Nancy (Windy) - I also made my ressies via telephone and she didn't say anything at all to me about what to wear. As a matter of fact, at first I was taken aback because she was not very nice initially, sorta rude and abrupt, but as the conversation continued following her putting me on hold for a short time frame, it was better. I think I had called at a very busy time.

One more thing before I call it quits: This is just FYI. Check out this link guys: New DIS Store Opening Soon

Too bad it wasn't open in time for the Baltimore meet! We could have gotten something for that meet. It should be interesting to see what they end up offering.

International Cruisetoberfest Chat: Saturday, August 23rd, 10 a.m. EDT

Well, Eric is available for an International Chat on 8/9, but I'm not. You guys can have one then. I'm just advertising the one I will be at! LOL

Wow, the DIS store sounds cool!!! It'll be interesting to see what they will carry when they open!!

Does anyone from the group ever show up the the general cruise chat on Friday nights? I know for a while some of us were, I was just wondering if anyone had lately.

Hope and I were there this past Friday night until lightening storms made me shut down my computer.

Windy is known to pop in now and again.

Oh - And is TNRobin still on the latest Cruise List? She told us on Friday that she is definitely not doing our cruise.

International Cruisetoberfest Chat: Saturday, August 23rd, 10 a.m. EDT

I do pop in but usually late. It's Friday night and I'm kicking back with some wine and cable. Can't blame me for that. At 9pm is the new "While you were out." DH watches 'The Wire' at 10pm so I need something to do while that's on. I catch the end of chat.

I won't make it to 8/9 either. Work every other Saturday 9a-7p. That may be altered soon but I'll have to wait til at least mid-August before I figure that out.

I'm calling it a night now. You guys have a good one.

Windy - I edited my post and took out the part about how you are watching tv and reading other posts instead of chatting. LOL ! Sometime I try to be funny but I've been told I have a "bite". Things somehow just don't come across the way I mean it sometimes. Oh well! Glad you are a good sport!

Take care all.

Well 60 pages down and 340 to go. I guess I'll sign off now and do some reading.

I'd rather go back to the beginning of this thread and read it's 306 pages again. At least this is entertaining. No legaleez to muddle through.

Fiona - I don't know how you deal with this type of reading on a daily basis. I lose patience halfway through the first page of a contract.

Good night Ladies, and pleasant DISNEY dreams!!!

I must say Eric (the Viking. I loved that film):jester: the web page is looking good... at least now i know a few face I am talking too...

As to the underwear Crash I do not think that i even heard about that over here......

I just realized that I won't be able to make it to International Cruise Chat on the 23rd. We have a wedding in Orlando at 11am. Bummer!!!

Some people use anything to get out of chatting to people... :jester: Mental Note (Now just got to find one for me.... hehehehehehehehe)

What chat program to u use??? PS Please remind me nearer the time Eric..

Jeff,
just go to the MAIN CHAT PAGE on DIS, download the IChat-Tool and install it. You have to set up a username and password again, but usually you can use the same username again.

BTW,
in the movie "Erik, The Viking" the main character is written with a "K", but I'm a "C" - Eric, which is kind of unusual in Germany. My parents wanted to make a statement, but this makes it nearly impossible for me to obtain a coffee-mug or similar things with Eric over here - I always have to go to the UK or USA to get things ;) Good excuse to travel :p

My parents wanted to make a statement,

Or in a friends Case the dad misspelt the name.... ;)

The Oct. 2 crusie is what looks good to me for next year. But I might love the Western so much that we do it again. I will make reservations for next year while on board, so I can get the discount. I would love to see Antigua. Purto Rico was nice, but we went there as a result of the hurricain so I did not have much time to do research. I have been looking at a few Antigua sites and it looks like a very interesting place.

I've got 8/23 on my calander!

Sorry to hear Robin will not be joining us:(

I have been known to go to the Friday night chat, but that is our "family night" so we are usually out at a ballgame or a movie.

Windy -- it's not the reading I have a problem with -- I guess you get used to it, it's some of the people that I have to deal with. :D

I'm lucky in that in real estate most people are very nice but every once in a while you run into some duds. I was once asked how old I was because the other lawyer didn't like my answer to something!

Was at the Jays game last night (our 32nd) and they lost. :( Relief pitching again. It was a fun game though and we'll be back there again tonight.

Shari - They were showing a house for sale. It was awfully white inside. And there was a 30-40 something couple looking to buy. I'll have to check the travel channel website to see if it will be on again.
Nancy - That's the problem with houses here - People think <I>"This is the Sunshine State! I MUST decorate in light, airy colors! White is ideal because it will also make everything look larger!"</I>

They don't think about it getting <I>dirty</I>, but then of course they have housekeepers so that's not a concern. My sister now has a live-in housekeeper but is no better off financially than I. But my mom dropped her housekeeper at my insistence when I moved in with her, because the added physical activity is good for me. :p Besides, the two of us are clean, neat people! :jester:

But as for that HUGE mansion (the link), it's WAY too big for my taste. Although I guess just walking around the house and grounds every day would be sufficient exercise!

And <B>Tulirose</B> - real people (the <I>real</I> outrageously wealthy) DO live in houses like that, and that is what never ceases to amaze me in this community. It's just too bad that when anyone says they live at <I>Spruce Creek Fly-In</I>, people immediately assume that person is exorbitantly wealthy and then seem disappointed if you're not. That's why I have posted several times about it - to set the record straight up front! :smooth:

The guy next door to me is 37, single, has a DeLorean (as in <I>Back To The Future</I>), does computer work from home and takes college courses part-time. He owns the house, but got his furniture from Rooms-To-Go. Quite a contrast to the mansion owners!

Wow Mary, that is quite an impressive list that you put together. I can't even finalize my plans for the cruise and there you are breaking down the list for us. If you want something else to do, you can finish making my trip plans.

Some of you were busy chatting last night. I was behind by 3 pages this morning. I still have trouble getting on the computer at home and then when I can get on, aol kicks me off. I really do need to look at getting another internet connections. But that is just one more thing on my 2 do list.

I mailed our picture this morning to Eric. So he will try to get it up on the web site before our Baltimore meet. The only thing holding me back from swimming over with the envelope, was I don't think I would make it back in time for 8/2 meet.

Is @Goofynut computer still out of service? She hasn't posted in few days?

No one mentioned anything to me about a dress code when I called. I would think as long as you don't look like a slob, you can get on. No tank tops, halter tops, or jeans. We will probably go with the golf outing look. This is getting to be like the thread that come out every so often on the dress code for dinner on the cruise.

Have a great day everyone.

Nancy

I truly don't understand there being a dress code for the boat cruise in Baltimore.

Would they really turn away someone who was wearing a nice pair of jeans. Please give me a break. Andy is definetely not going to be happy as other than getting dressed for a night out or going to a fancy occasion he does not like to get dressed up. Theres no way I can say to him to wear a good pair of pants when we leave to drive to Baltimore on Saturday morning. I did call the cruise line and they said no blue jeans or sneakers so I guess black jeans would be appropriate.

What do you guys think?

Arlene

Iwould think that black jeans would be fine. I ordered the tickets online and have to admit that I didn't give a thought to a dress code. Also have to admit that if I'm not in work clothes (dresses etc.) I'm in jeans and t-shirts. Am going to have to look to see what I have that isn't dressed up and isn't jeans. I think I have one pair of black shorts so that will be it, now to find a non-tshirt, top to wear with it.

Anything about shoes? I was planning on wearing my everyday sandals which go with jeans but not dresses.

Have a good day everyone!!

Fiona

Arlene....my husband is wearing a pair of old navy jeans and a golf shirt and just let the boat try to turn him away..I've already paid for my tickets and they will have me to deal with!!! Seriously, he is not going to wear anything old and messy but this is what he is comfortable with and this is what he will wear...compared to what he wears at work, this is dressed up!! I can't imagine them adhering to such a strict dress code because they have to realize that people are on vacation....while we were in Branson, we had dinner on the Branson Belle which was a really nice dinner and show and my husband was concerned because he only had long jeans and shorts with him...when he asked about the dress code, the woman replied "CLOTHES!!"...she said they realize that most people were on vacation and they had no problem with jeans.

Shari...checked out that house...to die for...the kitchen was absolutely beautiful (if they were my counters, they would be full of junk) but I wasn't really impressed with the master suite or guest bedrooms or living room..if they have that much money, they should have hired a decorator, IMHO!!
