Crowds Memorial Day Week?

Thats awesome! Maybe we'll see you guys there! I'll def. have Minnie Bride ears on, but I know my DF won't wear the top hat. I'm so excited because I haven't been since I was 15 (24 now) and he hasn't been since he was 9 (26 now)..also, he's only ever been to MK, so most everything will be a surprise!

I've asked my DF about wearing the bride and groom ears. He just gave me the "are you kidding me" look. So I probably won't have any! I was probably 16 the last time I went (25 by time of honeymoon), and he is 34 and never been. We are so excited! I hope the DDP works for us, because right now I am loving the idea of it. We have all of our reservations made and everything is paid for ( I really love that part!).

My DF gave me that look too but those bride ears are just too cute for me to pass up! We have all of our ADRs too, I'm really excited because my parents were always on a budget, so we rarely ate TS meals, only CS. The one I do know we ate at is Coral Reef, and I remember loving it, and I'm not even a seafood eater. Are you guys going there? For no cost they will have a diver go down into the tank with a special "Happy Honeymoon" sign for you (they do birthdays and stuff too) and you can e-mail them pictures and they will make you a personalized menu. I called and reserved mine last week and I'm so excited to surprise my DF with it!

Dh and I will be returning to Disney May 26- June 3 and staying at Saratoga Springs. I would recommend making sure you have all of you dining reservations made since we all seem to be going during a holiday weekend.

You guys make sure you wear your wedding ears. When my husband and I were on our honeymoon in December we had them on from the Magical Express. When we checked in our resort they gave us pins that said just married and there was a character picture on our bed signed by the characters congratulating us. All throughout the parks CM would tell us congratulations and the photographers would make us take pictures kissing each other and made it really romantic for us. Congratulation to you all and have a great honeymoon.

YES! We are eating there thanks for the great tip!! Our travel agent booked our ADR, but I will check into e-mailing them pics. Could you post the e-mail addy for me? My DF is amazed at all the research I have been doing for this trip. My parents were always on a budget and we definately didn't eat TS, CS only and we did alot of sharing then! I think I can talk him into the ears when we get there, for me anyway, not him!

You call the direct number to Coral Reef (407)560-6856 and speak to someone about the sign and menu. Then that person will give you their e-mail address for you to send them the pictures. I talked to Debbi and she was wonderful! I've heard Meredith is great too. There is a whole thread on it on the Restaurants page, called Inspired by Coral Reef or something like that. Sorry, I don't know how to give you the link. I didn't have to leave a message when I called, but a lot of people who posted on the other page did and they said the Coral Reef staff called them back relatively quickly. I'm glad I could tell you something new for you to surprise your DF with! Oh, I also read on that other thread that if you reserve the diver you're pretty much guaranteed a tank side table! Don't forget to have your confirmation number when you call!

Ryann-
I talked to our travel agent and our ADR for Coral Reef is on the last night we are there. This will be great for me to surprise Jamie with! (now if I can only keep it a secret!) My best friend is getting married in July and is also Honeymooning at Disney, I've been passing on this info to her too. She says I have an addiction to the DIS, I think she is right! Thanks again!

p.s.- What days did you say that ya'll would be down there? (We are from Tennessee- hence the "ya'll"!!)

I can't find that thread!! Apparently I am unable to search for it either, my searches never return any results! Do you know if it is under reviews or the DDP?

Wow, i'm officially beginning to let go of my worry that the parks will be over crowded during our first family vacation. My family will be staying at the Port Orleans Riverside from May 24-29. We are from the New Orleans area(which is sort of ironic, considering the resort we're staying in) and our kids get out of school for summer vacation on the 24th. We are keeping them home that day so we can head out on the 23rd. My husband and I are more excited then the kids. Thanks for all the insight and helpful tips.

:cheer2:

Hey! We also are staying at POR the 25th-31st. I am so excited! I've become so addicted to these boards, my DH is starting to make fun of me. Even my DS is starting to think I'm strange...and he's only 9!:surfweb:

I know what you mean about being addicted! I sit here for hours reading different sections of the boards, jotting down notes. My husband doesn't think i'm crazy because he's the one that keeps asking if we can go tomorrow. :lmao: We'll be in the Alligator Bayou section(I believe that's what it's called)! Maybe we'll pass and not even know it! :flower3:

How do I find out what section I'm in? Should I just call my TA or POR myself?
My husband isn't a huge Disney fan...He's really doing this for me and the kids. We're celebrating my...40th birthday...:sad2:
Anyway, since he's not huge on Disney...he truly thinks I'm insane with these boards. I just can't help myself...I'm afraid if I don't check the boards every other second, I'll miss some valuable information that would ruin our entire trip:rotfl:

If you go onto the Restaurant thread and scroll down under where you click for "Reviews" or "DDP" there will be a whole other list of threads. Its on the fourth page (I just checked so it could move) and its called "Insprired by Coral Reef signs/menus..any other restaurants do unique things?"..that could be a few words off! Our Disneymoon is May 27-June 3, and we'll be at Coral Reef Tues. May, 29th. I'm so glad you were able to book it, and don't worry, I have become addicted to the DIS too! Oh, and don't worry about the "y'all", we're from Alabama so I def. understand!

I only know that is where we'll be staying after doing alot of research. We are a family of 5 so we have to have a room with the trundle bed. After looking at alot of different things, i've come to the conclusion that we will be in that section. I could be wrong but since that is the only section with the trundle beds, I seriously doubt I am wrong..lol :yay:

Ryann-
Thanks so much!! I found the thread, it looks like we will be there too late for the diver, but I would still like to have the menu anyway so I am going to check on that! Thanks for all of your help! Maybe we will run into each other there. Did you happen to read the thread about the buttons you can pick up at guest services for honeymooners? I think you can get them at any park. Are ya'll driving down or flying? And what day are ya'll leaving? We fly home on Friday. I wish we could stay longer, but we are hoping to go again in the fall (but we have talked about taking his daughter, my future step-daughter to Cedar Point...so who knows). I'm getting way off topic, I'm going to be kicked off the forum!!

Erica,

I'm glad you found it! What time are you guys going to dinner that you'll be there too late? We're driving down, its about 6 1/2 hours from where we are. But we're planning on getting up REALLY early Sun. morning and getting started, so maybe traffic will be okay and it won't even take that long! We'll probably end up having about 5 hours of sleep after our wedding! We're not leaving until Sunday the 3rd, but that day will be strictly get up and start driving early so we can get home and rest up before work the next day. Our last day in the parks will be the 2nd. Oh, and yeah I saw about the pins...I think I can convince DF to wear one of those, even though he won't wear the groom ears!

We too will only get about 5 hours of sleep. Our wedding is at 4, and we are driving to Nashville on Saturday night (which is about a 3 hour drive in itself). Our flight leaves at 7:25 on Sunday morning. The shuttle for the airport leaves our hotel at 5:00 a.m.!!!!:worried: So we are going to be pretty tired by the time we get there, but I'm hoping to be in the park by 12:00-ish.
Our ADR for Coral Reef is at 8:20. We are also eating at Le Cellier, Chef Mickey's, O'hana, and Sci-Fi. How about ya'll?

We're doing Hollywood Brown Derby, Liberty Tree Tavern, Tony's Town Square, Wolfgang Puck Cafe, Big River Grille and Brewing Works, and Raglan Road Irish Pub...I'm really excited about all the great food! You guys must not be having drinks at the wedding if you're driving three hours that night! Our wedding is at 6, and the hotel we're staying in is about 1 mile down the road! Then we're going to get up super early and start our drive to WDW!

The 2007 UOG to WDW lists May 24, 28 30 and 31st as a 7 crowd level. May 25-27 and 29th are 8's. June starts out as 7's and beginning June 4th becomes 8's and 9's and 10's through August 6th.

This is based on a scale from 1-10 with 10 being the highest. A 7 will have a ride wait time of 60-74 minutes and an 8 of 75-84 minutes.

Hope this helps.

What's the UOG to WDW?? Just curious to get a crowd level rating for mid-May. Going 13th-19th.

Thanks!
