Cruise 10/11/2003 Part 2

Yesterday I switched my 2/19/04 cruise to 9/25/03. That means I'll be doing my first back-to-back on the Wonder, 9/25 and 9/28/03. Then just 9 days after that ends, I'll board the Magic for Cruisetoberfest II. It's going to be a REAL battle not to gain weight with two weeks of cruising over such a short period of time.

Tigfanjeff: Viking isn't the only one who likes riding in the nose of the monorail. You may find yourself with a long wait-list (including myself) vying for the treasured spot! And I am available almost any time. Just tell me when and where to show up! :smooth:

I have read so many posts talking about tipping!! What I want to know is.....does anyone have any other suggestions for tipping the counslers besides phone cards. If everyone gives them phone cards don't you think they get tired of getting them?

Hope

Tomorrow and Saturday, in the afternoon. Probably at the MK station both nights. You can just ask where Jeff is working, I'm the only one in the department right now.

Hey everyone!!! Yes, it's me, alikat99, and I'm still alive. I'm not going to post a long note tonight, since I've spent the past hour and a half trying to skim through the multiple pages that I've missed.

Life has been very busy around our house for the past month. We went to the Bahamas for 6 days for a wedding, Disney for 2 days, home for 2 days, Colorado Springs for 5 days for a work-related trip that Chris won, home for 2.5 days and off to Disney again for a scrapbooking convention-type event. I'm exhausted!!!

And, a personal apology to Dan for not getting in touch with him before so that we could meet at Disney. I'm so sorry Dan. With being in and out, by the time I was ready to leave for Disney, I didn't know where you were staying, so I didn't know how to get in touch with you. I was hoping that you would remember that I was at Coronado Springs, but oh well. I'm looking forward to meeting you and Scott in October. I just wished we could have hooked up last weekend.

Well, I'll post tomorrow with how our trips went and our personal family bio.

Take care everyone!!! I've missed you all!!!

Got any tips for Colorado Springs?
I will be there next week. I fly to Denver on Monday to stay there for 16 days - also business-related. But as we will have two free weekends we plan on driving down to Colorado Springs after having been on Pike's Peak. I'm open to any suggestions.

Tulirose,

Please let Mr Viking know that it is not the number of posts but the content!

Dan

Tulirose,
please ask Mr Dan the following question: Since when do people working in the fastfood-industry worry about content ? :jester:

What councellors? Is it the people taking care of the kids?
Why aren't they just rewarded with the pictures of former presidents?

Eric -

Colorado Springs is awesome. What a beautiful place, especially coming from flat Florida. Anyway, some of the things that we did which were cool was Seven Falls, Manitou Cliff Dwellings, Garden of the Gods and about an hour south of Colorado Springs was a place called Royal Gorge Bridge and Park. It has the world's highest suspension bridge, world's single span aerial tram and the steepest incline railway (Chris got that from the website, www.royalgorgebridge.com). It costs about $18, but you can either walk or drive over the bridge, ride the tram and the incline railway, see a couple of shows, when we went there was a band playing. The views were spectacular!!!

Have a wonderful time!!!

17 weeks!:bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce: :bounce:

We are getting close to double digits!!!

Welcome back Alikat!

Congrats on # 4000 Eric. Have a safe trip to Colorado!

Tas...3 cruises in 3 weeks!!!!Lucky you!I saw you have now moved to Fla for good. Are you living with your family? Seen Mark lately;) ?

We have gotten to ride in the "nose" 2X. We were given the little monorail card.

Welcome Jeff! I know what you mean about the bakeries in the south. I go a little nuts when I visit New York, BAGLES, BLACK & WHITES, CHEESECAKE, RYE BREAD, SPRINKLE COOKIES! (not to mention PIZZA)!!!We have an OK bagel store here, but it's just not the same! Everytime I visit NY I bring back 2 doz bagles!

There are few (very) few local bakeries around here as well, mostly in the surrounding small towns, but they are wonderful! But then there is Krispy Kreme at the Mall of America, just a few minutes (ok, 80 minutes) away. If you are going to ask, well then yes, we have driven up there first thing in the morning but NEVER, NEVER just for Krispy Kreme!!.

We have been picking up $ 10.00 gift cards at Wal-Mart and Target to use instead of phone cards this years cruise. We were told that near the port are Wal-mart and Target so the cast members have a few bucks to get a book, personal items, junk food...

Bette & Kim

Bette thanks so much for the cookbook, that was so thoughtful of you and your mom.

Have a safe trip Eric and hope that Anja enjoys her time off.

I believe that we have ridden in the nose with Jeff before. When you meet us in October we will know for sure. I am one unforgettable person.

We will make our final payment on the cruise Monday. It is so great that we are able to do this a little bit ahead of time. Saw on the dreams website that there are 43 families on this cruise and we will receive a gift from them in the staterooms. Mike

Thanks, Mike.

We will wait with our final payment til the last possible monent, because we hope that the Dollar drops a bit more until then. ;)
When we booked the cruise we had to pay €1.07 for the Dollar. Right now it is €.88. This saves us €380, which translates to about $430. Last summer the Dollars went above €1.20  This would have required us to make some cuts, but now it allows for more shopping.

BTW,
our countdown to Florida is at 97 days, so we can do the first double digit dance.

I plan on becoming a Mega-Woman tonight and hitting Mega-Millions. Then I'll pay off our cruise. (And if I like ya, I just might pay off your cruise too! ;) )

Papa's right - He and Kathy are both unforgettable and very lovable!

We rode in the front of the monorail many times in 2000 and earlier visits.

We got a NordicTrac treadmill as a combination Father's Day/Anniversary present.

Dan and Eric - Don't put me in the middle. Love ya both! ;) (Although I almost busted a gut laughing at Eric's posting)

Arlene - I will be sending you an email some time this weekend. We gotta get together.

Hey Hopelea! Nice chat last night.

I was gonna go on chat this a.m. to see if anyone was there but when I returned home, Rich was out on his errands and I realized I didn't have my house key and I was locked out of the house! That's okay though, I spent my time weeding the garden while waiting for hubby's return. I know, I know - I'm such a puddin head!

Gotta go - got places to go and people to see....

Cathy, yes we are alive and well. Thanks for asking. Just having been doing very well keeping up with all the posts on this thread let alone trying to post.

But I did see alot of the "Bio's" that everyone has been posting, so here is a little bit about the "CheesePlease" family.

Ellen is one of the many Nurses in our crew. She is a surgical nurse and after working many years in our local hospital, she became the Nursing Director at a freestanding ambulatory day surgery center. Besides nursing she is a dedicated "Soccer Mom" who continues to organize the student referees in our AYSO soccer league even after our children have "graduated" from that activity.

I just finished my 29th year as an Electrical Engineer at IBM. During that time I have worked in hardware design, software development and manufacturing engineering.

We are both highly addicted to Disney. We have owned DVC since 1992 and purchased an add on in 2000. We also are camping enthusiasts and have camped several times at Fort Wildness. Twice with our pop-up trailer and twice with our travel trailer traveling down from upstate NY.

We have two teenage children who have cruised with us three times, but will not be with us in October. Our DD just finished her freshman year at the University of Delaware where she is studying Chemical Engineer. Our DS will be a senior in high school next year. He is still not sure what he wants to do or where he wants to go to college, he just know he wants nothing to do with math or science....oh well.

In addition to being on Cruisetoberfest I in September 2001, we went on our maiden cruise in September 2000 along with TNRobin the original "List Mistress" who was in the cabin next to us. We played loud music on the stereo to keep her up all night. :teeth: just kidding. That was the cruise several of the folks from DIS got free upgrades to cat 3's. It was nice, but does that ever spoil you.

Looking forward to see both our old friends and new cruisers in October.

Dave and Ellen

Went to EPCOT today to meet a DIS friend who works at Test Track. Then I headed to MK to track down monorail pilot/Cruisetoberfest II cruiser Jeff. Here is one shot of Jeff and here is another. Here's a view from the nose. Sorry about shooting into the glare of the light on the glass. :smooth:

Thanks Jeff!
