This is post 700 :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Elaine,
consider William and Patrick "deleted". (How come, that I sometimes feel like Arnie Schwarzenegger in "Eraser"?;) )

Cathy,
get well soon - A one-handed dunking will be too difficult :p

Mike,

yes, Kiel is still a very busy port city. Mainly all the connections from Germany to Scandinavia depart from there. We have a good look at the port traffic from our gym: It is located at the harbour and while working out on the treadmills you have a wonderful view over the whole area.

Good Morning all! I have not posted much, but have been trying to keep up with the posts. Between Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, PTA, DS birthday party(and of course a full time job!LOL) it has been very busy for the past 2 weeks.
I am SO GLAD today is election day, and the horriable radio/TV polictical ads will finally be over.
Hello to all our new cruisers! We are looking forward to meeting you. And of couse all our "old" friends...looking forward to seeing you all again.
"The Boss" is playing in Columbia (State Capital 2 hours from me) in Dec, but for the price the scalpers want I could spend a week at WDW. I would go in a second if I could get a ticket at the regular price (75.00) but there is NO way I am going to spend 800.00!!!
Eric I got your E-mail and will take care of it:D
Nancy..hope all is well. I've been thinking about you!

Got to get to work.

Po, po Cathy.:( Wish I could help. When Mike had his hands worked on I really got to "help" him.:teeth: That is how I got a computerized serger.;) Love that machine. I was hoping to get the Prius after he cut his thumb nearly off. Alas, he has rebounded with surprising speed. Must be the Katie effect.:p Hope you are back up the speed in no time. Ugh! Left handed would leave me in tears. I too am so right handed!

Elaine, I have begged Mike to talk "numbers" with the salesman but he refuses. The best we can come up with on our own is a little over 21 thousand. Does that sound right? I asked the salesman "before we got mad at him" if there was any "wiggle room" on the price he kind of hinted that there might be. I just wonder. Oh well. DD1 roof HAS to come first.:( Hope your house sells soon. A friend here just took a 20,000 plus beating on a house sell. She had been saving her checks to pay off her school loan for over a year then decided to buy a home. They used a lot of her money to redo the older home. They lost it all. :( They moved into an apartment because her hubby is a cop and he gets free rent. No, it don't make sense to me either.

Eric, that was me that called you Mr Smarty pants, not Mike. I forgot to sign my post. Sorry. Be aware though that Cathy and Kathy together can play dunking in the water.;) That is, if she still needs the help next Oct. :teeth: Boy, all four of us got sunburned that day at CC. Mike and I didn't even get off the boat the following Friday at CC. I was sick from the sun on that Sunday night after being burned.

Too bad we aren't going to have chillin's (kids) on the boat next year. Those walkie talkie's sound like fun. (Can you hear me now?) :p

Gotta get off and get ready to meet DD2 and Katie and her daddy for lunch. Take care everyone. Kathy

ps The cat juggler has been featured on some travel channels. He gets his cats (why so many?) from the Humane Shelter. It is reported that the cats really don't seem to mind it. It was me that wanted to see it. I have one 17/18 year old cat that probably wouldn't let him juggle him. He has claws a half inch long!

Kathy,
I only know how to throw felines: I use a cat-apult :jester:
I still think you are pulling my leg with that cat juggler ;) It sounds kind of mean to me.

BTW, did you know that Disney works on a solution to get rid of the wheels on the Monorail? And they are going to use cats for it!!!
It's very simple:
Everybody knows that a falling cat always lands on its feet. And everybody knows that a buttered toast always falls on the buttered side.
So you only have to fix some buttered toast on a cat's back (With the buttered side on top, of course!!).
Then you just let the cat drop and as both the cat's paws and the buttered toast want to touch down, the cat/toast-combo starts rotating exactly 1.75 inches above ground and hovers there eternally. Now you just have to fix about 400 cat/toast-combos to a Monorail and you have a state-of-the-art WDW-commuter running smoothly and frictionless. :jester:

Hi everyone! Had a great day at work today. Life is good! Ave'

Eric, sounds like a plan! Kathy:teeth:

I was hoping to see Mel Fisher's dive shop where a lot of the loot from the Atocha is located and drink a margarita at Jimmy Buffet's and maybe (Read, MAYBE) get to dive at John Pennycamp State Park and see the Jesus statue that is underwater there. Then the shark attacks were going on so I thought that maybe that wasn't a good idea after all. The sharks would love me!:o

I drove the Prius late yesterday and Mike rode in the back. He decided that it drove like a log wagon and changed our minds about it. I liked the gas mileage but he said that it would be a rough ride for Katie.

Hi Cathy, hope the paw is better. How is your boss? I saw where there was a big meat recall and wondered if that had been the reason for all those people getting sick.

Hi Mary, you and Ave sound busy, busy. Anyone heard from Dennis and Chrystina? I go this afternoon to orientation for Nurses for Newborns. Wish me luck. Several nurses I work with love it.

Hi Nancy and Norm, hope this finds you in fine form and not having to work too hard on the hockey games.

Take care everyone else, Kathy

Hi Everyone,

I am still out here lurking, just been to busy to write. Now that High School hockey started on Friday at least 2 days a week Norm has hockey since he is coaching. I have 2 more teams I need for Christmas and then can finish that schedule for the tournament. For Thanksgiving everything is done except to have it. I was way ahead on that schedule, guess the extra time off gave me a chance to get that done. One positive thing.

Elaine-- I finally mailed the pictures off this morning, so should have them in a few days.

Mary, Ave, Kathy, Eric will keep you posted, have another appointment today.

Nancy

Hey gang,

Eric after deciding against the prius we went to the vw dealer and looked at a tdi jetta wagon. Five speed that got great mileage. 45 city 50 hwy, but Kathy really loves the beetle so it looks like we are going to keep scarlet for now.

Nancy good luck on your next visit.

Ave and Mary sounds like you are both on the busy side.

Cathy hope the paw is better real soon and hope that Art abd Ashlee are doing well also.

How many are going to do the stingray tour with capt marvin next year??

Guess that I had better sign off and hope everyone has a nice day. Mike

Hi Mike,
keep the Beetle!!!! Do NOT take a Jetta!!! Why?
Over here the Jetta is called Bora, because the first Jetta was only bought by retired people over 70 (I'm not kidding!!). When the Jetta II went into the market the called it Vento to get rid of that image - It didn't work!!! So when Jetta III was ready for production they called it Bora to try it again and guess what? It still has the same image. It is a great car, but over here nobody under 70 would like to be seen in it.
But I know that Volkswagen placed the Bora/Jetta as a sporty sedan/wagon on the American market and is quite succesful with it. Will you take a Diesel again? Over here the 1.9 litre Diesel engine is the most successful powerplant in the Golf (The base the Jetta is built on) and is available with up to 150 hp. From 115 hp on it can be mated with a sixspeed manual and is quite a rocket with a remarkable mpg-output. Gas is up to about 4 bucks a gallon now and Diesel is about 15 % cheaper. So Diesel engines are very popular over here.

Right know I'm toasting some CDs and watching a movie which partly plays in your wonderful state Tennessee: "Rhinestone" with Dolly Parton and Sly Stallone. Perhaps you know it. It's a Country-Music-Comedy with Sly singing - Extremely funny :p

Eric, Rhinestone?!!! Isn't that the one where Dolly has to teach Sly how to be a country-western singer? You guys must be REALLY hurting for American movies. LOL;)

There was an ad in our local paper on Tuesday that I wanted my DH to answer. He was hesitent at first, but with my encouragement he called the number. The ad read as follows:
BEAUTIFUL, INTELLIGENT red head seeking male for an unforgettable romantic interlude on Sat. Nov 9 & Mon. Nov. 11.
Only AKC registered golden retrievers, age 2-5 years may apply for my paw. Call xxx-xxxx 2pm-7pm to arrange a get together.
We are meeting with the humans and the dog tomorrow night.

Later, Ave'

Kathy, Mike,
Have you looked at the Honda Civic Hybrid? That to is a high milage combo electric motor/gas engine. Honda had the Insight, but that was only a 2 seater. Now they also have the Civic Hybrid. I haven't driven in one or seen it, but just read about it at www.edmunds.com

Thinking about next October and Cruisetoberfest II :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc :bounce:

Hey Dave and the gang.

Eric we are hanging on to the beetle. The Jetta had a much more solid feel to it than the prius. We would not consider a vw without the tdi engine. Love our diesel!!! I had a 1982 isuzu pup pickup truck that was a diesel and when I sold it 10 years later it had 165,000 miles on it and still had the original belts and clutch in it.

On other thing Dave, you are right about your buns getting warm and the front of your legs freezing in the winter time:teeth:

Cathy hope that the little paw is doing better. Nancy hope that you are doing well.

Ave you are not going to have to pay paw support if your golden is a man about town are you?

Take care all and we will check you later. Mike

Yes Ave,

that's the movie. I like it very much and it was very difficult to get a tape of it. But I sometimes have a weird taste ;) I also tried to get it on DVD or download it from the web to be able to see it in the original version. So for the time being I only have the German-dubbed version.
For a C&W fan and Sly-fan this move is just fun. But as Sly himself said once in an interview, it is good that there is only one film in which he sang. It's like Arnie's Tango-dancing in True Lies :p

Hi everybody,

Just to let you know, Cathy, I am writing this one handed (right one) and even that is hard. Katie is in my lap and is attempting to say "hello" also! To bad she can't spell worth a flip.;) In stead she is mostly content to bounce on my leg or watch the fan blades go around.

We went to get Katie this morning at 5:30 am and stopped at Cracker Barrel for breakfast. I fed Katie a bite of grits and you would have thought I was trying to poison her. Girl don't like grits!I told her mama that she had been switched with a YANKEE baby!

Nancy, you go girl! I know what you need...another cruise to get the Christmas schedules done. Tell Norm.:Pinkbounc Maybe even get the 7 dwarfs to play, huh?:p

Had orientation yesterday. Couldn't get my baby scales yet cause they weren't in. The cell phone wasn't programed either so I hope to get started first of next week.

TTFN Katie is getting grumpy. Kathy

Folks,
we're off for our long weekend with the family. We'll be online again Sunday evening (Our time - Noon for you). So if you have any changes for the list, please send them until then.

Everybody have a great weekend

Eric and Anja,
Enjoy your time with the family and hope that the weather is great for you. Leaves are really starting to fall here.

Cathy hope that the hand is doing better. Try not to be too hard on Art ;) Ashlee is like all kids all they want to do is run in and out of the house fanning the door.

Ave and Mary hope that things are going well for you.

Nancy hope that the tournament is going without a lot of hands on work from you and Norm. How is Norm's team doing?

Dan and Scott hope that you guys are not having post cruise blues.

Have to run and pick up Kathy's scales and stuff from nurses for newborns. Mike

Hi everyone, Just getting home from job#2. Long night!
Papa, heard from Dennis, no problems with the "frozen shake." Hope to see him and Chrystina in Dec.
We are planning a visit to Disney's Hilton Head Island in Feb. with sister Mary and family.
The Cruise list keeps growing:bounce:
This will be the best Dis Cruise EVER!!!
Later, Ave'

Hi Folks,

we're back from our weekendtrip. Starlight Express was absolutely great, the cast was mostly American, but they all sang in German. It was really worth the big bucks we had to pay for the tickets ($144 for the two of us :( )

Mike,
we don't have any leaves left to fall down after two stormfronts have run over Germany, but at least this time we had no fatalieties. The weather was OK when we were at the Duisburg Zoo and saturday and sunday we even had blue skies for some hours, but the temps have dropped to the 30ies. My In-Laws even had half an inch of snow when they departed from Kiel.
Then we visited the Cento, Germany's nicest shopping mall. It was absolutely great - even better than most of the malls we visited in Florida, but unfortunately smoking is still permitted there and when in became more crowded around noon it was quite a nuisance. Fortunately we're making some progress in this issue: Last Friday our parliament passed a law banning the use of attributes like "Mild", "Light", "Ultralight", etc, which make cigarettes appear less harmful than they are.

Page 2 !?! What's up? Is everybody on vacation? ;)
