Cruise 10/11/2003 Part 2

By the way -

We were talking about when to got for next year already. Has anyone else had these thoughts. Sept 4 and Sept 18 Easterns are different - one going to Antigua and one going to San Juan (not a new port for some of you though). George was wanting to do eastern first because he likes the extra sea day. We'll probably do back-to-back again but I was wondering what anyone else may have been thinking.

Nancy we are wearing shorts, or jeans to the mid atlantic meet. For me business casual is leaving the top button on my biboveralls undone. Resort casual is the uniform for the meet as far as we are concerned. Tee shirts, shorts and sandals, how sweet it is. Mike

Spruce Creek Fly-in is on the travel channel right now. 7/22 9:30pm edt. The show is called 'Outrageous Millionaire Service'

So the Baltimore meet - business casual but shorts allowed? No jeans or tennis shoes.

I assume most will be wearing shorts and a polo or something similar. And here I was wanting to wear a CC t-shirt. Oh well.
Why can't you wear your CC shirt? Why no jeans or tennis shoes either? Who is setting this dress code???

BTW - I talk to myself all the time on this thread too. Gotta grab the opportunity while we can! :p

Rich and I are interested in renting scooters for our Key West tour. The web site I found doesn't list any prices. Sent them an email. Meanwhile, do you remember how much it was? Thanks

Hope - (((Hugs))) to you. You will survive your DD's week at camp.

Mary - That is so sad about the dolphin.

Ave - Wow! What a thing to experience first thing on a relaxing Sunday morning. I guess DS won't be playing golf in the backyard again anytime soon.

Eric - You are doing a great job on that website. Loved seeing Scootersmom and family and Hope's parents and Dave and Ellen. Keep up the good work, Eric, and everyone get your pictures in!

Fiona - Looking forward to seeing you and everyone else in Baltimore in 10 days.

Nancy - We hit some sales this weekend too! Got really nice satin dress sandals for the wedding and I suppose I will just have to take them along on the cruise for formal night! ;)

Papa - Also looking forward to hearing your "accent" again! Baltimore is going to be great.

Dan - are you still around? Don't work too hard. I know, all these trips gotta get paid for somehow but enjoy the summer while it is here. Give my best to Scott and Nate.

Oh and speaking of the Cruisetoberfest picture website... what happened to that HUGE picture of Tina (Hopkins)? I guess it is taking time to transfer from a .doc to a .jpg and to shrink it too. We wanna see what she looks like.

And Nancy (PADisneyFan) just because we will be taking pictures in Baltimore doesn't mean that you can't send one in now. We wanna see what you guys look like BEFORE we meet ya! LOL

And I'm sure it is not just me. We all are a little more than curious about each other. I'll admit it.... I'm a nosybody! LOL

CC tee shirt would be great Nancy.

Rosemary you have me worried talking to yourself girl. :teeth:

Wümme it is. Just hold the ALT-key and punch in 129 on the numeric pad to make an ü, 154=Ü, 148=ö, 132=ä, 142=Ä, 153=Ö

Rosemary,
I still have to do Tina's pic - Perhaps tonight.

Hi Everybody:

I think for the Baltimore meet we should pretend its a formal night and wear gowns and tux's. Only kidding......

Lets go comfortable.

Oh, GEEEEEZZZZ . . . and I MISSED IT! Guess that's what I get for not being on the DIS much lately. But thanks for the info. Maybe they'll show it again.

Did they feature anyone in particular? Let's see - There is Bill Lane, an old doctor who supposedly made a bundle off a shark pill for cancer (VERY controversial). He also is into international merchandise import/export. There is an author from Germany who probably has the most expensive car and plane. I don't think the basketball player and NASCAR drivers are too extravagant, with the exception of Mark Martin and all his relatives. I would be concerned about his son, <B><a href="http://www.mattmartin.net/" target="index">Matt Martin</A></B>. Basically his dad built/funded a track in nearby New Smyrna so his kid could race conveniently. That's a good thing I guess. But think about how the kid would be if for ANY reason he was suddenly not wealthy anymore. I think that would be devastating. When you are that wealthy as a kid, where is there to go but down? I know - One just keeps getting richer. :p

And hey, folks - If you haven't seen it yet, check out <B><a href="http://www.fly-in.com/tropical_paradise.html" target="index">THIS $5,700,000 home</A></B> in the Fly-In! BTW: A reminder - - I may have wealthy neighbors but I am just a (relatively) poor self-employed photojournalist and TA, so don't get any ideas about me buying drinks for everyone :jester: LOL. I have promised Eric a drink though . . since this time I received TWO copies of the list in Word as well as one PDF! :p

Ave--- I know where you are coming from with the golf balls. Only I had it with hockey pucks. I ended up putting in plexiglass in all the garage windows, side door and ground floor windows on one side of the house. My boys when playing hockey in the driveway always had stray pucks going through windows.

Baltimore Meet-- I'm all for casual. Hopefully the weather will be as nice as it has been the past couple of weekends.

Rosemary--- I would like to put a picture on the website prior to our meet. However, I would have to snail mail it to Eric for him to scan and not sure it would be done in time. So you will just have to be in suspense until we meet. Thanks for the congratulations.

On our May cruise, in Key West there were alot of scooters flying around the town. However, we also saw some scooter accidents. It was Memorial Day weekend and the entire place was crazy. Wall to wall people, traffic at a crawl, people on scooters, motorcycles and golf cars weaving in and out of the traffic. It made you half afraid to even try to cross the street. We did the trolley tour, and one of the scooter pulled in front of our trolley while it was turning and the trolley driver had to swerve to not hit her. Hopoefully, in Oct it will be a little calmer.

I would like to do the Eastern cruise that goes to Antigua. There is one on Oct 2. MOre interested in Antigua since I was in San Juan last year on our mystery cruise.

Is anyone else not getting email telling you that someone responded to this thread? I just normally check each day, since I haven't gotten an email in at least a week.

Later,
Nancy

The emails seem to be very sporadic. I'll get notified of new postings regularly for a while and then all of a sudden I'll stop getting notifications. Who knows why?????

Nancy,
I will leave for Los Estados Unidos in 8 weeks and 3 days. You could put that picture in a waterproof envelope, stick it between your teeth and swim over to Europe in that time :jester:
I'll mail you my land adress and then you can send me the picture. Mail from the USA to Germany and vice-versa rarely needs more than 4-5 days.

Shari,
this evening we had a 3-minute-report about Spruce Creek in a lifestyle-magazine on RTL-Television. They also stated that only milionaires, billionaires and zillionaires live there - But as long as I get MY cocktail, this is fine with me ;)

BTW,
how can every woman make a man a millionaire?

If he was a billonaire before he met her!!:jester:

OK Folks,
I grabbed Hopkins' pic out of her GIGANTIC Word-file,
added some light and contrast, resized it, and saved it as a JPEG. Now its only 30KB instead of 2MB ;) As Tina didn't send the name of her furry friend I just put her and Bill's name on it (That is, if Bill is the Yorkshire, I need the name of that gentleman :jester: )
Then I separated Mike and Kathy from Art & Cathy and replaced their pic on the homepage.
And finally I sent my land adress to Nancy to enable her to send me a picture. Nancy, the deadline is 08/07/03!! This means: If I haven't received a picture via snail-mail until then, I will look for something appropiate on the Web, put it on the homepage and label it PADISNEYFAN :bounce: :jester: :Pinkbounc

Regarding the Baltimore Meet....if Sam sees that the dress code is business casual then he will want to wear his business/job best which is an old pair of jeans; work shoes and a greasy tee shirt...not a pretty sight I might add (LOL!!). Mike...papa...Sam liked the idea of the bib overalls!!

Cathy and I have already mapped out our eating route to Baltimore....Fuddrucker's in Hershey: maybe breakfast at Cracker Barrel, the cruise and maybe dinner at Phillips!!!

Another dreary day here...looks like it wants to rain again...we had terrible thunder storms and tornado warnings on Monday and rain off and on yesterday and it looks like it wants to rain again today!!!

Eric....had to laugh when I heard report on CNN about German guy driving on Autobahn (sp??) and crashed when someone threw underwear at him so he couldn't see..not sure the guy who crashed laughed but had to chuckle at the report...CNN sandwiched this in between the Hussein brothers!!

If that was true I'd be taking a <I>LOT</I> more Disney cruises . . or perhaps even <I>purchasing</I> a permanent Cat. 1 stateroom! :p

- But as long as I get MY cocktail, this is fine with me ;)

Don't worry . . You MIGHT even get TWO if I'm in a good mood! :teeth:
