Thanks for all the bio stuff

At least Jeff and I aren't the only ones with loads of Disney stuff... We currently have Tiggers everywhere, the top of our entertainment center is a shrine to all things stuffed Tiggers and Eeyores.. There's a monorails going around our ceiling, which Jeff is working on making more realistic with an electrified track...

We have two beagles, one is named Copper, which movie is he from??? The other is Josie, we rescued her as an adult so didn't name her

DOn a cruise note, the recent Western Navigator's have the formal night on Thursday now, not Monday...

Thanks, Eric! No rush. Just wanted it corrected for the next edition, as I had mentioned it when I e-mailed you my new phone numbers, but I guess it got overlooked.

You're doing a great job maintaining that list! Thank you.

Folks,
you may not believe me, but my convertible's on-board computer showed 40ºC outside temperature at 2pm!! that is 104ºF!! Our street runs exactly south to north, so the sun burns into the street from about 9am til 4pm. When I started driving along the Autobahn the temp dropped to 35ºC, which translates to 95ºF. Thank God, we had some small thunderstorms in the evening which cooled down the air considerably to about 80ºF.

Shari,
I found a nice gadget for all digital photographers: A German company named Hama sells a portable CD-writer with slots for the most types of memory-cards. It saves them directly onto CD without the need of a computer. It writes CDs with 36x, CD-RWs with 10x, and reads CDs with 48x. Additionally you can use it as a discman or as an external drive for your PC/laptop. Unfortunately the guy in the shop didn't know if it runs with 110 Volts, but I contacted the company about it. If it also runs with 110 V, I will buy it for my trip to Denver. My new digicam has a 5.0 megapixel-CCD and needs a lot of memory-cards, so this drive is a great deal at about €200 ($240).

I'm taking a break from cutting down some more trees. What we thought was going to be a couple of weekends is probably going to turn into an entire summer job -- we take part of a tree down and then it doesn't look right so the entire thing comes down.

Chris (DS) and Jim are in the middle of putting together a new BBQ. There's a lot of noise going on and hammering (?) so I'm staying out of the way.

It's finally warm here and have been in shorts all day (Yeah!!!). It is not 40C by any means but at least it's warm. I think it's about 23C or 24C.

Jim and I are baseball fans. I got him into it. We have a season's pass to the Blue Jays which means that for $81 Cdn we can go to any game that we want and get a ticket worth $7. The seats are actually really good -- high up but usually right behind home plate -- we get different tickets every game but usually within a few sections. We've been to about 15 games so far this year and will probably hit 45-50 over the course of the summer. It's cheap entertainment as long as we take our own snacks.

Chris just picked up his kit yesterday -- it took from 9am - 3:30pm to pick it up. It's now all over the family room as he figures everything out. I modeled his web vest thingie (technical military term) as he packed the pockets. I tried on the helmet -- one word heavy -- I felt like I was going to turn into a bobblehead. Had to laugh at the ugly green towels. I guess they hide the dirt. Turns out he's away for training the next 2 weekends and then leaves June 28th and returns August 14th. He thinks he's off weekends but doesn't know about transportation home. He's going to a base in Meaford and I guess I should look on the map and figure out where that is. I don't think he's realized that he slept in today for the last time til August!! Should be an interesting summer.

Well should get back outside.

Oh I collect disney beanies -- they are actually on a bookshelf in the my office at work. The dog, Lily (a minature american eskimo) thinks they are her toys so they left the house for the office. Would love to put Disney posters up in my office but not sure how that would go over. Of course one lawyer has car racing stuff all over his office and the senior partner has baseball stuff all over (and I mean all over) his office so they can probably deal with it. Everyone at work knows I'm a Disney freak and laugh because I can tell them exactly how many days it is til the cruise.

Hello All hope that everyone is doing well. Fiona it is called a molle vest here in the US. Soldiers use it to hang all of their ammo pouches, grenades, compasses and such. My first helmet was a World War II retread we called them a steel pot. Good for cooking in and heating water to shave with. Can't do that with the new kevlar helmets.

Warm here today also Eric. Kathy and I went for a walk on the walking trail close to the house. It is a quarter mile around the little lake and we watched the turtles and baby ducks do their thing while we walked. Did 3 laps today.

We have a ton of visits scheduled for tomorrow. We have been averaging 45 visits a month to our clients along with Kathy's regular job and my keeping the granddaughter. I am too old for this:bounce:

Mike

Mike,
be careful working out in the heat: Last thursday we had the first heat-induced "casualty" at the office: A lady from our treasury dept collapsed. Standard procedure in our company is, that I'm called to any emergency as I also train all our first-aiders. She's about 5'4'' and about 240 lbs+. Combine that with the heat and some stress and you know what will happen. We cooled her down, and I called an ambulance. Unfortunately she didn't want to go to a hospital as her hubby is confined to a wheelchair and she has to take care of him. So we stabilized her bloodpressure and then -after having her sign a waiver for being responsible on her own- had her transported to her doc with a taxicab. She called in sick for friday and I hope she will be OK again on Tuesday (We have a holiday on monday).

Anja and I worked out yesterday for about 2 hours: I ran 8 miles and Anja did 5 (She did 15minutes on the sunbed while I was already running), and after that we played Badminton for about 50 minutes. We drank half a gallon of a sportsdrink during the workout - each of us!! And at home had another quarter of a gallon. We virtually have the gym for us as nobody else is so crazy to work out in that heat ;) The main part of the gym and the badminton and squash-courts are only ventilated, so we have temps in the 80ies there. Only the Aerobic-rooms are airconditioned. The main part of the gym and the courts are about 12 meters (40') from floor to ceiling so the ventilation is OK, but the aerobic-rooms are only about 3m (10') and you can't work out there without a/c. Perhaps we're going to take a dip into the pool after today's workout to cool down. Today it's another 7-8 miles plus an hour of chin-ups, dips, push-ups and abs. I don't know if I'll find time to work out in Denver. The hotel I'm at has a small gym and we also have sporting facilities at our company's headquarters, but I'm afraid I will be too busy to use it. Additionally Denver is located at an elevation of more than 5000', so even if I find time to work out, I have to do it carefully, because I have to adapt to the lower airpressure first.

Thanks Mike for the name of the vest. I didn't think to ask Chris -- he was too worried about getting everything packed properly.

It looks nice outside right now but it's supposed to start to rain at some point and then rain for the next few days. It did rain quite hard last night. Hopefully it won't rain as much as they say it will.

Have a great day everyone.

Fiona

:jester: :Pinkbounc :jester: :Pinkbounc NOW this is more like it. I was beginning to worry about us cause we were so quiet and OMG reserved. I say that for the former cruisers cause you all know what we are really like. It's so nice to see everybody getting into their bubbly DISNEY mood.

Our info ...

Art & I were very heavily involved in our local volunteer fire, rescue and ambulance squads for over 25+ years. (Fire Chief, President, EMT's ec). Our squad is that little know one that rescue and worked on Gloria Estefan .... I say little known cause we did our job so well we are FORGOTTEN. If we messup you'll all know about us. Age and health issues have us on the sidelines now.

I work for the Federal Govt for 21 years ... I'm Mike's RR Retirement in! I do the same things as SSA but for all RR workers.
Part of my job involves travelling to different locations.

Art works for our local school district ... handling all the Shipping and Receiving. From pencils to computers to baseball bats all have to be received thru him.

We don't have any "skin kids", just one "furry one". AshLee (The queen) a dalmation that is about 9 years old. She would be insulted if we didn't mention her as our "child" .... you guys I'm sure know what I mean.

We too have Disney all over the house ... I'm guilty of that. There are stuffed characters sitting on my rocker in the dining room and the living room has a chair with a giant Mickey and Goofy sitting on them. I have a picture frame with all my Disney Pins on for display and to look at and dream of some realllllllllly great times past.

I also have a "zen beach" on my work desk with Disney Cruise figures playing in the sand. Needless to say anyone that comes into my office know I love Disney!

Art likes to do wood working projects. He has a lot of "big boys toys" in our basement that he turned into a woodworking workship ... my part of the projects is the sanding!

I like to crochet, scrapbook, sew, make Disney jewelry, garden and needlecraft stuff (like counted cross-stitch on plastic, etc).
I also am dabling in Digital photography ... just the beginnings of.
I also love to see (and feed) the wild critters that come into my yard .... good exercise for AshLee too!

We also have a bass tracker boat for catch and release fishing.
There is also a AAA Phillies baseball team in town that we go to watch a lot.

This is our third cruise with some of these DIS'rs - so I can vouch for most of them and THEY ARE A FUN BUNCH!

This weekend we are going to Williamsburg with Sarahsmom - MaryJo and her family and will also meet up with Scootersmom for dinner in Virginia Beach ... can't wait. Just hope that somewhere a long the line the D***** sun comes out.

It has been so rainy this spring that last weekend we had the local ducks and canadian geese paddling around in the pubbles in our front yards ... we live across the street from a lake. They wer taking out the "kids" to show them off to the neighbors and teach them how to cross the street I think.

Well now I really have to run and get some work done.

Cathy with @ C!

BTW I noticed that some of you guys were on Eric's list but need to get added to the "Look Who's Cruising Now" thread. ALSO Eric's listing is where I draw from to make up the name tags for everyone....these are handy to keep everybody straight as you meet on the ship!

Hi Folks,

we're back to the high temps :smooth: and the foracast predicts even more heat for the next week - Fortunately I only have to work three days due to the holiday today and a one-day-vacation on Friday to organize everything for my Denver-trip and Anja's trip to her parents.

About us...

My husband and I are complete Disney nuts! We also have Disney stuff all over the house like the rest of you.

I teach piano, help run a website for my father's gem and mineral store, create jewelry and right now work temporarily for a financial services company.

My husband (Jordan) is the Director of Operations at a Candlewood Suites in Gahanna, Ohio.

We also have a furry child- a Pomeranian named Emma.

We are the proud?? parents of 12 kittens! Help! We had a stray and 3 kittens show up last year and we were kind enough to feed them. Oops! Anyone want 12 cats? ;)

We're taking my parents on the cruise. They are Disney nuts too who just re-hung all of their disney souvenirs and left an open spot for purchases from the cruise!

Looking forward to getting to know all of you!

Kate

Hi guys,

Just wanted to say hello. I come home tomorrow and will post more then.

Take care and chat soon.

Dan

P.S. I did run into a cruiser, but you will have to wait until I come home to tell you who it was

My In-Laws just got back from their Alaska Cruise and had a WONDERFUL time. They just asked me the cost of the DCL trip in Oct, so I did a little surfing and called them with a price! I had a feeeling once they got a taste of cruising they would want to do it again. I would LOVE for them to come on the cruise! They are such a fun couple, and would have a wonderful time.

Regina is at Girl Scout (sleep away) camp this week, riding horses everyday! She just left yesterday and I miss her already!

Dan!!! Good to see you! Is you sister still joining us?

Sorry Kate, can't help you with the kittys! We have a full house here (1 dog, 1 cat, 1 turtle) any additional pets and they begin to out number the humans :p

Who's doing the next bio????Come on now, don't be shy!

OK, OK,
I also come out with our Disney decorations:

We have hand-puppets on all four posts of our bed: Eeyore & Pumba, Rowlf (The piana playing dog from ths Muppets) and a Shamu from SeaWorld. The we have a large Pooh-Calendar on our frontdoor, a Disney-Dreams Day-toDay-calendar. Lots of Poohs and Tiggers on our couches. A large Pooh print in a frame in our living room. Then we have Pooh and his friends bedspreads, bathing towels, etc.
In my room I've got a lot of ToyStory-stuff - especially Buzz and Woody.
For Xmas we have different sets of tree ornaments from Disney, but with the closing of ALL German Disney-Stores 4 years ago it's kind of tough to get new stuff over here.

Dan,
now you made me curious: Who was it

Hi Kate.

Hello to another Ohio family! Have you been to Scrapbook Groupies in Gahanna? Love that store.

Happy Cruising!

No, I haven't been there yet, but I'll definitely have to go! Thanks for the tip!! By the way, that picture is soooo cute!

Wow! So much info about everyone. Guess it's time to start taking notes. :D I have not had much time for computer stuff lately. Lot's of changes in my work life. And staying busy with the kids being out of school. OK my turn:
DH and I got married at the tender age of 29/28. We have been married 14 years. We have two great kids, DD Mary age 12, named after my twin sister Rellingtwin, and DS age 5. His name is Case, but we call him Casey. Lots of people ask us if our kids are our grandkids. I have a list of snappy comebacks.;)
DH, Mark, is a heavy equipment operater, but he has recently taken a job with TRANE. (AC people). I am an LPN. I have worked the last 9 years in an OB/Gyn office. I have just put in my notice to take a job with an Internal Med. doc. I start on Friday the 13th.
My hubby and I love Disney! Since we live in NW FL we are only a 6-7 hour car trip away from Orlando. We went there for our honeymoon, and every year since. My bedroom dresser is covered with Disney picture frames, and we Always buy at least one beach towel each trip we make.
This wll be our 2nd cruise. Last year with the CruisEars was just too much fun! Can't wait to meet you all!
Eric, please don't tease me about The Boss, he never plays close to where I live. Of course I've seen him twice in NY and one in Mobile, Alabama. Later, Ave'

Hi everyone,
Just checking in since I don't post that much until we get relly close to sailing.
Eric, I know the answer to who Dan ran into --the only clue I will give you is that she is a female cruisemate from Cruisetoberfest 1.

Scott

Relling Twin,

Missy and Tammy --I would say 85% sure of cruising with us.
I won't count my chickens though until I see them step foot on the ship.
They just have to come up with the airfare cash and a little more for the cruise.

Scott
