, I assume.

That should do...I use an expired grocery store card or my old library card. Nothing like being in the toilet room and having someone walk out and grab their card...so dark!!

I just keep the hotel key card from the night before embarkation and use it.

Someone said they put a small magnet on the 'spare' card and stick it to the door when they leave. So the card doesn't go all the way in the slot to activate the light?

No need. The slot is a tight fit. The key card will stay in place until you push in down to activate the lights.

When I went on my last cruise in April on the Fantasy, they gave us lanyards to place are keys in. I keep mine in my pocket, and so did everyone else in my DF.We encountered no problems fortunately. In addition, as the photo above shows on the Dream and Fantasy they do control your lights.

Oh! Thanks for the picture. I was just thinking a pic would be nice, but didn't think anyone would have one of their light switch. That's perfect.
